Coach Herve Renard is content with Zambia’s 1-1 draw against Senegal in Wednesday night’s friendly played in Paris.
The Teranga Lions came from behind to finish 1-1 against Chipolopolo.
Renard said Senegal was a good opposition for Zambia ahead of his team’s September 6 must- win 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Ghana in Kumasi.
“The final result is not the most important thing in a match of this nature,” Renard said.
“Senegal provided good opposition for us ahead of Ghana match. They have very athletic players I believe they will qualify for Brazil 2014 and we shall try to follow suit.
“This was a good test for our local players. We will continue working with this crop of players although some of them might not be ready to play at the highest level.”
Renard gave starts to three local players Kondwani Mtonga, Bronson Chama and Christopher Munthali .
And Senegal coach Alain Giresse saluted his charges for forcing a 1-1 draw against Zambia.
“We have achieved our goal because everyone played. The boys have done well, those playing in the team for the first time adapted well. They took their chances well. It was good,” Giresse said.
Zambia took the lead in the second minute through striker Jacob Mulenga before Lokomotiv Moscow striker Dame Ndoye leveled scores six minutes later.
Renard will be shocked due to his luck of planning.i expected him to have camped in one of the west African countries for a month so that player get used to the high temperatures in that region

Mauzu, you cant camp for a month when all your players have club commitments. FIFA will only allow Zambian players to be released five days before the game. Remember when we camp for a long period it means the players are off season.
camping in that region for one month would xpose our game plan and weaknesses to our rivals as this march is causing them sleepless nights.Ghana is doing everything possible to deny zambia a win.

Compare this coach’s record to any Zambian national team soccer coach in history and you will see that he is worthy of being the current Zambian National Soccer Team coach. There are good draws and bad draws; this was a good draw because Senegal is a tough team and there is more cohesion in the team. Win or lose in Ghana, the future is promising for Zambian soccer.

There are some things that I observe about Renard:
1. Jonas Sakuwaha was the supplier of balls to Given Singuluma at CHAN but Renard started playing them separately. Not only him but the Nkana boys too. He doesn’t know how to partner players. He doesn’t understand partnership in football.
2. He doesn’t read games. He substitutes very late or substitutes the wrong players. 3. There are players he fears or likes, he used to likes Chris Katongo and will not substitute even when he is not in form. In these last games Kalaba has not been doing fine but he plays him anyway.
4. He doesn’t have good game plan, he removes a striker and replaces him with a defender when we are a long way from stoppage time.
5. When Renard hates a player even when he apologises he finds it difficult to…

I agree with @14 Concerned citizen. Renard has achieved what NO other Zambia national team coach, local or foreign has ever managed. Zambia finally is amongst the elite few African countries that have got their hands on this Trophy. Remember of the 50+ African nations, only about 15 approx have managed this feat. You may now not appreciate Renard, but you can NEVER re-write History.

But I will still repeat it, we have only seven gud teams in African dat can represent de continent very well on de international stage lik Brazil 2014 for now, namely Ghana B/S, Nigeria S/E,Cote Devior T/E(de three mosquitiers,West african triplets) n de other teams period.
