Stopilla Sunzu’s £4million price tag has reportedly forced Sunderland to withdraw any interest in the Zambia defender.
Sunderland coach Martin O’Neill told the Sunderland Echo that they interest in him was purely that he was a free agent.
“What has happened there is that he had gone to Reading believing he was a free agent,” O”Neill said.
“Reading were interested in him and dealt with it properly and they decided to pull out of any move until they felt things were successfully resolved.
“In the meantime, he was still in the country and was looking at places to go and we were a possibility because we could be construed as short of defensive cover despite bringing Kader Mangane in.
“But it looks clear now that the situation has been resolved and he is. in fact. under contract and would command a transfer fee.
Its fine Sunzu, be patient.
No need, he would simply be another failed Zambian after Mbesuma and Mayuka. The later not even making the bench in today’s game. Always off the bench with little less impact when given a chance. Got to be honest though, he so far he has done better than Mbesuma who managed about 15 mins all season….

Sunzu recently signed to a RSA based sports agency called Bigtime Sports Management ran by South African FIFA player agent Ryan Hartslief…why is it that FAZ was very quick to release him for trails at Reading without any argument days before an important AFCON game?
If Sunzu goes as a free agent its the agent and the player that get a big cut and TP get nothing….where are Zambian investigative journalists as this is linked to the top brass of Football House even Ryan’s tweeter page shows a lot of activity to and from RSA to Zambia in November and December 2012.

The problem with European clubs especially clubs like Sunderland would want to get a player of Sunzu calibre for free while the pay large sums of money to players say from Ghana or Nigeria…are we surely inferior to such players honestly NOT. 4 million pounds sounds like bargain to me. He’s actually worth more than that. My advice to Sunzu is: chest bola mudala….many more solid offers will come as long as you have a reliable trusted soccer agent. For now continue to work hard.
Those players from Ghana and Nigeria are already based in Europe….you think European clubs are going to risk silly money on an African player who has never played in Europe. You find out about the likes of Samuel Eto where the first started out in Europe………………
