Out spoken Catholic priest Father Frank Bwalya has announced that he is immediately forming a political party.

Fr Bwalya who recently resigned his position on the ZESCO board as Chairperson in a move he said was meant to reclaim his voice, says President Michael Sata has lost it and that time has come for Zambians to start waiting for the next messiah.

He said President Sata is no longer the same caring person Zambians knew before he became president.

He said he made the decision to form a political party last night as part of the visions that God has been showing him.

Fr Bwalya said he has a vision for a Zambia which will have not street kids among other things.

He added that people challenging him to form a political party are scared because they know that their stay in power is threatened.

QFM News reports that Fr Bwalya said his political legacy in Zambia has dawned, and has promised to introduce a new type of politics.

He has further announced the launch of a yellow card campaign against the PF government for failing to keep mealie meal prices low and its selective prosecution.

And Fr Bwalya says he will not reveal the name of his political party until such a time when it is right to do so.

He said this is to void the hijacking of the name of his yet to be launched political party.

And Youth and Sport Minister Chishimba Kambwili accused Fr Bwalya of being a bitter and confused priest who is running mad.

Mr Kambwili who is also PF national youth Chairperson accused Fr Bwalya when he called in to Radio Phoenix’s ‘Let The People Talk’ were Father Bwalya was featuring of misleading the people of Zambia.

He advised Fr Bwalya to go back to his calling and let go his bitterness.

Mr Kambwili accused Fr Bwalya of having approached him to form a political party when he was removed as Foreign Affairs Minister something he turned down.

He said Father Bwalya has had presidential ambitions for a longtime.

    • Jesus lasted 40 days and 40 nights in the wilderness and father Bwalya lasted ….. in the comfort of his home. This has to be the shortest 40 days in history!

    • Kaili everyone wants to be a president in Zambia no wonder no political alliance has ever stood the test of time in our country because of personal and selfish interests.

    • The Party will be known as FABWA.

Is it going to be a Party or just a Part?

By the way, we are including in the new constitution a clause that will compell all presidential candidates to be married… And then one day Fr Bwalya will wake up and show you a woman that God would have shown him the previous night!!! Politics does’nt get any more mature than this, does it? The only thing that Fr. Bwalya will find easy to do when he becomes President is to appoint a white Vice President coz there are millions of them in the catholic church.

Hey! before I forget, since Fr Bwalya now attends his Sunday mass at St Ignatius parish, where will President Sata be attending his?

    • He thinks Zambia is a kantemba where every jim and jack can wake up and say they want to be president. This is what selfishness does. The Father doesnt have a vision for the country but bitterness and jealousy has driven him to do that. I WILL NEVER WASTE MY VOTE ON CHANCERS!!!

  1. Let him do so quickly, hes capable of taking on the Pathetic Failures, lets go Bwalya lets gooooooooooooo! We need a vibrant and vigilant opposition which Bwalya is capable of … nomba ukuteka kwena kaaaayaaaa??

  2. its impossible to serve God on a political platform Mr Priest. Christianity is impartial and a very high moral and spiritual calling; how then can one lower himself into partisan politics and call it of God. Please stop disgracing the Holy Name of The Almighty God.

    • Ever heard of Archibishop Macarios? If I am not mistaken he was president/ruler of Cyprus in the 1970s. So it is possible to be a man of God and to be in politics indeed to rule.

    • Jesus if he did live, was a politician. Taking on the Roman empire. The preacher has seen something wrong in the regime. A Zambia without ‘street children’ is a very noble goal, URGENT in fact, its a National crisis to have little children, our future, alone on our streets.

    • He just saw that there is too much money in gvt hence the need to become president and get his share. Abena Father or abena Cardinals Catholic has more more than five years in power, so just talk Pope Francis into making you a cardinal faza! Political party kwisa?? Natulenwafye mukwai:-)

    • Zambians are now spoilt for choice. It’s so fashionable these days to form either a church, construction/ mining company or a political party – kapena ndiye development yamene iyi ka?

    • In Zambians we are now spoilt for choice. It’s so fashionable these days to form either a church, construction/ mining company or a political party – kapena ndiye development yamene iyi ka?

