PF secretary general Wynter Kabimba has said that he has not yet received the report from the Edgar Lungu-led disciplinary committee. Mr Kabimba was speaking yesterday when he was contacted for comment on Foreign Affairs Minister Given Lubinda’s case.

Mr Kabimba said that he was expecting to have received the report on Tuesday, but that he did not do so for reasons he did not know.

“I don’t have the report. I am also waiting for the report which I was told I was going to receive yesterday ,” he said.

When contacted, Home Affairs Minister Mr Edgar Lungu who led the disciplinary committee said that the report was complete and it would be handed over to the PF Central Committee this week.

“The report is complete. We, as the disciplinary committee, are just cross-checking it,” he said.

Mr Lungu said that he could not comment on the resolutions of the disciplinary committee meetings, reiterating that the Central Committee was the rightful body to do so besides deciding the next course of action once it received the report.

The PF disciplinary committee sat for three days to hear eight disciplinary cases, among them that of Mr Lubinda’s alleged leaking of vital party information to online publications and working in collaboration with opposition MMD and UPND.

Meanwhile, Lusaka district Patriotic Front (PF) district Chairperson Goodson Banda has said the district wants Foreign Affairs minister Given Lubinda to step down on moral grounds.

Mr Banda said Mr Lubinda should step down because of his treachery, disloyalty and ability to destabilise the party by leaking information to the opposition.

“Lubinda’s action of leaking information to the opposition is treacherous and if left unchecked would greatly destabilise the party if left unchecked,” he said.

He alleged that the transparent disciplinary committee found Mr Lubinda guilty which prompted the committee to demand for his resignation.

Mr Banda said Mr Lubinda’s action was unacceptable and warranted dismissal because he was jeopardising the PFs developmental efforts.

He said the entire district demanded for the resignation of the minister because it was proved beyond reasonable doubt that he was guilty of destabilising the party.

Mr Banda said if Mr Lubinda did not step down they would continue pressuring the party’s Central Committee until necessary action was taken against him.

He called on all party members to be loyal to the party and government regardless of their status and that no one would be spared if found wanting.

He warned all the members that were siding with the embattled minster saying they would be dealt with.

He said the party was aware that Mr Lubinda had already started campaigning with the help of his UPND sympathisers and other disloyal members.

“We are aware that Mr Lubinda has started campaigning for the Kabwata seat with the help of UPND sympathisers, but I want to tell him that we are going to meet him head on,” he said.

He said the party at district level would not condone Mr Lubinda’s arrogance and would labour until he was dealt with accordingly.

  1. Weluu! Mwailasha kwa zecco, we people are behind lubinda and we are the voters.expel him now what are you waiting for?

  2. This cadre is too pompous. The facial expression tells it all. And he thinks he will be the only sacred soul after removing the hardworking guys from pf. We will do you a dont kubeba…

  3. The SG has not yet received the report up to now, and yet the vedict is so loud and clear already – if that is not information leakage, then what is? I think Lubinda’s ‘leakages’ are nothing compared to this ‘flow’. But even assuming what we hear is true, what would have led Lubinda to behave like that, against the PF? I think he may have found that he was a real misfit in the Party based on ilogical foundations. Just come to think of it: you have been given a parliamentary seat based on the lies of the Party President, given a lofty position of touring the world, then you still find yourself unhappy in the Party!

  4. Given Lubinda is innocent – this whole thing was an INCITE from kabimba. he tried the same with GBM and if let loose, he is yet to do the same to others. Should Given Lubinda be expelled, we the people are behind him – we will vote him back. Mind you, it’s not these cadres that are going to vote alone.

  5. Waya waponta Iwe ati “Uzapeza ali better,” Kanshi uyowine ewo washya euli better. Wazi gonga chabe. Lubinda is the best brain in PF and you want to expel.

  6. I like Lubinda`s silence over the matter. He is making them look foolish. This Kabimba chap is too excited. He should wait for his time when tables turn.

  7. which report does he want when he was in the same meeting and knows the fate already, isn’t he the one haunting his friends out of the party?

  8. Days are numbered. I am sure Kabimba thinks Lubinda was a threat to him but who would vote for Kabimba even if there were no people to vote for?

  9. The SG has not gotten the report yet?? But how come everyone in the public domain who is well informed knows the verdict!!! This kabimba thinks he is untouchable. Days are numbered next it will be you

  10. Even a fool can not vote for Kabimba sure!!! Go Lubinda Go!! we will vote for u, its not PF here but the person who delivers!!

