Chief Government Spokesman Kennedy Sakeni says it is a pity that the five opposition parties, led by the MMD have continued congregating at meaningless press conferences for the sole purpose of whimpering about non-controversial issues.

Mr. Sakeni , who is also Information and Broadcasting minister, said in a statement today that, it is becoming clear that the MMD and their miniature partners, namely the UPND, ULP, ADD and ZDDM are a lost cause, that are grappling for some relevance in the country’s political landscape.

The MMD finds itself led by a leader whose legitimacy as head of the party has come under severe test and whose credentials are extremely questionable, given his turncoat history and career.

The UPND and its leadership does not command sufficient respect from the Zambians and lack the necessary credibility to judge the PF government.

It is laughable that ADD, ULP and ZDDM should even merit a platform to talk on serious national issues. The question Zambians may need to ask themselves is whether these three non-entities represent anybody’s interests.

“ These three parties are personal corners of their leaders without any following whatsoever, ‘ he said.

He said the government wishes to assure Zambians that progress is being made in terms of governance and development.

The political atmosphere has improved tremendously from the time PF took over and the economy has continued to grow. Therefore time for politicking is well behind us.

  1. Lekeni tulandeko. Ba sakeni kwena, is that good reasoning? If governance has improved, then why deny them a permit to hold the rally so that we zambians can listen to their cry? If there is development in Zambia, show us the fruits?

  2. And what are we supposed to make of your “living in denial” press conferences Mr Sakeni? Even a wife beater often thinks he’s the perfect husband.Wake up from your slumber coz even dictators in North Korea and Iran are laughing at your blindness.

  3. Seriously, now I have to question the people that vote for these people…
Word of advice to PF leades and their supporters: You reap what you sow, you are fare from sowing unity and togetherness, watch out for the flipside as tables turn. You are in a boat, a sinking boat, there is no land in sight, they say a drowning man will clutch at a straw. Respect the tennets of life.

  4. I see that the most Zambians are surely good at Condemning and bickering. If each of these guys where given a chance to be in the ruling party; how would they have handled the bickering going on. I feel the entire opposition is headed for a doom. I sit eagerly disappointed with them. Doesn’t everyone realize that they are just making the ruling party stronger than ever before. Because for now, it’s either you belong to this coalition or to the PF. Who can really trust such? Fact for now is that opposition coming together has never and will never work in Zambia. Mark my words. Look at how lamentably such have always failed in the past.

  5. Iwe chi Sunken Boat you are not even suppose to comment on this one, just talk about what the Poor Fools have done if there is any. Is there anything to talk about the opposition rally really ba sunken boat? You are just afraid of k Nevers Mumba.

  6. Ok I like african politics.every govt faces challenges like fuel, mealie meal, power, riots etc.but the oppositions tend to pretend as though these are polically contrlled and the law of demand and supply doest exist. Now they want to hold a rally to talk about this.who can allow this.let the opposition give an agenda for their rally.if mmd was weak on the public order act should pf also be.every one attacks the weakest part of the defence and protects the strongest and most important part of the kingdom.MMD is preaching its own extinction.

    • @DK Monk
It is frightening at how dull and un enlightened some people are over leadership issues. How do you suggest that “mealie meal shortages, fuel, power, riots” are not politically controlled? All your bumper harvests have ended up in Zimbabwe (donated), and other countries in the region, fuel in Malawi and you say “demand and supply”! How foolish can one be? Govt should plan ahead and reserve stock to last two farming seasons and not use surplus stock every season to enrich themselves and their families. That’s what the PF did soon after coming into power. We all know that! People riot when their fundamental rights are infringed…

  7. That is former OP officer talking, am sure he knows alot about POA laws which opposition parties are crying about.Maybe Mumba and HH should consult him, am sure he will tell them how presidential security wings works.

