Herve Renard has admitted that Zambia needs to improve ahead of their 2014 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers final round against either Zimbabwe or Mauritius.
Renard’s team advanced to the second round 3-1 on aggregate after beating Botswana 2-0 in the return leg of the first round at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola on Saturday.
He predicted that the second round would be more tough.
“We have a lot of part to improve before we play Zimbabwe or Mauritius,” Renard told a post-match briefing.
He, however, saluted his boys for beating the Zebras.
“Congratulations to the boys they scored two goals. I am very happy even if some things were not perfect today,” Renard added.
Meanwhile, Zimbabwe, who are leading 3-0 from the first leg, hosts Mauritius on Sunday in the first round, return leg in Harare.
And this a coach we are paying billions of kwacha (including Kalu’s cut), one who predicts a game against Zimbabwe or Mauritius as tough, 2012 AFCON champs how laughable. Football standards have really fallen in Zambia.
Wake up!!
Jay Jay,
You don’t underestimate you opponents.
Listen to every coach talk about any team they are playing, they say the same thing regardless of the strength of their opponents.
Do you want him to say they are nothing?
I don’t think you are a serious soccer fun.
@Jay Jay, why you include yourself to “WE”, do you even know where Renard’s salary comes from?
And what has Kalu done to your wife?
You should be a rugby fun not soccer cos you are very dull to understand soccer! Styopeti
He needs to replace BORNWELL MWAPE and bring in Mudenda.
@ sunrise, i agree with you about bornwell mwape, he likes ifyamaka pamo na ngonga. ninshi pa nchanga efyo bateya? look @ our chaile misheck, he controls mid-field wel and not chipantepante stars. how about situmbeko kakabapikaulepo first.
BEST Coach Zambia’s ever had- Period!!!
Eboom bakamba! And he will always be! Period!
Long live Mr. Renard. you are doing a good job.
