Interim coach Patrice Beaumelle has added Nkana striker Ronald Kampamba to the Chipolopolo team that will face Egypt in Thursday’s friendly in Cairo.

And injured Netherland based striker Jacob Mulenga and Zesco United midfielder Kondwani Mtonga have been ruled out of the Egypt friendly.

Kampamba, who was initially snubbed, was part of the team that regrouped in Lusaka on Sunday afternoon.

The leading scorer in the FAZ Super League on 15 goals trained with the rest of the squad on Monday.

“I saw Ronald against Jordan two days ago and I spoke with Jacob Mulenga, he is injured he played on 12 minutes yesterday for Utrecht.” said Beaumelle.

“I think maybe it was time to give the top scorer of the league who will trave with us and he will get the opportunity to show us what he can do it is good for Ronald,” he said.

On Mtonga, Beaumelle said:”He won travel with us. He is feeling pain so he will be out for some days.”

Meanwhile, the squad is expected to leave for Cairo on Tuesday.

  1. That’s good Patrice try Ronald Kampamba and see what he can do,i think you’d make a good coach this is what we need GO ZAMBIA GO.

  2. Sate Sate is very sharp he created a lot of chances for Festus wen they were playing Dynamos but where is Criphod Mulenga because a vedict has a period lets use players who can deliver coz no one is perfect in this world .

    • Soccer fan, Crifold Mulenga is a finishing aset, Watch PSL SS4. The guy does not even make a bench in his new team. He is not a Clifold that played Celtic, he even failed to tick at Supersport United. Believe me the guy is not a Chipolopolo material as at now. Let us wait for him to gain form

  3. Well ! Egypt are out of the world cup race whether they practice with Zambia or not. The match will be the last throw of the dice and the end of the road for the old guard of players who have failed to qualify their country to the World cup since 2006 when Ivory Coast first eliminate them, then Algeria in 2010 and now Ghana…sad ending. But they can hold their heads high for beating the same teams in their run to winning the Africa Cup three times. At least they have some Gold medals which the other teams don’t have despite good records of qualifying for tournaments.

  4. Jelous down mwe fibantu. I think this Beaumelle guy is fantastic and uses his head well. He has considered Kampamba who was left out by the former coach when Zambia needed him most for critical matches. And let ‘s face it, being a top scorer for two seasons is not a mere fluke. If compared to Renard, Patrice is worth 99%