  11. What information is given Lubinda leaking…. Winter is an *** and he should just shut he mouth for the goodness of PF

  12. Never make such a mistake to expel Lubinda ba SG, your office is just too excited for nothing, will vote him back

  13. Kabimba may not have received the report as yet but he’s already privy to the contents. Why prolong a foregone case in which he’s the final say?

  14. THE SO CALLED CONST.& DISTRICT CHAIRPERSON ARE SO IGNORANT ,THEY DONT KNOW WHAT THEY DOING?HON LUBINDA FORGIVE THEM & CONTINUE WITH YO HARD WORK U ARE LOVED BY MANY.CAN SOMEONE ANSWER ME THIS SIMPLE QUESTION.WHO IS TRUSTWORTHY BETWEEN GEOFREY CHUUMBWE,SILVIA MASEBO & GIVEN LUBINDA ? NOT 2 LONG AGO WHEN CHUUMBWE WAS MMD WAS INSULTING SATA SAYING NEVER BE A PRESIDENT OF THIS COUNTRY. Y DO U 4GET 2 FAST LIKE THIS U CHAIRMEN

  15. Mr. Kabimba if u’r intelligent let the pipo notice yo intelligence. Lubinda is very quiet thats y most of the pipo ar supporting him, when ur talking Mr Kabimba don’t shout campeigns are over, I thot Lawyers follow ethics. As for Mr. Lubinda if its true u were leaking infor sorry u don’t av our support. But expelling him is not a solution cause its us the pipo wu’l fund the KR10,000,000 worth of by-election, just remove him from his ministerial position let him see out his 5yr term as a PF rebel MP.

    • Kabwata is not a rural area where u threaten pipo with lack of development if they don’t vote 4 u, Lubinda is Mr Kabwata and the only PF supporters he has frustrated are constituency executives not us ordinary members, we will campaign for him clad in PF chitenge’s if he re-contest as an independent, should u expel Za yellow.

  16. Zwangendaba kaZiguda Jere Gumbi was born circa 1785 and died c. 1848 in Mapupo, near Ufipa, Tanganyika [now in Tanzania]). He reigned over his Jere people from 1815–48
He was the younger brother of Somkhanda kaZiguda Jere who remained with the Gumbi clan in Kwazulu Natal in areas of Pongola and the current Chief is Mbhekiseni Zeblon Gumbi. Zwangendaba led his people, then called the “Jere”, on a migration of more than 1000 miles through present day Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Zambia Malawi to Mapupo in the western part of Tanzania where he set up a base. This is the place where he finally died in 1848. He was buried in Mapupo in an ox hide at Chapota, near the Nyinaluzi River.
Now, despite his advanced age at death, Zwangendaba lacked elligible grown up sons to succeed him as both Mbelwa dn…

    • Kekekekekekeke! This guy has guy has made my day with a good laugh. Straight from reading some history book he decides to test his memory on a discussion of a totally different subject. Soooo incomprehensible and funny.

    • thanks Dinizulu for reminding us of History. As a people we forget easily. Iam afraid very soon we will forget where our dead presidents are buried.

    • Kindly write a book this is very interesting! Who are you where did you get this information? What about the Ndhlamini family Zwangendaba was hanging around with?

  17. & Mpezeni were still too young. His Kingdom was thus ruled by two successive regents of Nthabeni and Mgayi. Within 5 years of Zwangendaba’s demise, his Kingdom broke into five brances all of which moved to new territories. The first group headed northwards to the East coast of Tanganyika to Unyamwezi with the rest initially remaining together till the demise of the second regent, Mgayi. Then Zulu Gama & his crew cut lose heading eastwards to Songea with Chiwere Ndhlovu leaving for the hills South of Lake Malawi soon after. Meanwhile, the dispute between Mbelwa & Mpezeni was settled after Mpezeni took his people South into Bembaland, finally settling in Chipata among the Nsenga in 1871.

  18. Therefore, it is a settled fact that Zwangendaba himself died & was buried in Chapota in Mapupo near the Nyinaluzi River in present day Tanzania. The grave in Nakonde could only be of either Mpherembe, another of Mpezeni & Mbelwa’s brothers defeated by the Bembas in 1870 or indeed that of Mtwalo, though most unlikely, because he remained under Mbelwa in Mapupo. One lesson though to learn from all this is that the Lozis know the graves of their Kings and Queens, starting with Mwambwa buried at Sangaulu in Lukulu district. She lived 200 years before Zwangendaba.

