We don’t want Rallies in our Township

Share

File: A rally in Mandevu

Allow me through your newspaper to make an appeal to the Inspector General of Police and her staff.

Please save us from these people who are going around masquerading as Opposition Party leaders by allowing rally permits only in an election year or when official campaigning starts. We cannot have rallies everyday or every weekend. We are sick and tired of useless rallies that only create confusion and bred hatred among our citizens.

[pullquote]Next time HH applies for a permit tell HH to find a venue somewhere in Kabulonga were he lives so that he and his neighbours can also experience the sight of seeing unruly and drunk cadres urinating on his yard or the walls of his house like we do.
[/pullquote]

Before official campaigning starts the opposition can use other avenues for disseminating their message and selling themselves. They don’t need to depend on rallies only. And if I may ask, why is it that all rallies are held in townships (Mutendere, Kanyama etc) and never in places like Kabulonga, Rhodes park etc?

Next time HH applies for a permit tell HH to find a venue somewhere in Kabulonga were he lives so that he and his neighbours can also experience the sight of seeing unruly and drunk cadres urinating on his yard or the walls of his house like we do. This is what we people in the townships have to deal with every time a rally is brought into our neighbourhoods. It is we, the residents of these townships who have to clean up the mess that they leave behind after the rally while they disappear in their vehicles.

[pullquote]A small village in Switzerland has lowered taxes for its people due to money coming from copper mined in Mufulira. The only benefit for our people living in Mufulira is carbon monoxide.
[/pullquote]

Please Ba Inspector General in addition to providing a list of the Marshalls ask them also what arrangements have been made for toilets etc. As I have mentioned above these cadres expose themselves in front of our children because of a lack of toilets at the venues used for these rallies.

Finally, the agenda of the aborted rally in Mutendere Township left me utterly disgusted. A small village in Switzerland has lowered taxes for its people due to money coming from copper mined in Mufulira. The only benefit for our people living in Mufulira is carbon monoxide. They are living in a semi-gas chamber and the opposition only have time to talk about mealie meal shortages. Please Mr. HH and others, unlike mealie meal there is no known substitute for oxygen.

    • the reason why rallies are held in the kombonis is because there high poverty and iliteracy levels in these kombonis. its these illiterate people who vote using mob psychology and not really analyse issues and vote for progressive leadership. people in the kombonis may not have the previledge to have a tv to watch what other people can offer the country as they are constantly blocked. so the only way is to go to them door to door or rally and speak to tem,so that they vote wisely next time. but i agree with the author when he says, such large rallies should have provisions like toilets and the likes. its true. organisation of such things should also encompass ama toilet. i dont know if its the councils duty to facilitate such after a permit has been sought or its the organisers of the rally

    • Oh no shame bane nkashi lupato talwakapwe awe chabulanda nabo bamunonko ebo uletungilila ala efyo baisangile ku state house. Baleiletelela fye inga abantu balekukanya fimo abaleumfwa kuti batila katumone ifyo bale kanya.

  1. So it means even before elections there shouldn’t be any political getherings/ rallies, then how do the parties sell themselves to the voters and potential voters? I think the writer is simply a PF cadre and using a mundane way of justifying the denial of permits to the opposition. Rallies have always been there since Zambia became a ”democratic” nation so why stop them now.
Le’s just say our country has gone to the dogs and it’s pathetic people like th writer who tolerate cheap politics being reintroduced by the PF that cause our country to have stunted development,it is very clear the writer is a cadre as he has singled out parties in his sick statement, shameful indeed!!!

    • How does holding rallies foster development Mr. Jigga? If rallies fostered development, Zambia would be very developed by now. Please get some wisdom before you start showing your stup.id.ty here. The writer is right about these rallies they hold in kombonis. If they can provide toilets and other logistics that ensure sanity at the end of the rally then they can go ahead. And like the writer correctly puts it, they sjould also hold rallies in their suburbs.

    • You are very right. One wonders if sata had to provide toilets to his cadres when he started rallies as early s he lost his elections. What the fools like this tribalist in the name of P Mwansa and all those PF supporters who are supporting him are forgetting is that offering checks and balances to a deaf government such as the PF one is through rallies because that is what they fear. The opposition cannot even be given fair coverage on ZNBC and now PF have even bought the likes of Muvi TV just to ensure that the opposition is not head. If you fools supporting this tribalist by the name of P Mwansa are enjoying, there are many of us who are feeling the pinch of high mealie meal prices and shortages.

  2. No one was going to force this pfool to attend the rally.

political rallies have never been illegal in Zambia and I would certainly advise the opposition to do more rallies to educate the people on the diminishing levels of freedom in the country.

