PATRIOTIC Front (PF) secretary-general Wynter Kabimba has appealed to Zambians not to lose hope as the party will deliver on its promises.

Mr Kabimba said the coming of the PF to power was just the first step in restoring dignity to Zambians.

He was speaking in an interview on Monday.

“We are conscious of the challenges the Zambian people are facing. Our appeal is that they must not lose heart now because they have come a long way,” Mr Kabimba said.

Mr Kabimba said the PF will not disappoint the Zambians but will deliver on all its promises.

“Our members have remained faithful for 10 years and the PF will not let anyone down. We have just come into power,” he said.

Mr Kabimba also appealed to the opposition to co-operate with the government, as it tries to make the economy better and create jobs.

“Anyone who means well for this country will co-operate with this government, so that it delivers development to everyone,” he said.

Mr Kabimba said the PF under the leadership of President Sata is offering selfless service to people.

“The redemption of this country lies in the PF and I call upon everyone to support this cause,” he said.

And Mr Kabimba said the PF runs an all-inclusive government, which is why it embraces the opposition.

He said at no time has the PF tried to buy off the opposition.

“Chipimo and Nawakwi are not singing praises for Sata. They criticise Government and do so responsibly,” he said.

  1. Mr Kabimba sir, we the people that sacrificed our resources to get the government in power demand that you open channels of communication through a website like you did during campaign time. There, we were free to blog, discuss party issues. We got results and most times we saw PF do what the bloggers were suggesting. Sir, there are are many things we would like to say, but cannot say because you have shut the channel. A bemba adage says “uwakula kwambwa ambwa”; and in life one cannot always respond to insults, innuendos and hearsay. I rest my case

    • Coleagues, let’s not be myopic, any Government including the PF government is voted for a period of 5 years according to the laws of this country. Therefore, failure or success of this government will be discussed reasonably at mid term or at the end of 5 years. We as Zambians have the right to vote in or out any none-perfoming group of politians. For me let’s support the government of the day for them to deliver just like we voted them into power.

    • @ 4.2
You’ve got to be kidding me. I must wait for mid-term for the PF to start performing when they promised us jobs within 90 days. Big No Ways! It is our collective obligation as voters to remind them that it is now 11 months since they made those 90 days promises to us. They need to pull up their socks.

  2. Ka winter it is almost one year and you are there talking bullshit.people have lost hope because there are no sign of any development coming .the only development we are seeing is naming of institution by satana

  3. Yes Zambians have come a long way but they have been taken advantage of all the time. This needs to stop. Development is done with the peope and not to the people.

  4. Please dont just talk. As #2 has put it, you need to give us something, a clear direction, because of late you have clearly been operating like lost souls

  5. THIS GUY IS PARTY SECRETARY NOT GOVERNMENT SPOKES PERSON. IN THE STRUCTURE OF THE GOVERNMENT HE IS NOWHERE TO BE FOUND. THEIR FRIENDS APPOINTED DORA SILIYA AND SHE WAS A MINISTER SO SHE HAD ALL THE RIGHTS TO SPEAK ON BEHALF OF THE GOVERNMENT.
PLEASE DISTINGUISH BETWEEN PARTY STRUCTURE AND GOVERNMENT. WE KNOW YOU ARE CHIMBWI NO PLAN BUT TRY TO FOLLOW PROTOCAL. NOW YOU ARE TALKING OF BEING PATIENT YOU MEAN EVEN A 90 YEAR OLD WOMAN SHOULD WAIT FOR 5 YEARS TO SEE YOUR EFFORTS? THINK TWICE WINTER KABIMBA!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. Ba Kabimba, mwalipwa, since when did you sober up? You sound confused in your statement. Certain things a beyond you, look, you are not even in governement so what are you talking about? Saka labunga wants to be PF president sooner than later, and he is yapping, unintelligibles so where does that leave you? Look at Sakeni, think poverty yalimwikata sana when he was languishing in some village in Luapula, now he thnks with his mouth, your President is also in his own pleasure dome, very quiet, and who are you, your plan of remaining in PF as SG, and spring to the top, is not working and won’t work, because there will be blood.

