A village headman of Lusitu ward in Chirundu district has appealed to government to address the shortage of drugs and other medical equipment at Lusitu clinic.

Headman Simwela said the clinic has not been supplied with drugs for some months now therefore creating a shortage of medication for more than 200 patients that visit the centre daily.

He said in an interview with ZANIS in Siavonga today that the health centre also lacks an ambulance to refer patients to bigger health facilities.

The traditional leader said government should immediately provide the health centre with adequate drugs and medical supplies.

Meanwhile, headman Simwela has complained that his village has not yet received farm inputs for this season.

He however urged government to send the farm inputs on time for the village to have a successful farming season.

He said government’s commitment to assisting farmers with farm inputs especially in rural areas needed to be translated into action and on time.

” It’s important for government to send inputs under the Farmer Input Support Programe(FISP) to the area on time because time is running out for farmers,” said headman Simwela.

And headman Intambale of the same ward said in an interview with ZANIS today that cattle diseases in the area are persistent, a development he said has partially been caused by inadequate dip tanks and lack of a drug store in the area.

He said government should take an active approach in addressing cattle diseases in the area to prevent loss of livestock which might ignite hunger in the area.

  1. Please stop with all this whining and demands! Don’t you know the current government does not have the brains, thinking capacity or strategic wherewithal to multi-task??? One at a time please! They are dealing with more important things like the Kabimba-GBM issue, Panga killers issue, Kaseba smiling issue and if they have time left, the dismissed nurses’ issue and only then can you come with your lack of medicine and fertilizer nonsense!
VIVA PF! SATA FOREVER. IF YOU DON;T LIKE IT HUG A TRANSFORMER!!