    • You are either drunk or high on ganja like munonko Mupezeni. Umfwa iwe, uwa ponweke and lies dead in Nakonde ni Zwangendaba, te Mpelembe iyo. Elyo we will not allow Mupezeni, Zwelitini, or iwe wine diniZulu to transfer the remains of Zwangendaba from muchinga to Chipata, no! His remains are our property, understand?

  19. The current Chief Mpezeni must have invited Zulu King Goodwill Zwelithini to the N’cwala ceremony out of ignorance of history. Shaka Zulu, whose crown Zwelithini wears today would disembowel that coward Zwangendaba if they both rose from the dead and met today. Even at a time Dingane’s impis were decimating the Scottish regiment at the battle of Isandlwana on “The Day of The Dead Moon,” Zwangendaba was still legging hard further up north crossing the Zambezi at Feira. The Chief he should have invited is Chief is Mbhekiseni Zeblon Gumbi who is a direct descendant of Zwangendaba’s elder brother Somkhanda kaZiguda Jere who remained with the Gumbi clan in Pondola in Kwazulu Natal.

  20. Kabimba and his cronies have got this one wrong!! Lubinda has demonsrated, even in this very trying time that he is a level headed leader who will not sink so low as to organise cadres to counteract Kabimba’s cronies, let alone issue any statements on the issue.

All he did was respond to the charges and submit his letter and kept quiet. We do not know exactly what Lubinda siad in his letter of expulsion because he has refused to leak it to the press, while the letter which Kabimba wrote giving him seven days ultimatum, when he knew he was out of the country on duty, representing the President, was in the public domain, even before Lubinda received it himself.

If the PF Central Committee sanction this misguided scheme and endorses the use of disgruntled cadres, that will mark their…

  21. PF DISCIPLINE LUBINDA AS YOUR OWN CHILD. We love him too much more than those who think they are above him. Sata save lubinda we beg u. He didnt ditch pf mu opposition why when in power

  22. What is happening in the PD political party is exactly what used to happen at mansansa when we were young. we fought each other after the game was over. A local business man pledged Millions of kwacha to who ever won the game that was football in the late 70’s and early 80’s and after wining the game to share the monies was another issue. its either the team disbanded or a few individuals got a larger chunk or and the money was shared equally. the last thought was rare but the most obvious one was that the giant got a larger chunk or the fight broke out. similarly, the embattled PF is now being pulled in all direction by small and bigger giants in order to get their shares after campaigning for it in 2011. Sad indeed, the smaller bidders are watching helplessly how the giants are…

  23. Please Ba Sata don’t destroy our party just because Winter and Masebo want Lubinda to be expelled.Just advice Lubinda and GBM.Otherwise Ba sata U’ll destroy PF before 2016.Cadres are sponsored by Kabimba. Why Why why do U want 2 destroy PF kanshi? We know that PF has failed 2 deliver in kamwala South but give Lubinda a chance.Sometimes unity is important in the party especially in towns.I stay in kamwala South and i know Lubinda has dissaponted us but for the sake of unity please give him a chance.Otherwise I’ll vote for him and that will send a wrong signals to rural areas that PF has started loosing popularity in Lusaka.I love PF and don’t agree with those candres such Chuumbwe and Winter. Please also leave GBM,Kambwili alone. We love them.Guy scolt help Ba Tata ba Sata.Otherwise…

  24. Highly placed sources within the central committee of the PF, told the Daily Nation that President Michael Sata was uncomfortable with senior members of the party who worked extensively to ensure that the party won the 2011 elections, because they were challenging him on a number of very important national issues including the manner he was handling corruption charges involving the K14 billion Development Bank of Zambia (DBZ) scandal, the illegal hand over of Finance Bank to Rajani Mahtani, miscalculated nolle prosequi offered by Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Mutembo Nchito, to Mahtani and spate of deportations of business competitors to Dr. Mahtani.

The Finance Minister had indicated his wish to quit government due to alleged intolerance in the system.

    “GBM thinks that the…

  25. Winter should find out where all the overzealous politicians like tetamashimba, Geoge kunda etc go to and yes even the living like Shikapwasha, Mike mulongoti, Dora siliya etc how they end up.

