A Clergyman in Kitwe has challenged First lady Dr Christine Kaseba and Women advocate groups in the country to rise up and condemn the act of extreme indecent exposure by a named artist’s fan who appeared in yesterday’s Post Newspaper edition.

Pastor Steward Mumbushi of Bethel Healing Room Church in Kitwe has appealed to the First lady, Women Rights Advocate groups and the Police to ensure that the woman is arrested for indecent act.
Speaking in an interview with ZANIS in Kitwe today, Pastor Mumbushi said it was shameful that such things should be happening in a country declared as a Christian Nation.

The clergyman also appealed on government to ensure that it puts a guideline on moral standards that should be acceptable in the nation.

He further challenged President Michael Sata to put into practice his declaration that his government will govern the country on the basis of the Ten Commandments by ensuring that things that defy Christian on bible principles are not condoned.

He added that it was such acts of immoral conducts which are contributing to the skyrocketing levels of sexual abuse against women and girls and if such behavior is not stopped, the country will never win the battle against sexual violence against women and girls.

Pastor Mumbushi further observed that the picture was an embarrassment to the mothers and all women in the country.

Yesterday the Post Newspaper carried a picture of a dancing woman with her private parts literally exposed.

    • hh CALLED FOR morality. The first lady is a victim of immorality where some unmarried women like the ps for special duties offered extra  services. There is nothing immoral in that unless you are insane

    • hmmm, imwe wasshe dancing like that so that the whole world sees or she was enjoying herself? what about you pastor if you take pictures of your wife in bed naked and they are somehow leaked as you had downloaded them to your computer and your computer was hacked. what should we do in that case? the fact of the matter is,your wife pastor would be showing her nakedness in public with or without her consent. So tell us,what would you do,before we pass judgement on this one. poor zambians and your christian nation nonsense. no wonder, you cant develop, always hoping and praying to God for a miracle when the greatest miracle he has already performed by giving you a HUMAN brain and not a monkey brain. Grow up,this christian nation thing is now a curse and i know what you will say abt me ati ni !!!

    • very foolish request. Denying someone sex is not an insult. Exposing nakedness corrupts morals. It is just that the women groupings are run by morally corrupt individuals who are bent on political corruption that now they chose to be quiet when we can all see how they look

  1. Why not ask her to condemn The Post Newspaper for publishing such indecent acts for the public to see. The post must be charged for distributing ponography in their news paper. That woman didnt take a picture of herself, a Cameran working for the post did, and Mmembe ditributed that to the public.
This Clergy is failing to condemn the right people because he wants to suck up to state house, knowing very well State House and Mmembe are friends.

    • very true my brother. this christian nation thing pa zed is turing out to be a curse. people have stopped thinking saying lesa umwine ewishibe. nonsense,i wish that declaration be removed. its backward and stupid. God has given you a brain to think rationally and not say things just to win favors or instill fear into someone that soe grandfather in the clouds is angry. stupidity at its best.

  2. I equally totally agree that this issue should be tackled with the amount of attention it deserves. Its time with also rebase our morals and uphold our true values of descence. Nudity should not be intetained irrespective of is pepetrating it because captions as the one in the post news paper of yesterday should not be condoned at all. It is degrading to our mothers and repulsive. Media censorship should also be re-introduced so as to secure high level of morals. I challenge Mr. Sakeni to act on this issue because failure for him to do so will prove his indorsement on the publication of nudity.

    • I agree with you to a point -but I draw the line on ‘media censorship. There are standards of journalism that are law as well as journalistic integrity which is the duty of the media entities themselves. They ought to self censor as well as actually do some actual editorial work (so many gramatical errors in this very article) and have an emphasis on relevance. This all goes back to education, work ethic as well as accountability on the part of the country as a whole.

    • and yet the same women who marched againt HH will not march against the POST for publishing such pictures in a national paper. thats why ine ifya ma women ati we are marching as pf women againt so and so because it is disrespectful ine nda ndabwa. i hope they will march against this to the psot also for distributing such things, cause thats their role and crime(post), distributing. where is nawakwi, where is inonge wina. one sided politics. you disgust me

  3. Its the coarsening of morals, the society becoming unglued from its traditional culture and the ever increasing foreign decadence. No turning back unfortunately but we can slow down at least.

    • Ba Maureen I how can u call exposing the female genital as freedom pf expression.Sorry mum u have missed the point. Can I come and see your freedom of expression too?