    • I think it is not good to rush to insult Mwansa, we don’t know the genuineness of any persons who write and blog on these sites. People might be blogging from State House or UPND Secretariat. That does not mean that all their thoughts are wrong. We can take the positives out of it and leave the trash.

  3. Foolish bemba man ‘mwansa’ who doesnt see anything wrong in Sata’s govenment, what a pity!!! HH MILUPI,SAKI,NEVERS ZED we love you keep exposing this dictator. The world is watching

    • Which world is watching? Just work harder on your own instead of yapping daily! You are the people who bring the country backwards because of your mentality. Complain less, and work hard for your living bwana!! Your friends are busy progressing and you are busy complaining daily! Get ideas from those who are progressing. Ask them how they got their capital. Some just had to sell their assets to get capital, and now they are comfortable. And you, just busy politicking. I wouldn’t prescribe to that! Thanks.

  4. You could be right in your on way but one thing you should not forget is that even the ruling party now that is how they ascended to power. That time it was not noise and all sorts of messy around let them meet the people it is never early my friend.I will be comfortable if you say you hate the opposition because you are in the ruling party shame on you.

    • Thank you for sharing the video Mafukeni, it really proves that the peace we claim in Zambia is actually passivity and that the people we put in power are not really concerned about the welfare of the people. Why would the government keep quiet and listen to Mopani keep reporting losses or profits less than they make when everyone knows that the only reason why a multinational corporation is not a charity that would continue operating with losses. I am also glad to see that while the government is quiet about such issues, citizens and others concerned about the welfare of humankind are doing something about it. Thank you Saviour and the CTPD team and the Mufulira residents for something about the situation our people are facing in Mufulira, we can’t afford to remain docile.

    • Thank you for the link am from mufulira and it pains that our politicians are busy politicking  instead of addressing important issues raised in the video. zed  katwishi

  5. its clear that the writer is a PF Cadre. in townships there are more pipo than mumayadi and pipo in townships are the ones who vote anyways so its strategy go in townships where you can get part of the 40,000 votes.

    • People you always insult as kaponya? The ones you always underrate?  Why going to the townships of Kaponyas? Why cant you go to the educated and have rallies with them?  I think Mwansa amilasa guys.

    • @the truth hates. nalasa pama toilet bt about the rallies being held muma yadi,he is not just being realistic. mu komboni is where the votes are. mumayadi people can have the previledge of tv and other sources of information.how do you communicate to the kombonis then? tabakwete tv,radio, cant buy newspaper and dont have money to go to a rally in kabulonga, and that is considering that the media gives coverage to opposition.so how do you get to them, kubakonka door to door or rally thats all. the problem pa zed is the kaponya.they are always used, they dont reason for themselves.if you dont believe me watch the interview of the boys who hounded kachingwe from mmd. then you will know what zambia is my friend.the youth in these kombonis are being used.we must try to make them reason for themslvs

  6. STUUPID IDDIOT IWE CHI MWANSA. WHEN YOU TALK ABOUT “WE” WHO ARE YOU REPRESENTING. YOU ARE NOT A COUNCILLOR BUT JUST A MERE DRUNKARD FROM MAYELA NITE CLUB AND WITH YOUR HANGOVER YOU WANT TO REGURGITATE YOUR DEBRIS ON THIS FORUM. NEXT TIME LEARN TO SPEAK FOR YOURSELF AND NOT FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE HUMBLE PEOPLE OF MTENDERE. YOU ARE JUST BUT ONE INSCT IN THE WHOLE OF MTENDERE WHOSE OPINION COUNTS FOR NOTHING BUT JUST FOR THE DUSTBIN.

  7. The writer is a Bemba tribalist who at all cost supports his tribal president even if, he is suffering himself because of this tribal govt. How can you have 10 ministers from one tribe out of 19

  8. iyo kwena ..elo cha shupa nomba…ba mwansa just stay away …dont infringe on other peoples rights of association ah ah …bantu aba ba dza bvuta..us kitwe residents ,especially ise ba ku ma parklands..we remember PF being in opposition and the chaos that would be there everytime they had a rally in freedom park…we just stayed behind our wall fences..because we understood democracy

  9. Something to ponder about, this is a reasonable question ” why is it that all rallies are held in townships (Mutendere, Kanyama etc) and never in places like Kabulonga, Rhodes park etc? Only morons with heads in their butt holes will brush this off as rubbish. Does it mean people who live mumayadi never vote? BAN RALLIES UNTIL 2 MONTHS BEFORE ELECTIONS.

    • Well, Wanzili must have his butt in his head (poop for brains). Townships are the major population centers. Politicians obviously want their message to reach as many people (voters) as possible.

    • Imwe timuzibani. No sense ever comes out of your head. Can’t you see you are drifting away from rational reasoning. The question you are asking can be answered by a grade two. Its about population density and space. Just give it a little thought, assuming you have the capacity.

