  1. i think we need God to have mercy on Zambia. too many careless and inexperienced drivers on the road with no respect for humans. too much over speeding on our poor roads. we call ourselves a Christian nation and yet drivers are taking other people’s lives every day when these accidents could be avoided. The road safety department is toothless.

  2. its always sad to lose a life but Zambians are prejudiced when it comes to pedestrians been killed by motorist. In Zambia a pedestrian is always right and the motorist is perceived to be always over speeding. Take for for example a road has a speed limit of 80km and the driver is moving at 75 km and a pedestrian misjudges the speed of the vehicle and in the process gets killed, automatically the eye witness will jump to the conclusion of saying the vehicle was over speeding without considering the road speed limit. Zambian police are ill equiped and lack necesary training to investigate road traffic accidents hence drivers will alway be punished. what was a 4 year old doing crossing the road alone where was the mother who should be charged for negligency..

    • You are right. We have a lot of unsupervised kids crossing busy roads and one wonders what the parents are doing. 4 years alone?

    • sorry dude but here in China its even worse, when you hit someone you are gone, they dont take into consideration the stuation that led to the accident in the first place. this is not right. some time pedestrians could be wrong too but they always shift the blame to the driver. dame……….

  3. pedestrians learn to cross at Zebra crossings, no wonder there always humps before Zebra crossings as to allow motorist to slow down and eventually give pedestrians chance to cross. in an even of an accident pedestrians should also be charged for not crossing at a Zebra crossing. Pedestrians always assume that the driver has seen them, in rural areas its worse young couples want to romance in the roads others sitting in the side walks forgetting that cars have tire bursts and lose control. i think RTSA should embark on educating pedestrians.

  4. #3 & 4, drivers drive very fast in Zambia. in residential areas they drive at 75km or 80 km instead of 50 or 60 km. 80 km should always be on a highway. talk of zebra crossing, how many zebra crossing do we have in Zambia or Lusaka?

    • why blame the driver for a lack of Zebra crossings. the only problem is that every jim and jack think there RTSA experts judging the speed of vehicles just by sight. unplanned settlements how do you build a house centi meters away from a high way? all comes down to the Government’s lack of planning for example dont kubeba market meters away from a rail line, what happens if a train derails or a car plunges from the fly over bridge.

  5. some of these compounds in Zambia awe mwe need to be demolished at that late hour what is a 4years old child doing outside and playing at the street come on this isn’t normal.