    • @ deus mdala bus from US to Canada is $80 and yo can see the issues you want from ba maureen. or even better if you are in a hurry,ka ndke chabe, about 150-200 dollars ninshi wamona ama freedom of expression yaba maureen. i mean comeone guys, this is the western world, nsambua yaba chiluba lol

  4. The clergy missed out the Kafue women who have sued HH. Then again they were paid to do so and if the clergy can come up with some cash, they maybe able to to sue…And Mumba is arrested for exposing the PF in putting cash aside to destabilise the opposition. just goes to show the current moral standards in our nation.

    • The moral standards of the country has arguably always left much to be desired but is increasingly more evident as people travel more and see different countries, the conflicts of cultural (traditional views) some of which are archaic and redundant (think glass ceiling or repressive acts/ attitudes against women) as well as tolerance and journalistic ethic among other things. I do think they (religion) must take on a role as a defender of the social economy and be the louder voice when it comes to such issues…

  5. i did nt see anything wrong with that picture as it was not different with what we see on tv, dstv and sports events. too many hypocrites is what we have.

    • good, comeone balete abantu to a new level of thinking ans analysing things. i like your approach, but somethig is still missing to make your point totally solid. think man think, kuti nakupela PhD if you just argue your case properly. waiting……………….

  6. I agree there is an issue of moral ethics. On the other hand this is to inform all stake holders including the church that the works of the enemy is at work Please get me right I’m not supporting the publication of the picture but wish to state that all these evils are being exposed its up to our leaders, parents to address them. Imagine if the reporter had not done so we would assure all was well.So let’s us look at the other side of the Horse. Now that we are aware we. An act by educating the masses on such evil act.I would like to hear the comment from Human rights groups

    • What a crack of nonsense! Do you need to see a child burnt to teach it that fire burns? What enemy is at work? This is all lopsided thinking. The moral fibre is disintegrating and you are there attributing it to the “enemy”? The enemy is yourselves. You are too drumk most of the time and your children are growing up without proper guidance. They are the ones in photos and they are the one taking photos. It is from this crop that you will have leaders. In essence, you are fecked! Wise up Zambia!

  7. The truth about the picture in the post is to challenge the declaration of Zambia as a christian nation and when you look at the catoon by chocklet of the same post edition he sums it all.But u can not gauge the declaration on the way some people behave. It is just sad that our women can desgrace themselves in such a manner. The camera man is very innocent in this regard.

    • born again brain washed christian is what i would say about your comment. but i however respect it so respect my analysis of you too.

  8. The first lady is certainly the brains behind the throne but whether the throne has the capacity to reason is another issue. Alot needs improving in Zambia – employment creation; local government administration; roads; electricity; pensions; tax administration; health and education …

  9. The woman, Dalitso, the camera man and the post should all be condemned outrightly. Their conscious should appeal to them no matter the state of mind they are in. NOBODY in their right frame of mind wil tolerate this at all!

  10. Ba clergy men nyele yakupayani? Please, choose another topic to challenge anyone you lazy pricks.
It’s called ENTERTAINMENT. Live life or die trying ba fee car lah imwe.

  11. It is called freedom of expression. It is not like she showed her vijeje. The vijeje was hidden under pieces of clothing so what’s the qualms about ?

  12. Ba Pastor, this is what we keep telling you; just because you declare Zambia a Christian nation doesn’t make it so! You just have to look at the records of the people who made the declaration! _ all thieves: Chiluba, Shikapwasha, Pule, etc!! Give us a break!

  13. Is it the Post to blame or the people who expose their nakedness all in the name of dancing or having a good time? That just goes to show the moral decay in some of this places people call night clubs if a person can dance like that what more happens there which is not captured by cameramen? If a photographer takes a picture of a man urinating in public who is to blame the one urinating in public or the photographer?

    • if a child takes a picture of you having sex with your wife/prostitute and leaks the pictures to the press. who is to blame in this case? a person urintaing in public can be shown using different angles in a paper. one where the whole manhood is showing with urine spouting out,or one where the back side is shown with just a parabola of urine shown spouting out from what would obviously be the mans organs. which of these two pictures is appropriate for a paper my dear friend? according to you,the first one is ok too, where we see the camera man taking a clear photo of scrotum and penis releasing the urine isnt it? kaili its a journalist just capturing whats wrong. i hope you buy such a paper and leave it on the lounge table in ur house when you go to sleep with your children to see!!!!!!!!!!