  7. Mr Kabimba you are still promising on your promises? Please go to work, one in power just just promiising & intimidating HH & accusiing him of been bitter & tribal, when are you going to start delivering on your promises? Pf under Sata is offering selfless services to the people; which services, after increasing your salaries by 100%? Is this what you meant when you were saying more money in your pockets? The only interest of the Zambian people as at now is to hear from you, what strategies your government has put in place for employment creation, economic development strategies etc. Otherwise, as things are now its very hard to believe your rhetoric that the redemption of Zambia lies in the Pf government.

  8. Mr Kabimba said the PF will not disappoint the Zambians but will deliver on all its promises.

Summer is still talking about “Will”. Okey. This is 1 year already. Where is the blueprint or the road map of this will deliver. Sir in Bemba they say Tafisa nga meno Things don’t come without planning.

And Mr Kabimba said the PF runs an all-inclusive government, which is why it embraces the opposition..

Inclusive my foot!!!. When you are bent on destroying all credible opposition. Persecuting the well meaning Zambian opposition. Ploy to de-register MMD, Arrest and intimidate UPND Deport Priests etc.

  9. During KK’s days, ZBC newscasters used to start with words like ‘UNIP means progress’, ‘the future of the nation lies in UNIP’ etc. I see this has been resurrected with Wynter claiming that ‘the redemption of the country lies in PF’ by just replacing UNIP with PF. UNIP policies failed, and your socialist non-policies are headed nowhere you guys. If prices of goods are increasing everyday, what hope have the people that you are asking for patience from have? Get down to work and stop just making promises.

  10. Ba Kabimba,
We all supported you all the way, but we feel dumped by what is happening.
    1. The recruitment and retention allowances were removed in bad faith. Pls start paying graduates accordingly. With that removal we had no salary increament.
    2. The introduction of transport allowance is not making sense. Increase the % pls.
We all want money in our pockets.

  11. ba kabimba sounds sober for the first time. has he realised that he needs the support of teh oppossition to govern this nation peacefully to prosperity. hope someone has pumped some sense into him. he became so pompous all of a sudden and thinks PF has all the monopoly of wisdom to ruel this nation and develop it without the support of the oppossition. humility is the key my big man.

  12. We are tired of promises, we want tangible development. If promises were horses by now I would own 1million of them.

  13. I feel sorry for people who are expecting pf to produce results. Its cnp all the way.Ever heard them tell the nation how they will do what they say they will do?

  14. Useless PF gvt.Shameless fools trying to fool us too..You can only fool those that have no brains as for me PF is finished even a dustbin is too good for you

  15. Mr Kabimba, people can only be patient if they are clear about your plans or direction. Right now there is nothing this government has to show us that we are headed somewhere. So, stop yapping because we are not stupid. Just admit that you have failed and that you have no plan for this country. Don’t take us for granted.

  16. THIS KABINDA WHO IS RED LIB IS A LIER AND HIS MASTEER SATA CAN NO LONGER CONTINUE CHEATING THE YOUTHS,,,SATA IS TYPICAL FAILURER…HE IS HIDING FROM HIS LIERS..ZAMBIANS WAKE UP|

  17. DEAR SIR,AS EX ZAMTEL WORKERS WE ARE SLOWLY STARTING TO DOUBT PF,S ABILITY TO HONOR ITS PROMISES.THE PRESIDENT MR MC SATA STOOD ON THE PLATFORM AND BEGGED THE ZAMBIAN PEOPLE INCLUDING EX ZAMTEL EMPLOYEES TO VOTE FOR HIM AND PF SO THAT HE ASCENDS TO POWER….AND THAT WHEN HE GETS THE POWER HE WILL GIVE THE EX ZAMTEL EMPLOYEES THEIR JOBS BACK….WELL WE VOTED AND MR SATA AND PF ARE IN POWER…..AND WE ARE STILL ON THE STREETS….WHAT A PROMISE…….MR KABIMBA DOES NOT KNOW WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT….WE SHALL ONLY BELIEVE YOU WHEN YU GIVE BACK JOBS TO EX ZAMTEL EMPLOYEES…..OF COURSE NOT ALL OF THEM….BUT FOR NOW MOST PEOPLE ARE DOUBTING YOUR PROMISES….TIME WILL TELL