  8. A good road infrastructure is a major catalyst in attaining national economic development.

President Michael Sata’s commissioning of the K27 trillion Link Zambia-8000 road projects aimed at connecting outlying areas of Zambia to all the 10 provinces and to be implemented over a five-year period, Chipewo, who is a chartered transport and logistics expert, said it was gratifying to see the PF gover…nment giving attention to the development of road networks.
“If what the President launched recently can be replicated many times over, we shall stop poverty in this country because any good road infrastructure is a mechanism to attaining economic development because it opens up the country to improve provision of goods and services.

The cost of production in the country would be reduce

  9. Surely these press conferences will be meaningless, if opposition leaders will be talking about single ladies who will be denying their PF boyfriends seksual inter corse.!!!!

  10. I am enjoying this, well spoken Hon Sakeni from Liverpool (Luapula). Ati “they are non entities and their miniature partners, namely the UPND, ULP, ADD and ZDDM are a lost cause. It is laughable that ADD, ULP and ZDDM should even merit a platform to talk on serious national issues. The question Zambians may need to ask themselves is whether these three non-entities represent anybody’s interests.”

“ These three parties are personal corners of their leaders without any following whatsoever,

  11. This man does not know that he is government spokesman NOT party spokesman. He should be explaining government programmes NOT party/political issues. Who is PF spokesperson?

  12. The opposition would be stupid not to question the ruling party on these serious matters.Saken why deny them permits if they dont matter

  13. i have never seing a dull and stupid person like sakeni,so you can not see what your boss want to do, u ll be the first one to run,God is fair am warning you,if @ all so many people complain God is fair.remember what happened in north africa soon ll happen in zambia, don’t think we fools

  14. Some of these so called Cabinet ministers…awe shuwa…luckily its the only job you get with no thinking; no qualification other than the fact they are breathing…..if having a working brain was included as a qualification, people like the so called Chief GRZ spokesperson would not make it. Each time he speaks you gasp and hold your mouth and just wonder if there isn’t a village missing an ***** somewhere….

  15. Sakeni, you deserve to be saked!

You are not the opposition any more. You are government.

Furthermore, you did not call for the press conference, the opposition did. No one asked you to judge whether the meeting was meaningful or not. As far as the opposition and those who support them are concerned, the meeting was addressing issues the perceive to be of great importance.

You Sakeni must concentrate on the proper governance of Zambia, or else leave your office to a worthy person.

  16. De way dese against Mr Sakeni are responding show dat we are still a long way 2 go as a country.Ycn’t dey answer him accordingly. Dey are blank and want 2 take advantage of the Poa .ls it really being objective 2 c’pare zed 2 ada tyrranical c’ntries

    • They hold press conference every week that is freedom enough mind you no one has supported the oppositions stand shame on you PF has worn international recognition

  17. Sakeni you have a small brain. 15 months ago you were crying foul over non-approval of permits to hold rallies but today you are in power and you are doing exactly the same..

  18. Sakeni Sakeni ugly arrogant man you ending shall be worse than MMD we are watching RB was told and they ignored.mind u dont think its PF that removed MMD it the people and they shall do the same to PF no matter how much you try and arrest or do whatever to them. One day just One day

  19. Dull HH how do you hold a rally to talk about mealie meal supply shame on you this shows that the private sector has failed if I was the president I would set up Maize Milling Companies. Please opposition tell us what you can do for the Zambians

    • You useless Zambian, you mean you are the only one who does not know that all these sagas including mealie meal have been caused by Plot 1 bad policies. Why are PF members so stupid, this is why we are going nowhere in our country.

  20. freedom is freedom regardless of a number of people in a grouping. Mr Ape are you mad. the constitution does not look at numbers. those are rights and freedoms every zambian should enjoy. it shows how dull this monkey really is. no basic symptoms of reasoning. stupid indeed

  21. A democrat will always fight for the right of every one to express their opinion even if they dis agree with them. It is evem more important if those people are in minority because change and progress usually come from those who have a different opinion.

  22. The main idea to purchase a blood pressure monitor is because you want a fast and accurate machine that you can easily operate at home. You want something that straps on and with a push of a button reads and finishes the reading in less than 3 minutes. That’s the standard you want to put up.