    • I guess poor people are easier to hoodwink with chitenges and empty talk. Those others are the educated type who vote issues.

  10. what other avenues are available to them I wonder? the public media sure won’t cover them…You seem enlightened about the Tax avoidance schemes by the mines, air pollution etc. Why don’t YOU pose these questions to the government yourself instead of expecting HH to address them to the people through “other avenues” as you put it?

  11. Anyway rallies are important democratic process. The low of averages makes us conclude that the people who live in those areas mentioned are more illiterate, misinformed and politically inept than the folks who live in Kabulonga!

  12. Dear Mwansa-
Rallies are held in the townships bcoz that is were you find the poor, unemployed, iliterates, no roads, no sewage facilities, no clean water, unplanned structures-in short underdevelopment is more visible in the compounds. It is also a place you find the people who were promised more money in their pockets. And politics being a game of numbers you target places with high population. Politics i s about the rich taking advantage of the Poor! The rich pretending to have a heart for the poor inorder to enrich themselves! Once voted in power the rich forget about the PooR! The Poor become Poorer and the Rich Richer!

    • You started your contribution very well but lost it when you started your sentence “Politics being about the rich …….” My friend, if what you are saying was true, then all nations of the world would have the same political and economic trends. I don’t think that is the case, and it is not. The last part of your contribution manifests poor and undesirable beliefs and values not subscribed to by decent humans.

  13. Going by the Insults people in the compounds receive from HH and UPND, I think Mwansa is very right. You insult people in the compunds that they are uneducated, Kaponyas who do not wash their bodies. How come today you want to have rallies in their areas every day?

Please go to your fellow educated Kabulonga people….take your rallies to Rhodespark, Ollympia, Kalundu —the areas of your educated fellows. Leave the Kaponya alone, dont disturb them with your vulgar insults…shaaa.

Peace and Prosperity to Mother Zambia.

    • Where the Hell did you hear those insults you are attributing to HH and UPND? Are you drunk or just hallucinating? Ooops sorry, I forgot you smoke ganja. Enjoy your smoke and hallucinations.

  14. Spot on next rally should be in Kabulonga . Br Mumba and HH please tell us your Agenda no need to hide in rallies that may bring confusion in our great country.Br Mimba as a Christian it’s not by power let the battle be won in the spirit. You can’t fight the Govt. a lone battle.

  15. I live in Kaunda Square Stage 2 and I agree with some of the concerns raised by the author. Rallies are never held in apamwamba residential areas for one reason. The organisers don#t respect the rights of people who live in townships. We are the pawns in this game. We are nobodies. Mr Mwansa thank you for enlightening us on our rights. I will be writing to our MP asking that residents of KQ be consulted before anyone can bring a rally to our neighbourhood. I think we too have a democratic right to refuse a rally in our neighbourhoods.

    • Foolish Mbeba boy, use yo human brain not rat brain….. ur a Mbuya so watch out ka Banda iwe kapuli waumfwa….??????????

  16. We kaponya dont need rallies any more since our fellow kaponya are now in power. Can HH and Nevers go to kabulonga and campaign there were their fellow rich and educated people stay. We the uneducated dont want your speeches

    • Just go to school and stop being proud of your illiterate.
Do you think it’s something to be proud of?
It’s not too late to upgrade yourself.

  17. We kaponyas dont need rallies any more since our fellow kaponyas are now in power. Can HH and Nevers go to kabulonga and campaign there were their fellow rich and educated people stay. We the uneducated dont want your speeches

  18. Some political lesson for Mr. P Mwansa. First Zambia is a free country. It means we enjoy all the freedoms granted by the Constitution including feedom of expression, association and assembly. These can not be taken away by the Inspector-General whom you are appealing to. Her job is to support the Constitution. If you hate those who have different views from you, you should change the Constitution so that only those who agree with you enjoy the fredom of assembly. The peace you enjoy in Mtendere is there because people are free. If people feel oppressed you may have civil war and your peace in Mtendere will be at an end. Your home may be burned down in conflict. Allow people to assemble and speak freely. It is for your own good.

  19. Mr P Mwansa, with all the respect we have for you, please don’t expose your ignorance in this fora,in the first place, let me advise you that, in your articles, avoid using pronoun “we” because you don’t represent views of any person in the said compounds apart from people who have sponsored and hired you to write this article. In case you don’t know,Zambia is a democratic nation and one of the tenets of democracy is right to assembly therefore we don’t need to have disgruntled elements like you Mr Mwansa to take us back into old politics of Kaunda.Where were you when Sata was holding rallies in Kanyama,Chamawa,Mandevu etc? why therefore didn’t you raise the same complaint of environmental protection? So if you have nothing to say next time just shut up.

