Acting Kasama District Chairperson Caleb Monta has been suspended with immediate effect.

This is according to the PF provincial Executive Committee in Northern Province in the suspension letter obtained by ZANIS in Kasama today.

Others suspended include Provincial Vice Treasurer Wedson Sinkololwe, Kasama District Youth Information and Publicity Secretary Jackson Simutenda and Kasama District Women Information and Publicity Secretary Ireen Chitongo.

The suspension two letters of suspension dated 26th August, 2013 read in part that the quartet have been suspended for behavior likely to divide the party and bring it into ridicule and disrepute in accordance with article 24 b) and c) of the PF party constitution.

According to the letter, it is alleged that on 23rd of this month, the quartet organized and incited innocent marketers at a named famous business complex in the first class trading area of Kasama to cause confusion in the area.

It was also said they later gave the marketers and some taxi drivers K50.00 each to march to a named community radio station to demand for the dissolution of the PF legitimately elected Provincial Executive Committee.

Mr. Monta has been given fourteen days in which to exculpate himself and will remain suspended from taking part in all party activities until his fate is determined by the Provincial disciplinary committee and eventually the Provincial Committee and replaced by his vice chairperson John Chilopa.

Recently, there has been a lot of squabbles amongst members of the PF in Kasama differing on the endorsement of President Micheal Sata to run for Presidency in the 2016 tripartite general elections.

  7. If the PF was a democratic party, it would welcome its members’ difference in opinions and decisions! Of course the members with a conscience will not give Sata their endorsement!! Go figure!! Only the ones who do not have the country’s interest at heart, but their own stomachs, will endorse Ukwa to remain Zambia’s absent president!
