The Lusaka Castle 7s Rugby tournament has been postponed for a second successive year.

Zambia’s marque rugby tournament has been a prominent fixture on the countrys’ annual international sporting calendar since 1999.

“The decision to postpone the tournament has been arrived at after careful consideration of the logistical requirements needed to hold a successful major tournament like the Castle 7s,” Union president Martin Musunka said.

The tournament was due to be held from September 7-8 at its traditional venue at Lusaka Rugby Club.

Last year’s tournament was also cancelled over the same reasons and its cancellation this year have raised fears over its future.

  1. This is what happens when you put all your eggs in one basket, and are incapable of selling a tournament when a major sponsor pulls out….what have they been doing in the past 24 months sitting on their hands? Why is it that our Kenyan counterparts have succeeded in hosting such Rugby tournaments?

  2. Ba martin just look for another major sponsor ( KCM 7).You should also consider suing ba zb for inconveniencing you, they promised last that they will sponsor it this year.
