Zesco Utd EXCO demand improved showing

Share

The executive at Zesco United has demanded improved performance from the FAZ Super Division leaders.

Club secretary Justin Mumba says his executive was disappointed with Zesco’s display in the Barclays quarterfinals where the team needed penalty shoot-outs to eliminate Division One side Green Eagles.

Mumba described Zesco’s performance at Nkoloma Stadium on Sunday as below average.

“The players are asked to return to their winning ways and be a strong competitor in the league,” he said.

“The executive further wants to remind non-performing players that they risk having their contracts not extended as the standards of the club demand top class and hardworking,” Mumba said.

He added:”The sponsors Zesco Limited put in so much support and the only way to pay them back is by delivering the desired results.”

Prior to the Barcalys Cup quarterfinals, Zesco had forced a goalless draw at Nkwazi – four days after losing 3-1 to Power Dynamos in Kitwe.