  20. Politicians want (b4 theyr in plot 1… noti) to better the lives of the poor and thats the target of any country including USA!! So why can a normal human being ask the already well to do about the injustices and increase in food prices which they hardly feel?? Its u the poor who feel the increment of akabunga, no water, power cuts, no roads etc. Common sense iwe ka Mwansa. U have been sponsored but 2de remember tomorrow u too will be affected. But guys stop insulting Bembas mwaumfwa???? Let the freedom of assembly be upheld and stop listening to politics of the belly from a ka Mwansa.

  21. Mwansa you forget that during political rallies there is a large concentration of people in one place and it gives us the street vendors a good opportunity to sell our merchandise such as fresh maize, finkubala, tomato etc. If you have now been given more money in your pockets please move away from our compounds and leave us with our political rallies that make us eat well at least for that day..

  22. Mwansa is a PF cadre who has no hope of improving his life and he is telling us his opinion…Unfortunately, other people in Kanyama etc need these rallies for sensitisation so that they can vote wisely. The problem with Mwansa, like all Bembas, is that he thinks he is more clever than everybody else…BUT he is NOT and is fact a FOOL!!! Problems afflicting his community due to poor planning and lack of vision by SATAN do not choose whether you are Bemba or not or whether your tribesman is ruling or not….you will die from Kanyama Floods or Hunger due to mealie meal shortages….Bakumayadi ku Kabulonga will take of themselves BUT you Mwansa can’t even feed yourself let alone a family!!!

  23. It is very saddening that the author could generalise his presentation in this manner. Zambia is a democratic country and the police have no right whatsoever to stop people from assembling. Rallies can be held anywhere and if I choose to hold a rally in a compound, so what? I feel the author is a PF cadre trying to justify the archaic public order act which the PF is using to stop others from reaching out to the electorate. I must warn the PF, including this author, that Zambia is bigger than PF and very soon the volcano will errupt and you shall have noweher to run. Right now it seems as if the people are not feeling the pain, but just wait. Kaunda thought he was in control and that no one could challenge him. He was removed by the same people. So watch out.

  24. Ba Mwansa, you are free and able to say all you wish because someone fought for that freedom including the 1990 riots that ushered in multi-partism. I wonder if you would be saying what you have said if your freedoms were restricted. Open your eyes and see that what the PF is doing is to systematically annihilate all form of opposition. They will not stop at that until they succeed even if it means to intimidate individuals from attending these rallies or gatherings. SO next they will target and intimidate you ba Mwansa but we will be there to listen to your compliants, in reverse of course.

  25. Mwansa, Zambians have freedom of Association and Assembly. Your tribal leader Sata enjoyed these freedoms. And he used them to ascend to power. Now that he is in State House id.iots like you want to stop people from enjoying these freedoms. If you continue on this blind self serving id.iotic course you risk setting Zambia on fire. Honestly people like you should confine yourselves to Muchinga and put this nonsense to practice in your tribal areas. We are in the 21st century for God’s sake!

  26. Opposition parties have a democratic right to hold rallies in any part of the country including Mutendere without any hindrance. But the people of areas like Mutendere where the rallies are to be held should also have the democratic right to have a say in whether they want a rally- with all its negative consequences mentioned by the writer like public urination, defecation, noise, pollution, and even riots – in their backyard.

  27. RALLIES ARE VERY UN PRODUCTIVE CONDUCTED AT WRONG PERIODS. RALLIES ARE FOR CAMPAIGNS AND NOT AFTER ELECTIONS. AFTER CAMPAIGN TIME ONLY PRESS CONFERENCE MUST BE HELD. WHAT IS A RALLY FOR THIS TIME? PLEASE, DON’T CONFUSE THE PEOPLE. JUST FACE COURTS ALONE DON’T DRAG IN PEOPLE WITH YOU. WHEN YOU STEAL YOU EAT THE MONEY ALONE. SO, WHEN YOU FACE ALLEGATIONS OF STEALING OR ANYTHING DON’T CALL FOR RALLIES IN ORDER FOR YOU TO APPEAR CLOSE TO GRASS ROOTS PEOPLE.

  28. @36.Peter spoken like the real id.iot that you are! You’ve not thought for a moment that this is “not your time or Sata’s that will be wasted” on these rallies? In short , it is none of your business. Who the heck do you think you are that you should have veto powers on other peoples’ activities or programmes. You foo.ls are so insecure that very soon you will start spying on your own children. You’re stup.idity is very nauseating! Primitive monkeys!