  18. I don’t see how people expect PF to develop this country in a year if themselves could not develop there homes the past 20 years.Keep ranting everyday, all you do is wake up…..rant and rant and rant……guys, help yours kids and families, however your frustration is,whoever comes into power, you will do the same except stupid people (wangu ni wangu )…….This is Africa, remember that….Democracy came too quick.

  19. My friend time is money and come 2016 do not ask for more time. The time, money and energy you are wasting in responding on every criticism you can channel it to developmental issues.

  20. For the first time Winter being sober! Things are well for these guys. Winter you involved yourself in a mess. How do you rub shoulders with a cohort of uneducated. The likes of GBM. Find something better to do Mr Lawyer!

  21. Ba Kabimba u are so confused and surely ashamed. U begged for votes and u got them, u wanted power there u are. Time frame for change set by yourselves= 90 days. How many 90 days u got so far 4 (almost). Achievements, fat pockets of PF leaders and empty ones for the masses. What then are u if one party does their part but u turn around after that, a liar. U are now trying to beg for patience so that u can lie even more. So vote of no confidence and your term expired in real terms after 90 days now u are just raping the Zambian people we are already fed up with u, u are surely disgusting.

  22. Kabimba says, ‘the PF will not disappoint the Zambians but will deliver on all its promises’. By using the word ‘will’ means he continues to make promises forgetting that the 90 days are long gone. Let Kabimba be reminded that time is not on his side and must stop fooling around and taking the people for granted. What has he and his party and government done in terms of development in the 11 months? Nobody will believe his lies.

  23. CNP Government, just increasing their salaries Hypocrites!!! Sata is a Hypocrite bad kind he gave RB sleepless night for increasing his salary, now look at the who criticised RB he has increased his two time within a year. What a HYPOCRITE!!!!!

  24. CNP Government, just increasing their salaries Hypocrites!!! Sata is a Hypocrite bad kind he gave RB sleepless night for increasing his salary, now look at the person who criticised RB he has increased his two times within a year. What a HYPOCRITE!!!!!

  25. We lost hope ba Kabimba when 1. the 90 days elapsed, 2. the Barotse Agreement was not honoured, 3. windfall tax was abandoned, 4. police harrass opposition parties, 5. Farmers’ cotton selling price was reduced, 6. Farmers’ maize was not bought, 7. PF cadres were appointed into diplomatic missions and District Commissioners, 8. retaintion allowance for graduates was removed, 9. you allowes street vendors to continue, 10. increased number of ministries, 11. increased number of people accompanying the President, 12. increased ZESCO tarrifs and load shedding, 13. have selective development projects for Muchinga, Northern and Luapula, 14. realign districts and implement minimum wage without consultation of stakeholders, 15. policy direction is not clear- list goes on- give us clear roadmap.

  26. Co-operative governance is the only way to push Zambia, Africa forward despite any change of ruling party in government. Even if PF was to lose in 2016 HH, UNDP or MMD will not restore the economy or fulfill the empty promises to the masses of Zambians. Everyone who is educated or not should see that. MMD has the skilled people, UNDP vision, HH not too sure but form cooperating solutions will work…this is 21 century on good idea won’t solve any economic and political problem….PERIOD

  27. Winter you are an *****. Promises every day. Thats why your govt is full of standard three material eg UKWA and this grade four ***** GBM.

  28. #30 well addressed…totally agree….but what good has been done to intellectually assess the findings otherwise we will all join the wagon of critics and lose sight

  29. There is an old saying……”At times its better to stay silent and have people wonder why you said nothing, than to say something and have people wonder why you said what you said it”… This lawyer does not know when to do what..