  3. A wolf in a sheep’s skin.Anyway we have seen it before.Even Nevers Mumba took the same route. He is not the first nor the last even my pastor Shoprite Ngulube is planing to take the same route in 15 years time.Maybe too much for men of the cloth but hey this is democracy everyone has the right to form a party.

  4. These bemba chaps are so lazy and keep arguing in public for no good reasons….go back to the land you fools

    • Go back to which land?? We must desist from such hatred, its the height of ignorance to believe that anyone in Zambia is separate from the Bemba Kingdom..Anthropology proves that all our tribes are ONE, united by blood, we all came from the same source..KOLA (Angola) and then further migration into LUBA/LUNDA (CONGO DRC) and consequently different groups of the same tribal grouping filtered into various parts of Zambia, Bembas into Northern Zambia, Lozi’s into west, at the time we all spoke same language. Infact Lenje is the oldest tribe in Zambia..the rest are around 600-500 years. So lets stop colonial attitudes of DIVISION NOW!! Our attitude must be one of PROGRESS AND UNITY IN ZAMBIA. HOTEP…PEACE

  5. He will form a party and devise catchy phrases like the PF did to hoodwink the gullible into voting him in power. Once there what’s to stop him from shedding off sheep’s clothing and revert to type, I mean wolf? Sata has just provided fertile soil for a would be wild beast to nafuti rape the docile masses with their 90 day miracles. Sad thing our corrupt society is forever excited to dish out plot 1 to such charlatans. We never learn and when we do we forget easily.

  6. Much as this Father have a good voice for the poor, it is not his voice but some people behind him. Someone insulted me last time, i made an analysis on the reason for this man to resign as ZESCO board chairman. Fr Bwalya is a hired gun by the Catholic church. Fr Bwalya once in power will implement the removal of Christian Nation from the Zambian constitution and worse still, the dawn for legalised homosexuality in Zambia. Wait and see. My theories are slowly being proven bit by bit.

  7. Waste of space this man is proving. Zambia does not need many parties at all what we want is to get a consensus Government that works towards the improving of the Zambian people lives in all spheres. Anyway Zambia is a free country so you can join Ba Miyanda, BY, Nawakwi, Magande – just to mention a few that are singular parties – singular defined as members of their family alone.
Think of it this way, if I have a disagreement with my boss at work then I should resign and then go it alone and form another company! really? does the world work like that? Think not. What are the ideologies of these parties – PF, UPND, MMD and UNIP included. zambia is void of any party philosophy that I’d binding on the members to hold on and believe. The only exception I guess is NAREP and Ba Miyanda’s

  8. its a gud move Fr. Bwalya. the attitude of sayng lets give them chance led MMD to take the Zambians for a ride. we nid this sharp & accurate judjement of the situation in the country. the earlier the beta. let Given Lubinda join also. It wud make a a formidable team

  9. GET MARRIED FIRST AND AND STOP PRETENDING TO BE A FATHER AND DO NOT THE CHURCH FOR POPULARITY CHI BWALYA NAUPENA

  10. Contd from 14: NAREP is on the right path but requires a lot of traction and mobilising a good team of youths that believe in the ideologies that Elias Chipimo Jnr has articulated. For NAREP to succeed it must be seen as a party for all and not only the elite educated middle class. Ideology of the party must be the driving force for mobilisation and not perceived popularity of one person, who without at the helm everyone questions the viability of that party. Think of UPND without HH or PF without Sata – these 2 parties will crumble. MMD is different in that Mumba is seen as a mistake and interim basis only – MMD will survive after him only if the party moves fast and halt its destruction under him. As for PF, they are on a self destruct button without a succession plan in place

    • You said the same of UPND that if Mazoka died, the party would die too. So, your analysis is fake! What is the ideology for NAREP and what are the differences with the other parties? Never again are you going to dupe the Zambian people. We now know you.

  11. It is his right to venture into any activity, though the church is very categorical about such activities. So far he has been on leave from church activities. Immediately he notifies the church about his intentions, that is the day he will leave the pulpit for for good. He will be called Frank Bwalya and not FATHER Frank Bwalya.