  29. MR MWANSA, THE ANSWER TO: “A small village in Switzerland has lowered taxes for its people due to money coming from copper mined in Mufulira.”
IS FOR ZAMBIA TO SET UP MANUFACTURING INDUSTRIES.THE COPPER THAT IS EXPORTED OVERSEAS IS USED IN MANUFACTURING INDUSTRIES TO MAKE THING LIKE POWER TOOLS (eg power nailers, power drills, power screw drivers, power cutting machines, etc) FOR HOME AND EXPORTS. THIS IS WHAT IS CALLED VALUE ADDITION. I HAVE READ ABOUT THE GOVERNMENT’S INTENTION TO STOP EXPORTING 50% OR MORE COPPER AND OTHER MINERALS TO OTHER COUNTRIES. THAT’S WHY THEY ARE SETTING UP MFEZs TO CONSUME MOST OF THE COPPER PLUS OTHER MINERALS. MFEZs CLUSTERS WILL BE USED TO SET UP MANUFACTURING PLANTS FOR VARIOUS ITEMS INCLUDING ELECTRONICS GADGETS FOR HOME MARKET AND EXPORT.

  30. from #42. WHEN WE REACH THAT LEVEL OF DEVELOPMENT WHERE WE HAVE MANUFACTURING AND FOOD PROCESSING INDUSTRIES IT SHALL BE ALMOST AUTOMATIC TO REDUCE TAXES. THIS IS BECAUSE, WE SHALL STOP IMPORTING MOST OF THE THINGS AND START EXPORTING THOSE ITEM TO NEIGHBOURING AND OVERSEAS COUNTRIES. THATS WHY YOUR SENTIMENTS AGAINST UNNECESSARY RALLIES ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT. PEOPLE MUST START WORKING HARD FOR US TO ACHIEVE THE STATE OF INDUSTRIALISATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ARTICLE, MR MWANSA. IT’S VERY SENSIBLE.

    • That’s something I absolutely agree with; the country needs to move to a less import dependent society and produce  a majority of our own goods. Look at how South Korea, made great strides to change their economy and now they have leading industries that export world wide. Africa, as a whole needs to make these changes and grow their manufacturing industries. Southern Africa formed SADC, however it has not been as effective as it ought to be.  Regarding rallies and the timing of when they are held. My personal thought is that they should be held maybe 2 yrs- 1 yr before general elections. Instead hold a press conference as a party or jointly as the opposition; it seems more mature. There’s either ZNBC, or MUVI TV pick your poison.

    • You two, above act like you’ve been living under a rock for the past 2 decades. We all know that our copper needs value addition, this song has been sung and is tired. The question is what are we doing to achieve this? Do we have a time frame to get these MFEZ up and running? Are we educating enough Zambians to work in these factories? What is the long-term plan? Rallies are an opportunity to connecting with the masses, encourage the ruling party to hold them as well, let them tell us what they are doing.

    • @Kapotwe Here’s my email if you would like a more candid and detailed response to your response: [email protected]. I will say this much though:
I.There’s no time frame because no government in has made this a priority; blame their incompetence.
II. Our education system needs some major changes in what areas educators need to focus – STEM (Science, Tech,Math) are vital if we are to create a pool of skilled labor
III. It’s not a question of muzzling them by saying ‘hold rallies’ during election season; they can connect to the ‘masses’ through TV Radio. Rallies are disruptive and seem to be used to progress their own political agenda’s rarely the public  or national agenda. Enough of the petty, immature behaviour from all parties.

  31. While I disagree fundamentally with most of Mwansa’s sentiments I must recognize a few points in his notes. The first is an observance of public health; perhaps there should be some standard venues that are located in areas that will not infringe on the residencies in the vicinity of the rally. The other notable argument you see is how it is that we allow big business to loot our economy with impunity while we bring out very local, and usually fleeting matters for discussion. These two points are significant to observe – the other matters are a toss up.

  32. Stnpid argument about one sided freedoms, why should freedom of assembly only exist in compounds and not in Woodlands for example. There are parks in Woodlands, parks in Kabulonga and parks in other apamwamba residential areas where political rallies can be held, so why aren’t they held there?. This is an important observation that needs to be given a fair share of thought by powers that be, we need to give our brothers and sisters in compounds some level of dignity they are also human beings just like these liars holding rallies behind their back yards.
I would like to submit that political rallies should only be held in stadiums and halls and not behind people’s houses because even poor people hate noise pollution.
STOP RALLIES IN COMPOUNDS, STOP RALLIES

  33. I agree with you and would sign that petition, msana wanzili #48. Mushota #49, A-holes become that very slowly – you are on your way.

  34. #48 cont.
and that includes unending religious crusades (am SDA by the way) they just irritate people most of the time. It’s time to break away from the norm, all forms of public gathering behind people’s homes need to be outlawed NOW.

  35. I do not support PF but this guy has a point. He is pointing out administrative flaws of rallies. Are toilet facilities provided? who cleans up the mess afterwards. Why should residents be subjected to the filth rallies leave behind. Actually the opposition should seek other means of reaching out.But with our current dictatorship they might just get arrested for speaking on radio or going to visit a chief.

