Kapeya refutes Chikusu poisoning media report

Dr.-Patrick-Chikusu

Chief government spokesperson Mwansa Kapeya has refuted media reports suggesting that the late Health Deputy Minister Dr. Patrick Chikusu was allegedly poisoned or his death induced after he resigned from government after president Michael Sata allowed the firing of nurses that went on strike.

Mr. Kapeya has told Qfm news in a telephone interview that it is not true that Dr. Chikusu was poisoned or his death induced after he threaten to resign from government as he never threatened to resign over the firing of the nurses that went on strike.

Mr. Kapeya says on Friday November 29, a day before he fell sick Dr. Chikusu was actually in Parliament answering question for oral answers on his Ministry the reason why such media reports cannot be true.

Mr. Kapeya says such media reports are actually news to the PF government as it is not possible that such a thing would happen.

Dr. Chikusu who was MMD Katuba Member of Parliament was put to rest on Saturday yesterday at the Leopards Hill Memorial Park in Lusaka.

  1. its the usual garbage from the devils at watchdog. How could they poison him and at the same time evacuate him to south Africa into the hands of doctors over whom they have no control-if they meant to kill him they would have kept him at UTH and let doctors “in the system” take care of him and bury the evidence.lt does not make sense at all and it is plain mischief by the watchdog hiding behind anonymous sources

  2. ok!! Mr kapeya i believe you… but how did he get a heart attack after the meeting with the presido? was he shouted at, hence the heart attack??

By the way Mr kapeya.. 53 heads of states from all over the world have confirmed that they will attend mandela`s funeral… is Zambia on that list??

    • @ndobo,
You have posed a very good question about Zambia’s representative at Mandela’s funeral. If Sata makes a mistake of attending he will be an embarrassment through his loose tounge and lack of diplomacy, civility and etiquette.

    • @Ndobo… about Chisuku later, first tuleya ku ng’anga.
      About invitation:
      – RB is invited by his friend Casanova Zuma.
      – KK is invited by Tabo Mbeki & his father + the ANC old-timers.
      – Sata is invited by Ikhata’s Mangesithu Buthelezi.
Honestly Sata (informer constable) shouldn’t be line-up with freedom fighters.

  3. Pf is capable of doing anything for their survival. I hope this is a warning to other opposition members who are standing in opposition with one leg & another in opposition. Pf is very craft & not honest people.

  4. kapaya you should have allowed for a post-mortem to be carried out. how do we believe you when we know that such schemes in the intelligence exist. I have read a lot of literature on calculated schemes of elimination so am bound to believe the watchdog story

  5. Kapeya you are not convincing at all. Did he threaten to resign or not? Why did he go to state house only to suffer a heart attack there after?. Something is fishy here?

  6. Mr Kapeya is an illiterate chap who is not qualified to hold that position hence his empty waffle. I understand he is only good at telling those old fairy tales around an evening fire. From what he has said one can conclude that there is no smoke without fire.

  7. Kapaya or is it Kapeya must be an extremely dull creature, you mean he did not realise that the fact that Chikusu was fine until he went to state house supports the poisoning story?

  8. Dudelove you killed him then, where is the post mortem results, doctor’s report is
100 times better than believing this spokesman, if you believe him it shows how easy
it is to deceive you the right thing for Kapeya to do is give us the post mortem to back up his words

  9. The ZWD and LT are telling lies and they is on truth in what they are reporting. The First born son to the late Dr. Chikusu is also amedical doctor and he has denied the kachepa medical report. We need better reporting and dig deeper for the truth like the post news paper of Zambia.

  10. Not too far fetched for these evil PF thugs to do such a thing as poisoning our MMD members.See what they are doing to RB and Chirwa?

  11. It is sad that SPECULATIONS have now become substitutes for HEADLINE NEWS in some “wannabe news outlets.” A once respected ZW has now completely lost credibility and reason to be called a NEWS SOURCE. Whoever decided to make the ZW a ‘go-to’ ATTACK-DOG against PF has really ruined this once vibrant and TRUSTWORTH news blog. Now, very little that this MOUTHPIECE for the disgruntled can be believed—what a lost opportunity for them to have become the “BBC” of Zambia!

It is simply fascinating to watch how low a supposedly trustworthy News Blog is willing to go when people in charge decide to sell their souls and morals to the winds of vitro Politics.

Dr. Chikusu could have come from church and still suffer an Heart Attack. That is the nature of the beast. It is just that Simple!

    • you sound to be one gullible 1diot in the diaspora. chikusu was at statehouse previous day. an indication he was healthy besides he is a medical doctor who should’ve been conscience of his condition, so why all of a sudden drop dead like an over ripe mango?

    • Why would a full cabinet minister (albeit a comedian) respond to a supposedly not newsworthy ZWD. Why does the VP refer to the ZWD in parliament? I believe this poisoning story was first on Muvi TV. Anyhow, there are a lot of us that will continue reading the ZWD, they are the only source of new that the traditional media are dead scared to publish.

  12. Postmortem was done, and the son who is a medical Doctor as well confirmed via the media that poison was found in gall bladder.

    • If you ask ZWD they will tell you Mwanawasa was poisoned by Sata, so was Chiluba, so was Kunda, so was Sakeni, and now Mandela! lol.

  13. That’s why i call zwd demons.Lt u have also been initieted in Satan’s kingdom. These bloggers that buy into such stories are gullible whose souls have been captured by the devil. What do u want to achieve with such lies? fo ols !

  14. As long as God lives u will never succeed with you falsehood and slander in Jesus’ name! You are even aspiring to become our leaders when u are a useless pipo.

  15. Since Dr. Chikusu died almost suddenly, we cannot rule out poisoning, heart attack, and other sudden killers. It is no time to defend oneself but to leave it to the Almighty God, who judges in righteous.

My leaders, do not join politics to eat like Mr. Munkombwe. If you are an opposition MP remain so until your party has the privilege to form govt. If it doesn’t, be an effective MP. Visit your constituency regularly, sacrifice your personal resources to better your community. Politics of the belly kills as you are unlikely to watch what you eat and drink always.

  16. EVEN IF SATA WANTED TO KILL CHIKUSU. THAT COULD BE A VERY POORLY EXECUTED PLAN. LET US STOP SPECULATING. IT SEEMS SOME PEOPLE HAVE NOT ACCEPTED THAT PF IS NOW IN POWER. AND INSTEAD OF CAMPAIGNING THEY ARE NOW MALIGNING. AND DONT BE SURPRISED WHEN SATA WINS THE SECOND TERM. THE REASON IS THAT THERE IS NO TANGIBLE OPPOSITION BUT A CROP OF BITTER PERSONS WHO HAVE SOLD THEIR SOUL TO MALIGNING AND THROWING MUD AT SATA’S NAME. I THINK THERE ARE MANY AREAS OF POLICY AND GOVERNANCE ON WHICH WE CAN TAKE THE PF TO TASK CONSTRUCTIVELY. NOT THESE PETTY SQUABBLES THAT ARE MOOTED I
    N JEALOUSY.

  17. The chief speculator here is Mr. Kapeya. He should not have responded to ZWD’s revelation that poison was found in Chikusu body. No body is pointing a figure at any one. Only those who did it, if he was poisoned, will try their best to defend themselves as the guilty are always afraid.

This happens when people die suddenly. There is always speculation and it is normal and it will soon pass and no one will be prosecuted for poisoning Chikusu. He is gone and we are all waiting for our turn. Everybody dies, except God.