    • You should know better than to post your baby’s picture on the Internet. And he’s in a state of undress! (*shaking my finger at you*)

  12. Leave Father Bwalya alone, all Zambians are free to join or form a political party of their choice. He is just a threat to PF.Go Father go………………………..

  13. OH NOOOOOOO! Another mumba? From churchman to politician? This is corrupt and I’m so ashamed of the stupidity of Zambian people.

    • tim or whatever they call you. Please stop insulting the zambian people. What wrong have they done to deserve your insults?

  14. at first it was Priest Nevers mumba now it is Priest Frank Bwalya…let the ball start rolling we see who is the son of the bit.ch between Mumba and Bwalya.

  15. Frank, you are a bad referee, it is only a few days ago when you flashed a white card and already you have shown a yellow. Please be patient and let these guys deliver. Remember bola ni 90 minutes and it is not every offense that attracts a card.

  16. When asked to comment on zwd story about his resignation, Miles Sampa has written this on his facebook wall:

Was in a SA via a written authorization from the big boss and consent from my immedite boss as per standard requirement. Yes: frustrated with those in the system with off-track agenda and bended on delaying implementation of our promises to the people. I will however take them on Inside and not Outside the Ring.

  17. He mistook Board chairmanship for CEO position. And he checked the remunerations were not enough and only after a sitting which are far between.

  18. Excellent – this will split the populist vote and with a bit of luck and cooperation a real opposition party might just win.

  19. Father Bwalya is more effective and more of a threat when he is non partisan and objective….politics is a dirty game and he shouldn’t shy away from getting his hands dirty. I guess in Africa for things to done one has to form a party.

  20. First of all Zambians let us be proactive and educative criticisms. This is our life we are taking so simple. Let us learn air views or debate concerning our country or life in a mature manner. Look at ze comments in the media. Father bwalya has ze right to do anything as long as its not immoral , criminal and harmful to the country and its people. Just to air his views or plans does not call for insults. Look at GBM, Kabimba and Kambwili they used to speak as if they were for the pipo but not they are there for themselves. All of the above have plans to become presidents yet they react negatively when someone talks about becoming a president. Who was behind ze protest against frank? Is it kabimba or Kambwili ? Am sure it’s both. Very soon kabimba will talk and will be very negative…

    • How old is Kambwili for him to be a national youth chairpeson? Young people’s opportunities are being blocked by old people.

  21. Kulubemba kwaba akantu.

Lenshina, Saviour Chishimba, Kambwili, GBM, Sata, awe kwena. Great Kalu, Namugala, Mbala mafia, Nevers Sekwila, ba Kapwepwe, eish…..

  22. Fr bwalya should realize that mixing politics and church it’s like mixing water and oil, they Dont mixe what so ever. And before he go any further he should look at Nevers Mumba how quickly he got finished and lost direction the moment he Mumba left church and joined politics. Atleast we have best example in Nevers Mumba who is now leading a finished political party MMD. I think Fr Bwalya will be much better to go back to preaching in church and offer constructive criticism to Government from outside the political box than him forming a political party hat may not work and waste his God given energy.

  23. Tiye boi Father bwalya.Ba Sata baonaula PF .Kabimba is a bad egg in PF.PF will crack if Bwalya has formed a political party.Leave Father alone otherwise umushi wapya.I c hope in Fr Bwalya.

  24. constitution of zambia says one to be president should be married. how will ba Fr bwalya do it?

  25. Priest or no Priest, its a God given right to exercise. I read a book that challenged me entitled “trouble with Nigeria” one statement he made was that where are the good people to run the Governments. We have no right to complain if we cant come out. Like everybody else, let the Fr exercise his God given right.

  26. Tiye boi Father bwalya.Ba Sata baonaula PF .Kabimba is a baaad egg in PF.PF will crack if Bwalya has formed a political party.Leave Father alone otherwise umushi wapya.I c hope in Fr Bwalya.

  27. Chi kambwili Kwena lishulu saana. He thinks Fr.Bwalya is Mad?Ha ha ha chapwa bamambala we have a quick replacement of PF. Mwanya na Kabimba wenu.We are not happy in Zambia.we really thought PF would wonder but what we c is corruption.I can’t be in such a party.I’ll also start mobilizing members for new Fr.Bwalya. I’m disappointed with dictator behaviors of PF and now it’s a time to move with Fr.Bwalya.let us take them on.