  36. #3 BA MWANSA SAID IF THEY WANT A RALLY THEY CAN HOLD IT EVEN IN KABULONGA. WHY ONLY KALINGALINGA. SO HE DID NOT SAY THEY CAN’T, ABSOLUTELY. EBAPIPA AMAFI ABA KU KALINGALINGA NGA BANYA AMA RALLY GOERS. SO, HE SAYS LET THEM ALSO BE CLEARING THE MESS AFTER THE RALLY AND EXPERIENCE HOW COMFORTABLE UKUPIPA AMAFI KWABA. I TOTALLY AGREE WITH MR MWANSA. HE HAS RAISED MANY ISSUES IN HIS SIMPLE AND STRAIGHT FORWARD ARTICLE: HEALTH AND SAFETY, SECURITY, POLITICAL, ETC. HE IS VERY INGENIOUS.

  37. Mwansa is a sadist. If you dont need a doctor today, it does not mean others must not go to UTH also.
it is also about freedom of association.

  38. Mwansa, in short political rallies like any other gathering should be properly planned. It’s not just the message that politicians should be more concerned about, but the environment as well such providing movable portable toilets, and ensuring that everybody attending their rallies behave.

  39. the writer is not nomal u expect someone to have a rally in kabulonga were ther is plenty of food, its u in kanyama who needs beter education and drainage so dont be so stupid in thinking even if we knw dat ur just being used to write watever uhave said.

    • If rallias can bring development and answers to most of our problems then go to the villages.Only in Kitwe rallias are held at Freedom Park in Parklands. But the place is undeveloped.

    • but these are the guys you always insult as uneducated, kaponyas, thieves who dont wash their bodies. Why bothering them with your ralies? Take your rallies to your fellow educated people in Kabulonga. Shaaa.

  40. @45, Peter and 46, Cubu fimofimo, there was a documentary on ZNBC TV in the course of last week entitled “Why Poverty” It featured the ka same village in Switzerland and some big fish at the headquarters for Glencore (I stand to be corrected) and our own Mufulira’s Kankoyo township. It made very interesting viewing

  41. I now know that pf carders are indeed a bunch of foolsih people. You can’t see the mess this government has put the nation into. It is the like of this foolish mwansa and those supporting him who would sleep with a viper seeing nothing wrong until it bites them to death. Good lucky

  42. #4, I THINK YOU ARE THE ONE WHO IS A FOOL. HE WRITER HAS EXPLAINED THE INCONVENIENCES CAUSED BY THE RALLY IN COMPOUNDS. DON’T CALL HIM A FOOL. HE IS JUST A CONCERNED SENSIBLE MAN. WHEN A RIOT BREAKS IT WILL BE IN HIS RESIDENTIAL AREA, NOT IN KABULONGA WHERE HH, MUMBA AND OTHERS LIVE.WHEN RALLY GOERS DEFAECATE IT WILL BE KALINGALINGA RESIDENTS TO RID THEIR YARDS OF HUMAN DROPPINGS. AND A LOT MORE ISSUES. JUST THINK OF UK WHERE YOU LIVE- CAN A RALLY OR ANY FUNCTION BE HELD WITHOUT PROPER MOBILE TOILETS? IT’S HIGH TIME LEISURE PARKS WERE RE-ESTABLISHED/RE-CONSTRUCTED IN ZAMBIA.

  43. Mwansa is a dunderhead drunk with PF power. Mwansa you fool, do you think you would be able to churn out that nonsense if you didnt have freedom of expression fought for in 1991? Some people just manage to irritate you.

  44. No, no, no, no, I disagree with people saying that rallies are held in compounds because that is where the poor people are. No, it is because that is where you find illiterates that would dance to your tune. You cannot come to where I live in Emmasdale and start puking to me that you will improve my life after voting for you and you expect me to believe you? I would only vote because I want a certain candidate.

  45. Chi Mwansa, have you asked yourself if and where Sata used to hold his rallies whilst in opposition? Your Sata had a rally on Mwanawasa’s inauguration day! If you have nothing sensible to say, please shut your dirty stinking mouth.

  46. Mr Mwansa, reading your article, you sound like a Shushushu trying to justify the Public Order Act. I believe your brothers and sisters have always done their business in wrong places during rallies, but why the strong concern now, and why the particular emphasis on HH. Seems the man is gaining ground and threatening to you and your kind now. If that is the reason behind your rambling, I agree with you, the man is gaining ground. I was MMD but am now convinced HH is the man for Zambia. As for the bad behaviour of your people, that is exactly why HH is trying to work with you to teach you civilized ways of doing things. Here in Kabulonga we like HH and don’t urinate on people’s properties. Have a good day Mr. Mwansa & Happy 2013 to you and family.

