Simuwela suffered injuries

Share

An independent post-mortem conducted on the body of slain Moses Simuwela by pathologist Professor Neil Nkanza has concluded that the Patriotic Front (PF) cadre had no obvious disease process of internal organs at the time of death.

This brings into question the earlier post-mortem results which indicated that Simuwela had died of natural causes.

Instead, Prof Nkanza in a summary of his findings has noted Simuwela had suffered bruises on the left ribs and thoracic muscles which may be consistent with trauma he suffered before death.

A full report is expected to come out on Thursday
Prof Nkanza could not determine the cause of death due to the advanced state of decomposition of the body of late Simuwela.
The Prof Nkanza post-mortem report concluding that late Simuwela did not suffer from any disease process of internal organs prior to his death has effectively put into question the results of the post-mortem conducted by the police which suggested that the PF cardrr had died of natural causes.

Bruised ribs are usually the result of a direct blow or trauma to the chest, leading to intense pain and shallow breathing.

Prof Nkanza further observed in his post-mortem report that there were abrasions on the left knee and right foot of the deceased.

The post-mortem report obtained by the Daily Nation yesterday indicated that although the cause of death could not be determined due to advanced state of decomposition of the body, there was no evidence of atherosclerosis of the arteries at the time Simuwela was dying.

Simuwela died two weeks ago after the pro-Wynter Kabimba faction clashed with the Julius Komaki group that has been calling for the expulsion of the Justice Minister from the ruling party for allegedly creating parallel structures within the party with the hope of taking over the presidency of the ruling party by 2016.

The body of Simuwela that was initially at Levy Mwanawasa Hospital was secretly moved to the University Teaching Hospital where the police conducted the post-mortem whose results were rejected by the family members who later demanded for an independent pathologist to carry out the post-mortem.

Simuwela’s body was in some unclear circumstances taken from the relatives of the late Simuwela and whisked to Leopards Hill cemetery where it was hurriedly buried.

    • Like I had predicted earlier the police wanted to ensure that the body had decomposed to the extent that at exhumation the pathologist would not be able to determine the cause of death. CRIMINALS!!! You have Simuwela’s blood on your hands.

    • When you see Saulosi and Mushota going silent, then you know that things are SERIOUS…..

I’m really saddened and sorry to hear all this.

  1. Ba Lt, please confirm the facts and avoid rumors. The cadre died from trauma which is a state of great shock and this was the cause of death, he was a victim of cardiac arrest, or respiratory arrest.

    • Paolo, this is not your relative, so you can say that.
You think he should just be buried and forget about all the pain of loss experienced by the parents, who really wanted to know what took away their son.
You are very heartless my brother.

    • @Cs…..I don’t think anyone can Condon such stupidity by cadres. Why did he go there in the first place when he new such things might happen??

  2. Heart breaking heart breaking…… my heart bleeds for the relatives such pain, they will be traumatised for the rest of their lives, nomatter how his life may have palyed out he didnt deserve to go like this and the handling of the entire saga….. my word such evil people, please find all the culprits and send them Jail now!

    • @cindy
The question is; what is happening in Zambia… if such things can be allowed to occur??
For sure heart breaking and sickening!!!!

    • @ Ndobo,
What does GBM and Kambimba have to say about this have they even been to the funeral house? As a woman I feel so much pain it hurts to the cole of my heart, imagine what his mother must be going through? This is how monsters are created i guess, just imagine what thoughts are passing throught his parents minds?

    • Because of the way the government has handled this unfortunate death, the name of the police pathologist who determined the cause of death as being due to natural causes won’t be outed. I hope the pathologist sleeps easy at night even when he knows he has been colluding and shielding wrong. Very unprofessional!

    • Please LT ask Muvi tv to show the public the clip where simuwela was being beaten by the police because i saw that on the first day and they have never shown that again.

  3. Everything is being interfered with, traditional Affairs and now even medical proceedings, let that pathologist that gave fake results have his licence striped!!! I mean which fool ‘d believe that the guy died of natural cause, death by bruising is now natural?? Wow then thez no more murder!

    • I totally agree with you. Is he not the same pathologist who conducted fake postmortem on the Maketo Makowani the daughter of Honourable Micheal Mabenga. The woman was murdered by her husband the son former PF MP and member Elizabeth Chitika Mulobeka. Please the toothless Medical Council of Zambia(Who are only active to block their members who want to go and work outside Zambia by refusing to give them clearance letters} should investigate these fake pathologist who breach their professional ethics with impunity. We want to what will happen to the fake and gong’a pathologist because they are danger to society.

  4. This brings to rest that he was murdered and the culprit is winter kabimba.so those who had doubts on my comments the other day lack brainstorming.mhsrip.life has no replacement.

  5. If you saw on TV, the young man was still alive at the back of the police car just after he was beaten. He was pronounced dead upon reaching the hospital. I do not know the odds of someone in that situation dying of natural causes are…….highly unlikely and the Professor’s report sounds plausible

  6. We told you so. Next time when you vote think and ask questions. Do not use the belly voting.
People are dying in very funny instances and where is the real Zambian here? My rights and the whole humanity is crying.

  7. This is worrisome! The Government is now turning to be the Mafia. I thought governments are the ones who are supposed to fight organised crime and not the other way round? I am getting scared of the goings on in Zambia!!

  8. Why did the police bury the body? they should be taken to court for trying to conceal evidence in a criminal case. Why have the police sunk so low just to appease Sata and his murderers?

  9. CRIMINAL AND EVIL PF AND ZAMBIA POLICE SCHEMING! BUT YOU HAVE FOUND GENUINE ZAMBIANS.

YOU WILL BE HOUNDED OUT COME 2016, UNLESS YOU REDEEM YOURSELVES. BLOOD OF INNOCENT PEOPLE SO SOON IN YOUR ASCENT TO POWER.

    GOD HELP US.

  10. This is simple may the curse of the lord be on whoever is responsible for this young boys death may death follow them in there homes and in there death will the curse leave them

  11. Very sad indeed. Shocking sequence of events with the usual police unprofessional ism – probably being dangled as puppets by their masters hidden in the near-by bush. By the way, pathologists in other parts of the world have been able to determine the cause of someone’s death even years later after exhuming the body (even finding that one was poisoned) Perhaps the circumstances are grim in this case or there is a lack of forensic resources to go further with the postmortem?