  28. Chi kambwili Kwena lishulu saana. He thinks Fr.Bwalya is Maad?Ha ha ha chapwa bamambala we have a quick replacement of PF.

  29. “He said he made the decision to form a political party last night as part of the visions that God has been showing him.”

    No. Just no.

  30. I don’t father bwalya becoming president before HH,Chipimo,Miyanda and Mumba as he himself has correctly noted. If all these save their two terms each plus MCS,them Father bwalya will be above 80 years since he is 44 years now.

    • HH can only be president of a country called Tonga, I miss our late Mazoka, he was the real Tonga bull, true son of our ancestors land Zambia and we loved him and I gave him my vote, not this scared little man HH, he wants to destroy what we Zambians have worked for for so long, to hell with tribalism…….

  31. Go Bwalya, we opposition thta will make sense, Kambwili embarased himself with his call and just know we are ready to support him (Cheating Pipo that a litre in UK is #1.80 Ba Kambwili sure). Fr and anyone else is free to aspire to Presidence as long the qualifications are met. The other day we are told government removes subsides on Fuel in order to channel funds to developmen but where are you getting funds for Bye Elections Engineered by PF, Next incosistences . we need seriousness and timely calls we cant wait until 5yrs expires to correct. Let PF be on the Run to ensure they do things as expected.

  32. Guys, leave Fr Bwalya alone. He has all the rights to form a political party just like others. If Mulongoti can form a party , why cant Fr Bwalya? In fact it is good so that the PF is checked well. In 2016 Zambians will chose a person whom they think can deliver. So PF pull up your soaks. Dont steal our money like the MMD. Deliver to us.

Peace and Prosperity to Mother Zambia.

  33. Here is a podcast of Hon Kambwili & Father Bwalya Exchange on radio this morning.

    luchi7.podomatic.com/entry/2013-05-03T03_48_19-07_00

  34. i believe fr bwalya is man enough to do what he wants and feels in terms of being opportunistic or a subject that matter to zed. whatever the status call it them that vote who will cast the vote. let no one waste their energy or thought, let it be if it is. no need to differ. fr bwalya has got his backborne weather for dear or mean, its up to them the people, as zambia is democratic nation. who would have thought that rb would be president and of mmd

  35. No no no no! Father Bwalya you have now lost it. I supported you initially when you said you had resigned from ZESCO to reclaim your voice. I thought you were going to speak as a priest to defend the weak and voiceless in society. Now you are talking about forming a political party. This is strange. Tell me, have you hung up imikanjo for good?
If you noticed any shortcomings in the PF government and President Sata, wouldn’t have been prudent to point them out and pressure government to correct them? I can tell you father Bwalya your political party will be among the insignificant groupings which will not go anywhere. Do not bank on the huge Catholic following in Zambia. I ‘m a Catholic but I ‘m totally against your idea. Rebelling against Sata without waiting much longer to see what…

    • Mr. Bwalya must not even bring God into his short sighted dream. God does not bless in that way and if it meant anything from God he could have received more wisdom and influence to overcome the Zambia’s develompmental shortcomings or issues. A m sure God could have used him even as Zesco Board Chairman and I believe Bwaya being a Clergman, his prayers were to be the strongest weapon to guide the Board and change things around for the better. Throwing a towel is just cowardness and the moves have nothing to do with God’s Blessings. Let us hope you are not banking on church members and turn them into Cadres. If not just being men between legs together with all Ministers and Deputies claimed should come out open because they are not worthy being in Govt.

  36. Why are so many against Frank?? He fully understands what he is embarking on – he knows his rights & he is rightly exercising them – I bet he guesses his chances of becoming presido are as good as anyone else’s – who is to say otherwise – when we have proudly had a “bus-conductor” & a “? victoria station “support staff”” (to put it mildly!!!) as presidos!!!