  47. Bembas, you will soon start sweating from your bottoms from the money you are looting from the coffers. This money has blinded you to the extent that you want even to start preaching in the year christ will come. Shame on this tribe, too myopic.’mwaniya wakolwe imwe mwapusa too much’ You think own us

  48. Democracy is about people being free in all spheres of life. Politicians should be free to hold rallies wherever they want. It is up to the residents to decide whether to attend those rallies or not. If you dont want rallies in your area you show it by not attending and not by asking the police to bar people from discussing politics. Please understand what democracy is!

  49. Good point  Mwansa though some uncircumcised bloggers want to go ‘Tribal’ aready. There should be a special place for rallies and I would propose that ‘malabo’ after Chingwere Cemetery for parties like UPND

  50. Ba Mwansa. Na musebana saana. Shallow thinking, or just doing your job as directed by the boss. Anyway you are Mwansa, what else would one expect from you.

  51. Dog Mwansa, i u dont want to attend any rally, remain ln your chi house befiting pigs. Rallies are optional, attend or not. ***** COCAROCH.

  52. Iwe Mwansa ndimwe mukunya nakutundila anyhow and thenaccuse pipo attending rallies. Mwansa behave yourself next time we see your naked banana urinating anyhow. Mwachoka ku Mansa kubwela kunya kuno

  53. Mwansa is a pf paid logger who is very ignorant as expected. rallies are very necessary in the compounds because these are the people that need sensitization more and not people in kabulonga. we now have a government for bemba kaponyas and common thieves for bemba kaponyas and common thieves because of the ignorance of our people in the compounds.

  54. I can’t believe some of the hate coming against Mwansa pantu of his tribe and where he lives. Why are so many in the diaspora so elitist toward their fellow Zambians living in townships? Anyway, I think he should have left the political focus out of it, as this problem is not unique to UPND, although it might seem like it now that they’re the main opposition. I think rallies should be held in the townships, and other places such as Kabulonga (hey, don’t those voters have money to contribute?), and that parties and the state should do what’s needed to maintain safe, clean, peaceful events.

  55. Why such a disdain for poor people? I see it here in America; people with money always want to believe that they did everything themselves and got out of poverty through their own hard work fye. In reality, it’s a combination of luck, connections and often (but not always) hard work; people seem to believe what happens to them is commonplace and not lucky circumstances. This reminds me, the last time I was in Zambia, I tried to stop my friend from throwing rubbish out the bus window onto a green lawn, and then realized what a hypocrite I was, as I had thrown rubbish onto the side of the road in a “less nice” area earlier.

  56. Surely Mr Mwansa does not deserve all this abuse not even from brainless cadres of a  certain zambian political party. In the same breath you talking about freedoms and abusing an innocent person for excercising his freedom of expression. Am sure our leaders read these social network and will take Mr Mwansa concerns seriously.

  57. MWANSA, DON’T BE DISCOURAGED BY A HANDFUL OF FOOLS WHO CAN’T UNDERSTAND YOUR SIMPLE AND STRAIGHT FORWARD POINTS OF ARGUMENT. YOU POINTED OUT A FEW IMPORTANT ISSUES OF PUBLIC HEALTH, SECURITY, POLLUTION, SANITATION CONCERNS. PLEASE, GIVE US MORE OF YOUR ARTICLES WHENEVER YOU HAVE ANY CONCERNS. THIS ARTICLE WAS SPOT ON.

  58. The insults here are despicable. Whether or not you agree with the reader, there are more adult ways of expression your opinion sans the name calling. We ought to be able to speak our minds without resorting to insults, tribalism and any other commentary that otherwise detracts from meaningful conversation. Is it any wonder then that we have politicians whose politics are filed with vitriol, such as what we are reading here. It’s a problem whose roots are deep in this country but we can change that and refrain from petty insults or is that too idealist to even fathom? Sharp criticism is always harsh, but it needn’t be…

  59. What exactly has changed since PF formed government for opposition parties in Zambia to be denied the right to hold rallies anywhere on Zambian soil when Sata himself was not denied that freedom? The answer is glaringly clear even to a two year old. The lies and deceit the PF used to gain power have come back to haunt them and they think can hide the truth by banning the opposition.Fat chance!

  60. This is a future looking idea. Brilliant observation and advice.
I have experienced a total of more than 10 years of election years,  not once have political parties rallied our residential areas.

However,  seeing we love crowding,  we should restrict such mass rallying to election year official campaign periods.

    Well said.