  26. Bob Marley sung, “Time alone, ohh time will tell. Jah will never give power to the bald heads like Kamimbya”

Given is indeed a great man. The loudest great men speak is by keeping quiet.

  27. A friendly advise PF, some things u need to be careful how u handle them. U can get away by victimising people like GBM not Lubinda. This guy stood firm when in opposition to defend the voiceless. Im shocked that the post newspaper have abandoned him when they covered him extensiviley when he was fighting corruption with Sata. Dont forget easily where u are coming from. Now u are in power u forget why MMD was removed. Open your eyes because Lubinda will win the seat if u chase him. He will continue being a thorn in your fresh until u fall down. Even Nevers Mumba u are making him popular by arresting him daily. Calm down with new power.

  28. Lubinda’s appeal is not in Kabwata alone but country wide due to the stamina he showed when fighting corruption. Just be cautious how u handle him.

  29. The other day the President was wondering. Today, I too have been wondering how Kabimba is able to sleep at night knowing how loathed and unpopular he is with the not only the people from his home area but all of Zambia. He must be a lonely man, with only the PF cadres to cheer him up with those party songs. What a life!!

  30. Bwalya Musonda you mean ba sibongo ku chilenje in 1983 i remember i was at woodlands (B) I campaigned for Sata when he stood aganist Mr Sibongo now late in lubinda’s constituency. This man he used to sponsor football, i remember abena Stanly kapasa, gelard, boniface kila Chanda, ba zinje, fan angunyu…awe ba Lubinda kuya bebele kashi…. nga mulefya ukuishiba ba sata bwino bwino kabiyeni pa twaluba taven muipushye ba ngononto na ngu pa buntungwa na ngu pa mwapona. awe nasula Lubinda GBM nabaya chapwa

  31. Wish all the blogers surpoting Lubinda were in Kabwata to vote for him – this online views often are just the opposite of what is on the ground in Zambia – hope it’s not the case this time around – Why is Lubinda not denying the accusation of leaking information to zwd and upnd? Someone somewhere is not telling the whole truth

  32. I wonder why many people are supporting Lubinda, he is not commenting because government used phone- tapping to bug his calls and find him guilty. Lubinda wears suits and talks nice but people who know him well know that he is a womanizer and does not truly have a vertebrate.

    • iyeee oweee, hehehehehheheheh, how did you know all these things about him? kwena mulendepula, including teacher wa history above and the responses he got, weekend yanunkila, nanaka nefichito kunokuntu kulanasha mwe! but LT can be so healing didnt realise!

  33. Why does the PF allow cadres to make comments on a case that the Central Committee is handling? How can Banda be saying Lubinda should be expelled when Kabimba does not even have the report? This case is prejudiced and the verdict is already known and yet Kabimba (as a lawyer) knows about the due process of the law and the basic natural law of justice which he has ignored with impunity. There is nothing different with how RB and his croonies were operating…This is all political rhetoric!

  34. Given, my man, just swallow your pride and walk back to UPND. You can survive among hyenas as antelope. Sata is convinced Kabimba delivered his victory and will always be on wynter’s side. Its sad to see the best politician in Zambia by far, being treated like trash just because he’s a threat to other people like kabimba’s ambitions. They can see the old breathes unsteadily and they re-align their party structures. Would zambia vote PF without Sata? I doubt …. so Given go build UPND, your home.

  35. “IF you think education is expensive then try ignorance”. Zambia opted for ignorance in 2011 and the costs are aounting everyday until 2016. All we have to do is watch and sometimes comment but ignorance cannot read. Cry my beloved country Zambia.

  36. The case against the Minister of Foreign Affairs is a serious one, I there fore appeal to the President to suspend any travels out side the Country by the said Minister until his case is exposed off. Let the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs deputize in any foreign relation matters. I had earlier noticed when His Excellency the President visited Botswana with the Foreign Minister on tour of duty, that he was not a royal PF. I personally spoke to the Minister after the meeting as I handed him a copy of the letter I had earlier handed to the President. In his tong I sensed some thing out of ordinary. His remark was really not befitting of a royal PF member.

  37. Monitoring is best done when you have a couple of data to compare. A lot of blood pressure monitors have huge memory banks storing about 80 or more readings. If you’re going to buy a blood pressure monitor that’s so hard to use then might as well stick with sphygmomanometer and stethoscope.