  14. Having not seen the photo in question I can only comment to the content of this articles claims. If they did indeed print a photo showing her ‘private parts literally exposed’ then it should be condemned. More than that, the paper should be prosecuted as dictated by the laws against such. However this idea that “Zambia is a christian nation” is a moot concept; it’s merely an aspiration that some people feel the country aspires to be but its basis is debatable. There are equal amounts of blame to be placed on the country as a whole as well as the gov. We ought to change attitudes/ values/ cultural perspectives.  Also, their should be universal guidelines for journalism and stiffer penalties.

  15. Blaming the women has been the note of society but remember what Jesus said: He that has no sin should cast the stone. The world we living in is sick to the heard and that’s just an example.

Dear clergyman stop being hypocritical and face the fact that being a Christian national doesn’t make everyone one.

To everyone the signs of the end of the world are in town.

    • I think the clergy is just making a point following the condemnation of HH after the alleged “sex” remarks attributed to him and printed in the Post. Be fair to him….

  16. It would be nice to hear a unified voicing of opinion regarding, sexuality, the numerous homeless people around the country, addressing the weak work ethic in the country, the lackluster governance, gender based violence, education reform etc. But that’s too much to ask for it would seem. Religion and politics DON’T MIX, so the very declaration of Zambia as a Christian Nation by a politician is flawed from the start. Politics, as we can all see, is full of acts the are condemned by religion. This is especially evident in 3rd world nations ( not that it doesn’t happen in the US, GB, JP etc).

  17. Ba pastor may you preach the msg. Remember this is the beginning of the end. Take a break for the perishing things of the world, thats the work Of Jesus Christ.

  18. Useless pastor of Bethel Healing Club next you are the same chap who will be complaining about press freedom when the tables are turned. By the way the  Post newspaper is a very very successful private tabloid and no one puts a gun to your thick dome to force you to purchase a copy every morning.

  19. COME ON.DON T BLAME THE MESSENGER,THE POST HAS EXPOSED THE ROT IN SOCIETY,THATS WHAT THE PRESS DOES,.IT IS NOT THE POST TO BE CONDEMNED,ITS THE MORAL DECAY IN SOCIETY.THE PASTOR SHOULD BE THE ONE IN FOREFRONT TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY,NOT PASS IT TO OTHER PEOPLE,WERE IS THE SALT IN THE CHURCH?

  20. The picture shows a woman ‘fulamaling’ with her knickers showing ( at least thats the one I saw in the paper ) We see so many girls/ladies/women e.t.c. in their underwear everyday, ( out of no provocation ) Moralists only come out with ‘holier than thou’ condemnations when the picture has a ‘suggestive stance’ ( like this one where the woman is ‘bending over’ ) I am not condoning the poses, but I would like to see some consistences. What do we want? What is the threshhold that invites condemnation? Do we want head to toe dressing for the women? No bending over when in short dress? What is indecent exposure? We have a law on this, but does it envisage current ‘decadent’ moral trends that have become almost the norm? Do we need to change the law?

  21.  Copies of this issue were sold out by 10:00hrs in some places as chaps were grabbing two copies each. What does that tell you about Zambian chaps and sex.

  22. The picture was taken in a place where such activities are allow. It is the post who shud b charged under the indecent exposure act. Kanyelele pakwake ko luma(the ant bites when at home). You cannot condemn the devil for promoting sin and tempting people because its his assignment. However, you can condemn the instrument that has made itself available to b used and this case post. When MMD charged Chabwela I condemned them but they have overstepped the boundaries. Mmembe shud b taken for questioning like they are doing Dr Mumba. This indecent exposure is likely to coz breach of peace!

  23. Imwe naimwe, that woman heeded Hakainde’s call. She is an educated, rich, single woman of UP N Down party who had just damped her PF, grade seven Kaponya boyfriend. It is supposed to be sikrit ku bed. SO SHE WAS ADVERTISING to prospecting MMD, ADD, UNIP, ULP boyfriends. Ubupuba pa Zed. I see two wrongs here. For the woman to sebana like that for whatever penny or ngwee rebased is ubupuba! The Post may have wanted to show us what is going on in society, at the same time sell their paper! But others have said bupuba for the Post to have published, lol. Pa Zed!

