GRANDSTAND: Dark Days at Power Dynamos

Share

Power Dynamos left their now edgy fans with more questions than answers on Sunday after capitulating to morale draining away defeat to Kabwe Warriors at Godfrey ‘Ucar’ Chitalu Stadium in Kabwe.

Warriors thumped a hapless Power 3-0 to send the ailing six-time league champions to an all-time low to edge closer and closer to the relegation zone.

Power is the only club in the top flight to have never been relegated.

Goals from Larry Siakapisa in the 7th, a Richard Kasonde penalty on 14 minutes and the final from veteran striker Musonda Mweuke in the 74th minute ensured Warriors first win since June 1.

The major talking point will be whether coach Tennant Chilumba has the capacity to save Power’s season after winning one, drawing one and losing three games in charge since taking over from Beston Chambeshi who was fired in June.

Furthermore, none of his key mid-season’s signing have helped turn around Power’s fortunes.

Controversial striker Francis Kombi continues to misfire on top of giving Power a headache over his now proverbial tale over his player status.

Goalkeeper Becky Bizangi, whom Konkola Blades were pleased to see the back of, was the culprit on Sunday as Power hover just outside the drop zone in 12th place on 20 points.

Meanwhile, Blades under Chambeshi are not doing badly with the ex-Power coach picking up seven points out of a possible nine since moving to Chililabombwe.

  1. BA NEIGHBOUR ninshi ilecitika kanshi? Poseniko amano get back to the drawing table and find the equation to avoid going into the relegation zone.Do not put the blame on your coach but see how can Synchronize your players, areas like goal keeping and the up front strikers should checked properly.

    • Power as someone said above pull up your socks and stand firm to remain in premier division .With all the incentives and admirable conditions that you enjoy you just want to disappoint your sponsors.

  6. why are we beating about the bush? this Power executive has failed. its the worst in the club history. they fired the secretary and coaches but team is n’t winning so who is the problem? owen has recruited a relative for a secretary who looks madly lost and a crook for a team manager hw can the team win? abash owen and team.

  7. Ba power those players you using are finished dont blame the technical bench . my team ripped power to water level at Ucar chitalu stadium simply because your players are finished , be carefull with the way you handle this issue, Owen mwendabai is too old to tear a defence like he did and so is musonda mweuke. Power dynamos players still think that they can intimidate opponents by simple shouts of aka yellow aka yellow from the terraces when bola ninshi eleteyeka. fire the coach you see what will happen. power players are finished dont blame the coach because most of the times during that game power players were caught napping.

  9. Ubwafya ba POWER namutemwa nokulasenda ama players yonse pa konkola blades. lwenu, ifwe pakonkola twalibelesha nosenda league as long as we are in premier.count them. situmbeko, maybin, beck, nyerenda nebonshishibe. go SHARP RAZORRRRR!

  10. On paper, Power boast of some of the best players in the league but why they seem to be struggling remains an enigma to me. Is it the accelerated frequency of changing coaches? In this particular encounter, Power were at their inefficient worst, a stark revelation that something is wrong. Stung too early in the game they seemed to have abandoned everything to fate. They could hardly piece together nice passes and their goalkeeper did not help the team either.
Today the Club stands perilously close to relegation waters but whatever happens Power must never consider firing Tenant. The Club has fired and hired enough coaches in the recent past. May be let Management, for a change, consider stepping down and aside.
    Congratulations to warriors though.

  11. Y fire n employ wen we kno dat th problem wil b th same? Don’t bring chabinga..jst brin back ba kabole so dat he can help chilumba n th problem will b solved. Power supporters viva..

    • You are just finished see you in division one next season and keep on blaming your perforated legs and underweight players on the pitch.

    • Tashicela mumo ba power 90 at least you will still bounce back in premier division in 2016 after the presidential and parlimentarian election under the new leadership of the opposition party.