  61. Mwansa u have exposed yo foolishness. Rallies are held at open grounds not that they target compounds. example in KITWE rallies where held at the former freedom park in parklands. kanyama becoz of the twashuka school grounds and mutendere becoz of the Ghandi school grounds. In kafue rallies are held right in the heart of kafue estates a modern suburb built by the former dictator kk. secondly, no one is forced to attend rallies. The only thing is that pipo like kabimba and yoself suffer from diahoera at the mention of HH. CHELLA got a job from the dictator sata by writing articles when he was at the post for the dictator sata but yos is pathetic. LT pliz do not publish articles that waste our time, lest tthe rumour that u are a subsidiary of znbc be deemed true.

    • Look at who is spitting nonsense. Has kabulonga no school grounds to hold rallies? Schools grounds are many and far wider than those in compounds, why always choosing compounds?

Can you even accuse LT of being bought by PF while you leave the useless Zambia Watch Mbwa? I think you are just dreaming man.

  62. A valid and just article from a helpless concerned resident; these opposition chaps have failed to do their job in parliament. Madam IG take these very very concerns raised by this powerless resident to heart when these chaps next file an application. Who wants to see vile irate UPND and MMD chaps pissing against their wall fences and in their gardens.

    • I am sure that there were a lot of PF cadres pissing around the neighborhoods when Sata was campaigning and holding rallies when he was still in the opposition. It must have been the PF cadres.

  63. Mwansa, your name says alot . What do you do for your life? Whats your highest academic qualification? And which part of Mtendere do you stay? Answer these then we can categorise you………

  64. i think mwansa u are not normal.which place is more populated btween kabulonga and kanyama?being a bemba i think u are grade seven failure

  65. People like mwansa are the reason zambia is poor and tolerates failed leaders with nothing to offer but lies. But ears like mwansa itch for these lies as long  as they come from the right mouth, shame

  66. The last word: truth hurts!! Does it mean that Kaponya’s only become important when they need to put the educated in power? Democracy – a game of numbers. Aah well, lets see how education can sort this suggestion from Mwansa. Despite the insults, there are hard facts in the article. We have always told you guys that allienating the poor has been a time bomb for Zambia; they have nothing to loose. Once the divide is evident article like this surface. Who was responsible for taring their roads? Or their water services? their sanitation? Ati Phiri akuma yardi!! Tapalati!!

  67. Let the educated hold their rallies in their Kabulonga, Rhodespark etc. Why should you go to the uneducated, igo igos, Kaponyas who don,t have water to birth has you always Insult them? After all you have said you fight for your survival and not for these Kaponyas.

Have you seen now, we told you to respect the Kaponyas but coz of your insipid pomposity you ignored the advice. To day Kaponyas are saying fight for yourselves you educated and rich people in Kabulonga. Hold the rallies with your fellow educated people and not with the Kaponyas period.

Peace and Prosperity to Mother Zambia.

  68. #86 Gershom
You’re a complete joke, you are doubting Mr Mwansa’s level of education meanwhile you can’t even use proper English. E.g you ask  “which part of Mtendere do you stay?”  Don’t tell me your University lecturer never  told you ‘stay’ and ‘live’ don’t mean the same.

  69. Mafukeni, thank you for sharing the video, it really proves that the peace we claim in Zambia is actually passivity and that the people we put in power are not really concerned about the welfare of the people. Kudos!!

  70. This guy and his kind are typical conformist sheeple who wouldn’t recognise a dictatorship even if it was shoved right under his nose. He’s the reason Zambians are considered by outsiders as docile imbeciles who couldn’t move a hair if their land, resources and all were stolen in broad daylight.

  71. Ke,ke,ke,ke,ke,Zambian educated pipo!U must b a shamed even 2 boast that u are educated. What have u done that u can show 4 the betterment of our country? Mwansa is right just b objective u’ll c sense in wat he saying. No more rallies in townships !

  72. Actually it is in the compounds u have de most innovetive and creative 1s not u in kabulonga dat has depended mostly on tax payer and corruption .But2 add 2Mwansa, even the gvt should know we shall form ou country where 0 the amenities will b.

  73. IT IS IN HUMAN EVEN 2 MOCK PIPO FROM TOWNSHIP BY ANYONE INCLUDING PF AND THE OPPOSITION. U CAN’T KEEP PIPO IN SUCH CONDITIONS. YET ANY POLITICIAN WANTS TO GO AND MAKE NOISE THERE. SUCCESIVE GOVTS VE FAILED EVEN TO JUST TIRE THOSE ROADS THERE.

  74. IT IS NOT FAIR ,IT IS INJUSTICE OF THE WORST KIND. MMD DON’T EVEN SAY ANYTHING U PLASTICS. UPND U ARE JUST RANTING .PF ENSURE THAT U CHANGE THE FACE OF THESE TOWNSHIPS. IT IS SICKENING TO C HUMANS LIVE IN SUCH ENVEIROMENTS WHILE JUST NEXT 2 U .