  24. Condeming the woman will not help matters. The woman was in the night club and those are the things you find in night clubs, hence the reason why they put age restrictions so that those who are below 18 yrs should not be found there. I condem the post newspaper for putting those things in their newspapers. These papers are accessed by kids and other people who may not appreciate such things and bringing things that happen in restricted places is in bad taste. The post should be charged for distributing pornographic materials to the public and not the woman.

  25. Monotheism (aka declaration of one religious sect for a nation) has always been aggressive, intolerant and backward. The pastor’s name itself does imply uselessness. These things are happening EVERY SINGLE DAY and yet you do not get up to condemn them until some tabloid that you WILLINGLY purchase with OFFERING shows a glimpse – in fact what you are staring at is a shadow of what you think should be there… that lady was DRESSED for Pete’s sakes!!

  26. Where are the police? the Post is publishing pictures likely to cause breach of peace.Lets see how selective Law is in Zambia.Kaseba can’t touch Mmembe we all know that.

  27. I agree with the Pastor. Dr Kaseba should be at the forefront to condemn the Post for publishing those photos. She should do it on moral grounds, not political. The PF Kafue women should sue the Post for abusing women by publishing those photos. Nawakwi should not hide herself on this one if really she cares about women dignity. This is worse than HH’s alleged statements. Infact, even MMD and UPND women plus NGOs such as Women for Change should condemn these photos, I repeat, on moral grounds. As a male counterpart, I, Michael Chilufya Mumembe, do hereby, condemn in the strongest terms the publication of pornographic photos by the Post Newspaper under the name of freedom of expression which are meant to demean the dignity and respect for women in society.

  28. Soon the Post photographers will start peeping through our windows when we are making love with our husbands. Mark my words

  29. LT, where are my comments? What do PF Kafue women who demonstrated with police permit have to say on these photos? And where is FDD President Edith Nawakwi and Inongue Wina? If these women keep silent to this, I’ll take it that they are happy and comfortable with the photos.

  30. I cannot blame the Post Newspaper, I can only blame women and girls who are fond of copying wrong things! What is the difference between nakedness and those long socks (amapullers) that are worn by girls and some elderly women and what was shown in the Post Newspaper? what you call modelling also, where a girl or lady is almost naked showing the public what should be seen by the husband only, if at all one may come her way, is that not also nakedness? That is really shameful to women and girls who are failing to copy decent things befitting an African! State House cannot handle such things in the end people will be condemning the President to be a dictator. That is the funny part of a human being!

  31. Dictator Sata rewards such indecent moral exposures to Membe and The Post newspaper and all its workers. PF govt is supported and friendly with the Post not on moral grounds but its falsehood and ‘Donchi Kubeba’ mantra. Remember Chansa Kabwela the woman who published a woman at UTH while giving birth? Kabwela worked for the Post and was rewarded by Dictator Sata with a job as First secretary of Zambian embassy in Malawi. Indeceny exposure with the post under Dictator Sata pays off well. Morals is donchi kubeba.

  32. Pls, can somebody differetiate that picture to what Chansa Kabwela was accused of. That picture is worse than a woman giving birth and in pain. Tho atleast the major essential items were tactifully concealed. That pant must have been black. If only it was not there, nature could have been tickled.

  33. Ba ngwele, the Chansa Kabwela pictures were never published in the paper, but were sent to govt officials like minister of health et al, for a good reason; the state of our institutions which is govt responsibility. For The pics under discussion who should address it? This is the moral state of our society in the name of entertainment. Undressing in a dance trance. Strip tease clubs developing probably? The legs not nice if you ask me. The clergy have this on their table!

  34. The Post Newspaper and Fred Mmembe have always carried themselves like they are above the law. I doubt if the Police will do anything to The Post who are the mouthpiece of the PF party. The offending picture was clearly an ‘obscene picture’ within the meaning of section 177 of the Penal Code. I accordingly crave the indulgence of the Inspector General of Police to prevail on her officers to investigate this matter with the view of preferring criminal charges against The Post Newspaper.

  35. I saw the foto on tumfweko, i say she was in the right place at the right time nothing sinister about that, only people with dirty minds think it’s a crime for a woman to express herself sexually, if you find it offending bring the fotographer to book since he brought it to the wrong medium! Otherwise, some of us can even beat that! so what are you gonna say?

