Zimbabwe, Zambia CHAN showdown sealed

Share

Zimbabwe confirms its 2014 CHAN qualifier date against Zambia after drawing with Mauritius at Rufaro Stadium in Harare this afternoon.

Zimbabwe finished 1-1 with Mauritius to advance to the final qualifying round 4-1 on aggregate after a 3-0 win away win in Curepipe on July 28.

However, it took until the 84th minute for Zimbabwe to score through Highlanders striker Masimba Mambare.

But the lead was short-lived when Mauritius levelled in the 90th minute via a Winny Calamb header to exit the qualifiers with a respectable away result.

Zimbabwe will host Zambia this Sunday at Rufaro Stadium in Harare while the return leg will be played on August 24 at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.

The meeting is the repeat of the 2013 COSAFA Cup final that Zambia won 2-0 at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on July 20.

  1. I am liking it. Go,go Chipolopolo and butcher them. No team should stand in our way this time. We were born to conquar them.l love u guys.

  2. Ok, the matshes between zambia and zimbabwe wil be tough coz looking at wat happened at levy stadium and also when we were beaten in zimbabwe 3 years ago when they became champions, i can say its not easy. remeber 3-0 away and 1-1 at home. it can better if its a senior team.

  3. Here is my prediction – Zambia will draw in Zimbabwe then win at Levy and after the match BUFFOON Kambwili will be wondering why the stadium was half empty.

  4. The Zimbabwean team that played in COSAFA es different from the one playing in CHAN.Zimbabwe will be no match for the mighty Chipolopolo

    • please..and where will be Zambia when Zimbabwe will be scoring and winning? okay maybe Zimbabwe is dying to reward Mugabe for winning elections for the 100th time i just don’t know. Dream on..but its not going to happen. Zimbabweans just need to tune in to watch Chipolopolo in January in SA and continue your support for Zambia as always..We love you for that but stop dreaming about CHAN. Its CHAN bye bye time now.

  5. The harder they come the easier they fall. Go,go Chipolopolo! Akabukaka baiche . lfitala pabola baiche. frustrate dem baiche and attack dem. leave dem gaspping den at levy finish dem off. Don’t let dem spoil our bringing of chan cup here. lyeeeeee..c

  6. Zimbabwe at it again. This time trying to rig the. game. Bob in football it is called match fixing and it is done with the refs. Why do you want to keep the refs for a week and will our Kambwili keep the suporters for a week as well.