  30. Point of correction, Kabimba. It ‘s not just the party; it’s the party and it’s government that should perform.

  31. pf should just apologize to Zambians for many lies they made during the campaigns.if it is in other countries, the Pf Government would have resigned on moral grounds.Up to now the people of Zambia don’t even know the work plan for Pf.MMD brought democracy and liberalized the economy. Please Mr.Kabimba tell us your road map.

  32. I have to say that this has come a little too late. If Wynter and Snr Govt ministers made such statements early on, instead of engaging in political witch hunting and harassing of opposition leaders, such a statement could be taken as read and peharps with some understanding. However, the PF have exposed themselves for what they are – A bunch of liers and traitors who are prepared to do anything despite the cost to Zambia.

  33. SO WHO IS KABIMBA IN THIS GOVT.
WHY IS THE PARTY APOLOGIZING ON BEHALF OF AN ARROGANT GOVT OF GBM ETC.
OH SORRY FORGOT THAT WE BACK IN UNIP WHERE IT IS THE PARTY AND ITS GOVT.

  34. Mr. Denial, sir
Wake up and smell the coffee, the people who mandated you to commandeer the country in the direction of prosperity are on a different page at this point in time now. Stop defending your position by shifting the blame to your usual scape gate (Mr.HH), put differently, stop shifting goal posts when ordinary citizens are attempting to escape the man-made grinding poverty cycle. Listen to the calls of ordinary poor Zambians, and what they want is change in terms of meeting basic human needs i.e. food, shelter, water, employment, education, healthy etc. Do not give them your usual prescriptions of marathon speeches about how the bruising battle between you and Mr.HH will play out. People respect Mr.HH and you have turned him into a household name. South Africans love him

  35. I DONOT KNOW ABOUT OTHERS; AS FOR ME I WILL CONTINUE WAITING. WHEN PF ACHIEVES,I WILL BE THE LOUDEST LAUGHING AT YOU GUYS. HE WHO LAUGHS FIRST LAUGHS THE FAINTIEST, BUT HE WHO LAUGHS LAST, LAUGHS THE LOUDEST

  36. Wish you good luck in your negotiations, however, do not relax that much because the patience of ordinary Zambians is wearing thin. It will be irresponsible for any human to opt to be passive and completely indifferent to your government just like the majority loyal voters are indifferent to a charismatic leader, especially when the bread and butter issues remain unaddressed. Fighting with the UNPD does not create an image of maturity on the part of government leaders who continuously use the media as a platform to instill mistrust, fear and retardation of development which the highly internationally respected late Mwanawasa worked so hard to initiate and sustain. Give young Zambians a chance to change the nation i.e. Mr HH. We do not want another Zimbabwe in this region, but a prosperous

  37. iwe wynter wat more tym do u want, wen u are there busy fattening ur stomachs and making fools out of yourselves at the xpense of development. just wait and see, zambains are watching.look at obvious mwaliteta, he was a very thin man just 11 months ago. look at him today, kwati akana ka nsomfu. u guys hv grown big headed….

  38. People situated south of the Limpopo river ( Africa’s power house) want to have a better insight as to who Mr. Hakainde Hichelema is because he speaks so well, he very assertive not aggressive, please note the difference between the terms in their respective contexts. Note that he is very convincing and articulate. Here in S. Africa we talk money and not just money but billions in long term projects more importantly in DRC, Angola, Zambia. These three countries are central to meaningful development.Billionaires here are more interested in Mr. HH, as he seen to be a capitalistic oriented figure and a transformational leader north of the Limpopo river. We love you Mr. HH.,wish you long live and a prosperous political career.

  39. I hope u will not come and starting developing the nation two weeks before elections like MMD did.We will not listen yo 90 days is over remember.

  40. The people entrusted you with the power and you have abused it. This tribal and nepotistic club masquerading as government has been a big disappointment to the thinking people of this country. The governance issues are other reasons why your party is loosing support not only with the citizenry, but the NGOs and the international community. You shape up or just ship out!!