  36. Atleast the pic has unvailed what goes on in the places we are allowing our children to go and “enjoy” themselves. I had unfogotable expirience, I was coming back from Lsk, I reached Ndola early AM (02 -03hrs) I dicided to brave the rains by entering the DISCO house, my experience was challenging, what I saw hell in the house, but the experience helped me to realise how degraded the morals of not only our youth but also the elderly. zambia has got sins that need eviction, and it will only happen when the media start expossing them. Bravoto the brave camera man who took that pic. To the Pastor, what you saw happens every day pray harder, fast more don’t just ask people to give, give, give, those ladies need your spiiritual help, otherwise you will continue conderming.

  37. 2 Timothy 3:1-5 But mark this; there will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than than lover of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power.
IN THE STATES THERE IS NOW A CHURCH FOR NUDE PEOPLE. IN PARIS A MOSQUE WILL BE OPENED SOON FOR GAY PEOPLE. We can argue, insult one another, or laugh, the truth ism THE WORLD IS LOOSING ITS DIRECTION AND IT IS NOT ANYTHING TO BE SURPRISED ABOUT. ITS ALL IN THE BIBLE. IF YOU ARE A CHRISTIAN LIVE YOUR LIFE FOR CHRIST. TODAY NAKEDNESS IS CALLED FASHION.

  38. Not sure what the big issue is here, catching a glimpse of some bad looking nickers becomes national debate? obviously these chaps are yet to visit a beach where women busk in the sun scantily dressed.

Clergy men and the rest of you who are making it a big issue, are you not supposed to be debating the arrest of innocent Zambians visiting markets and chaps who are building retirement homes in the first year of their four term while pensioners are not paid their dues, the billions of kwacha being assigned to non existent first lady offices when our hospitals are transit homes to the mortuary because of unnecessary deaths brought about by the uncaring govt. Wake up and smell the coffee.

  39. MEMBE IS DOING A GREAT JOB BY SHOWING US HOW OUR SOCIETY`S MORAL HAS DECAYED ESPECIALLY A COMMON MAN LIKE ME WHO HAS NEVER STEPPED IN A NIGHT CLUB,ITS NOT GOOD TO BE CHEATED BUT TO SEE WHATS HAPPENING ,NOT ABROAD COS PEOPLE THINK ITS IN EUROPE WERE PEOPLE ARE WALKING NAKED.WE WILL SEE YOU WHO LIKE SAYING WOMEN ARE FREE TO WEAR WHAT THEY WANT…..NOMBA FILYA FINE ALETULANGA AKAFULUKUTU IN THE NAME OF HUMAN RIGHTS AND GENDER EQUALITY…AWE MWANDI BALETUSHIKULA NAMATANTA FILYA FINE AYAKOTE

  40. Wo-wo-wo! Fellow country men and women, with due respect to your comments on the Post exhibited nudity or indecency, as it were, I suppose the clergyman’s whistle blowing holds water to a certain extent. The topic under discussion is a sensitive one and therefore deserves the due respect it can be accorded. It is not just mere christianization of the whole reactions, but let us face the facts regarding our Zambian moral code of conduct, ethics, culture, women rights and generally respect. Would one man be pleased to often see the nudity of his sister on media? I beg to differ with those who welcome such decadent publicity! Any sane person would draw some disappoint from the current so called “artistes pages” that only corrupt our society and the minds of the younger generation.

  41. I agree with mwinelubemba1, the Post is simply showing us what people go to “enjoy” in some of these public places. Mwe bantu, the post is simply a messenger, It can only be charged if Membe and his photo journalists invade our bedrooms and publish what we do in secret.

  42. Talk about those teenage/boys murderers that killed and peeled off a face of a taxi driver for money for xmas. The obscene dancer did not kill anybody and the men who were enjoying actually paid for the fun.

  43. this pastor is useless, he thinks we are still in the fake christian nation of chiluba where a pastor would condenm something next morning chiluba puts a stop to it while he continues nubiles at state house. Problem with zambian pastors they are not morally strong, any sign of nudity there is a problem in their trousers. Bwana pastor this 21st cent. Dont talk about moral, just look at the country(usa) where u borrowed yo fake faith, see what goes on there.

  44. Before we cocondemn the Post, let’s first condemn films and adverts by Multichoice. Wherein lies the difference? U sit in TV rooms wi th your underage children with eyes wide open, aren’t u exposing them to immorality?
