Mayuka Moves to Sochaux

Share

Chipolopolo striker Emmanuel Mayuka has joined French Ligue 1 side FC Sochaux on a one-year loan deal from Southampton.

Mayuka’s Israel based FIFA agent Nir Karin confirmed the deal on Monday.

The striker has failed to command a place in the Southampton starting eleven after joining the Saints a year ago from Swiss side Young Boys.

“Emmanuel Mayuka has signed a 1 year contract with FC Sochaux,” Karim revealed.

“FC Southampton have agreed a 1 year loan under an undisclosed fee. In end of this 1 year Mayuka will return automatic to FC Southampton,” he said.

Karim said Mayuka turned down offers from Scottish giants Celtic in preference to the French side.

“Mayuka preferred Sochaux over Celtic, Standard Lieuge and Championship clubs between others.”

Sochaux are currently second from the bottom of the table after a round of four matches played so far in the French Ligue 1

Mayuka scored one goal for Southampton.

    • no need to try EPL again, the amateurish rugby football played in the epl does not suit the skills zambians ve. Any skillful player finishes in the epl coz its running directionless football.

12 of epl clubs are crap.

  1. Why not Celtic?? they enjoy dominance, winning trophies and possible champions league football. Its all there. I would chose them than a bottom placed team. Mayuka is not going back to the saints after 1yr. The move is a polite way of kicking him out. They shipped him out the minute he requested a loan spell and they are happy to recover some money sent on him.

    • Its an opportunity for him to get more playing time, gain confidence and experience… remember Southampton signed a striker for £14m so it would have been wasteful for them to have 5 strikers…why should they send him to Celtic when they didn’t ask for him? This is better than warming the bench and a plus for Zambia.
      Wake up!!

    • Playing Time…….. There are big names at Celtics , I think it is much harder than where he was. In this team in France he will get some playing time.

This is my Logical conclusion to pick the French team !!!

  2. just yesterday, i was told he scored a decisive goal for sounthampton today nkani yinangu. bwelenikofye nkana is waiting for you sir!

  3. @6.1 MR BEAN, thanx for helping me out thanx for your well reasoned comment. Most of these brainwashed colonial thinking zambians dont see weaknesses of the epl. Its just an overhyped boring football league, no wonder 80% of england national team players are bench warmers or fringe players at their clubs.
Its a league well marketed but hollow in every sense. England last won world cup during stone age era due to home ground advantage.
