The ruling Patriotic Front (PF) in Lusaka has echoed calls that Defense Minister Geoffrey Mwamba discloses the names of the members of a purported clique in the ruling party that is plotting against President Michael Sata to stand for presidency in 2016.
Mr. Mwamba has been recently quoted in the media to have said that the said clique of alleged senior members of the party had already started positioning itself for the position of president and that the clique also allegedly wants to derail President Sata’s plans to continue ruling and developing the nation.
The PF Lusaka District leadership has charged that if Mr. Mwamba who is also PF Kasama Member of Parliament has the names of the members of the said Clique in the ruling party he should be bound to reveal their names as having such a clique in the party is a danger.
District chairperson Goodson Banda says such an alleged clique can not be allowed to exist in the ruling party because President Sata is the sole candidate to take part in the 2016 presidential election and that his candidature is non negotiable.
Mr. Banda has also urged the senior PF party leadership to take such a revelations seriously and engagement Mr. Mwamba so that investigations can be instituted to ascertain existence of such a clique which as he has described as one playing cheap politics.
The PF Lusaka District chairperson was speaking in an interview with Qfm.
The reality is that these cliques always exist in political parties. There is a difference between euphoria and sincere loyalty to a leader.

I don’t blame the clique at all, let president sata start ruling period. Twakwaba president who hides like this. Lets not blame the clique, they are actually echoing the concerns of the general citizenry. PLOT 1 IS NOT ISOLATION WARD where the president should be hiding. We need him to have a grip on the nation and his ministers, his behaviour is embarrassing to say the least. He only appears in public when the online media speculate about his health only to show them that he is alive. He is very childish, very immature. Look at the issues that need his guidance, inflation naipena, the issue of the judges, that chikopa issue and everything in the nation has just gone berserk.
we are tired of this thing, when would we hear talking about development?, everything now is all about politics?, Mr GBM has nothing to do as a minister but a lot as a politician, so lat him go and do what he thinks for his personal gain not for ordinary zambians since Mr Sata cant rebuke or hear his stance about it, therefore its noise you are creating.if its true or false, Mr Sata should have told the nation his stance.
I owez get worried with the reaction from our President. He is quiet why?? Suspected carders have continued land allocation and beating people. Now it is this nonsense where some Ministers and MPs spent time for development going round endorsing him and he is MUTE! Why ba President. Issue a statement all this nonsense will stop. The PF should learn from the Zambian political history. Having come through a democratic platform, PF should exercise democratic rule even within its ranks. The issue of sole candidacy is against democratic principles. PF cadres should therefore accept that democratic principles entails that the Party President should be challenged if there are ambitious candidates within. This does not amount to lack of loyalty. Loyalty is to the ideals of Party, not to its President.

GBM is an incosistent and irrational person. Many have been the times when his conduct and tendencies have been called into question. PF would do well to remove the kid’s gloves and deal GBM a mighty blow, by sidelining him, or else with his resources, he might just succeed in misleading and confusing some gullible members and leaders of PF.

Truly speaking this man is not suitable for presidency. He’s illiterate, inaccessible, in poor health.
An illiterate is a great political liability to this country, laws are being trumpled on,eg appointing pipo who dont qualify and many others.
There is no need for investigation,the group is well known. You claim u are PF,thy endorse your President,u are irritated and u attack the person making the endorsement. Even the one asking for the probe is one of them and thy are pretending big time bt its too late.

Let them investigate so that the issue blows the boat apart. The investigation is clearly in the interest of national progress which we should not confuse with PF’s survival.
GBM is just being used to float the agenda item so that the nation can discus the issue and thereafter asses if the nation is for the idea. There is no way GBM on his own can bring out such HUGE comments without backing of state house, he could have been fired already.
So winter and Mmembe are playing dirt tactics. Mwamba Knows who they are and should end there. Everybody in PF knows this group
PF has too many vuvuzelas and it is tiring to hear this unending yapping. Almost everyone in this party behaves like a nagging spouse. Please! You have talked for over two years, time to shut up and start working seriously. This is irritating especially that Sata doesn’t seem to be in control of anything or anyone including these ministers or else he would have counselled them in their usual cabinet meetings. Twanaka nomungulu uyu.