  37. The fact of the matter is that PF is panicking. A monster they created has turned round to bite them. Its a monster that knows their tricks to the core. The nearest person to Sata in rhetorical charisma is Frank Bwalya. He has the ability to talk to Kaponyas much the same way Sata had. The Kaponyas unfortunately hold sway to our politics. His language is deceivingly colorful and is sweet music to uneducated, vernacular speaking scoundrels, the poor and the street vendors of Lusaka and Copperbelt. This constituent has been elusive to intellectuals and genuine people like HH, Mumba and Chipimo and yet to capture the Presidency, this grouping is a must. The dilemma for PF is that Frank will split the vote for this group which the party rode on its victory to State house. If the rhetoric by…

  38. … If the bellicostic rhetoric by Bwalya will convince the Kaponyas, then PF might as well kiss the Presidency bye bye. PF effectively used this group to ride to State House and any split will play very well in the hands of the UPND. On the other hand, if Frank decides to back the UPND then its fatal for PF. The problem the PF has is that they can’t use the tribal card on the priest. The influence and effectiveness of this method is waning even on the UPND and to use it on Frank wouldn’t just do because he’s one of them. Also to dismiss him as a “bitter and mad” priest as Kambwili is doing, is doing so at their own peril. When did he become mad? What about when he was campaigning for them and becoming ZESCO chairman, that time he was normal? This approach isn’t wise either. PF must…

  39. We are not fools to be fooled by every Jim and Jack. These may be sour grapes for the priest. I am sure he expected a better position in govt than that of a ZESCO board chairperson. Upon seeing that it was not forthcoming he decided to do what he is now doing. However, his timing tells me that he is not a seasoned politician save for the courage and boldness. Moreover he is a blatant liar becuase he told the nation that he was going on a retreat for 40 days, but see he is already talking of his own political party. I suspect there are people out there who want to use him in order to get some support on the CB. He must have been talking with some opposition presidential hopefuls and with the favourable constituution the PF has allowed the Zambians to make he and his friends think they…

    • Good idea! Give it a thought ba father. As a pope you move to the Vatican where there are no shanties! No cholera, no lukungu na matipa No Prof Chirwas to dupe you about non existent Railway systems, No Fred Mmembes to blackmail you into crooked newspaper partnerships. Imagine !

  40. please Fr Bwalya, get advise! Do not overate yourself! You were popular in 2011 becouse people wanted change! PF is still new in govt and people still want to see what PF has for them! Fighting PF now will only finish you! Stop being power hungry and go back to the church!

  41. At times I used to doubt when they were saying that Bembas are crooks. This time around am forced to question my conscious as to why I doubted.

  42. Mayoo mayoo lwanya lwati napa bashifwe why? I should think this is another HH on the political scene. ndetolomafye

  43. Ati vision from God nabanani? Come on. Don’t become too spiritual rather be honest and say you no longer want to be a follower but a leader pursuing personal desires to for power and leadership.

  44. For me this is dissapointing Father. There are many opposition parties (in fact too many)Why not join one of them? HH you are sleepy get this guy into your party and you get the Bemba vote!!!

  45. WALYA IS CO-HABITING WITH UPND. SOON YOU WILL KNOW THIS. HE TRIED TO LURE SOME PF MEMBERS INTO BREAKING AWAY AND FORMING A PARTY BUT IT DID NOT WORK OUT. HE IS NOW WORKING WITH HH TO HELP UPND MAKE A BREAK THROUGH IN PF STRONG HOLDS. FATHER WALYA WILL WANT A POSITION CLOSE TO THE PRESIDENCY IN ORDER TO POSITION HIMSELF FOR TAKING OVER PRESIDENCY DEPENDING ON THEIR AGREEMENT. HE EXPECTED THIS FROM THE PF WITHOUT STRIKING A DEAL HENCE WENT FLAT OUT CAMPAIGNING IN THE NAME OF SACRIFICING AND STANDING UP FOR ZAMBIA. HE GETS A GOOD JOB AS CHAIRMAN (ZESCO) BUT REALIZES IT DOES NOT POSITION HIM WELL POLITICALLY.

  46. Ladies and Gentlemen, we all have inalienable rights to form a political party and freedom of expression. Whats wrong with FR Bwalya to form a political party? He has a right to do so and besides we need a very strong opposition to make SATA work.

  47. Mr Bwalya stop mensioning the name of God..And You can never be messiah because only Jesus has been…main of us understands very well the Agenda of your church…God have mercy for Mother Zambia..