  41. Sorry for minor omissions in my above comments but the message was not altered in anyway, I omitted verbs like is. Viva Zambians, Viva, Mayibuye ilizwe eli lihle, Zambia yabahlali abase Zambia. Viva all progressive Zambians, both young and old or disabled and not disabled

  42. You wonder why Ukwa can not make public appearances in recent times; he got a fright when the youths confronted him for jobs at the show grounds! Such is the groundswell of discontent with his government. Unless he can make drastic changes in the way he wants to lead, he can be assured of a very pumpy ride to 2016.

  43. One thing i have noticed is that these PF guys keep exchanging temperaments. When one goes biseck others become sober. It started with kabimba and kambwili going wild, then Shandevu, now these guys have sobered up. The time now is for sakeni, GBM saladi, and Edgar Lungu. Interesting indeed. What a cycle.

  44. pf simply needs to apologise for the 90 days fake promise…no government has ever achieved what was promised in 90 days.the point is development can be attained, but not in that short space of time.but even though adequate time is requierd to attain those goals, signs should be there to show that atleast we hearding in the direction of attaining those goals.

  45. Put everything to God in prayer. Love for one another is very cardinal. If I love my neigbour, I will not still from him, not hate, will not wish him ill.

  46. Yes bwana you have 5 yearsin which you have to prove to us that you meant well for us. If you go in the MMD way then know that come 2016 , dear PF it will be tough for you though there is no any political party wot of forming gonvernment now. So work hard Kabimba , this is free advise to you bwana.

  47. The PF government should deliberately start consistent dialogue with the opposition by creating a forum for discussions and ideas. They should not wait for the opposition to initiate that dialogue. A conducive environment should be created and engage all in “Brain-storming” for Zambia’s development. Another team they can assemble is one that goes around the diaspora to engage the rich brains living outside the country for their participation in Zambia’s development by garnering their ideas on the best way forward for Zambia. If we dwell on mesmerizing ourselves on the 2011 election victory, we will do so until 2016 and find that we moved nothing tangible in development except squabbles and intimidation!

  48. Kabimba and your PF are  intoxicated with power and  have become myopic.Come 2016 you and your blind PF are going.Zwaaaaaa!!!!!!!

  49. In the history of the modern world no country has ever achieved meaningful development with the calibre of people like PF in government. Under PF Zambia is simply a joke.

  50. I laughed out when I heard that HH and fellow tribalists are embarking on nation-wide rallies. Nation-wide, my foot. I suppose they mean the bantustan ‘nation’!

  51. I think kabimba boyi ulicipuba sana,on your promisses it was 90days now you are saying 10years BA CNP,because you promiss more money in the pocket in 90days better road in 90days better hospitals/jobs for younth/ good clinic/better school and many many more in 90days but why now 10years?we are not fools my friend kabimba, bye bye bye CNP gorvenment.

  52. guys, what winter is saying is that – “panadol yakana bazati pasa tembusha”. He thinks that will work

  53. es: AFK, COPX, CU, FXI

A variety of conflicting signals from Zambia in recent weeks demands a closer look at what’s driving its economic policy and the implications for Global X Copper Miners ETF (COPX), First Trust ISE Global Copper Index Fund (CU) and Market Vectors Africa (AFK).

The confusion kicked off with an announcement from President Michael Sata’s government that a plan to rebase the currency by three decimal places has since been put on hold. Meanwhile, it has outlawed the use of foreign currency in domestic goods and services transactions, with penalties for transgression that include up to 10 years in prison. The immediate upshot of this measure was a short-term appreciation for the kwacha as Zambians rushed to sell dollars through official channels.

  54. lost hope coz suffering has continued e.g no freedom to drive on the roads especially in chingola traffic officer are stealin frm us,every trafic offence is impoundable.they dont agree if u tel thm tht u wil pay later, just want bribes, tonga boss esp

  55. What has gone wrong with the Zambian people…you danced and were parting till the break of dawn and it was donchi kubeba all the way till inaguration day. This sounds to be the same song P.Kazembe alluded to when the woman stated crying foul for having been cheated by her boy friend.Davie?
