Beaumelle takes positives from Cecafa outing

Share

Patrice Beaumelle has described his first competition outing during Zambia Cecafa Cup out in Kenya as a great experience.

Beaumelle admitted the Sudan put a blemish on his hopes of reaching the final at Cecafa where he ended his three-match losing run.

“My concern was to go in the tournament with the boys a bit exhausted after the long league and the Cosafa,” said at KK International Airport in Lusaka upon arrival from Kenya on Friday.

“I found the boys step by step, they adapted very well with the conditions they were very much ready, the mood was very good and we wanted to achieve something.”

Beaumelle missed out on the final after losing 2-1 extra-time to Sudan in a dramatic semifinal played in Mombasa.

“Sometimes it is a way to improve to get experience to do some good things from bad things. With this kind of tournament we can give to the boys credit and to prepare the future with the Chipolopolo,” the Frenchman said.

Beaumelle won four games, lost and drew match after initial defeats in friendly’s to Brazil, Egypt and Jordan.

  1. Yes, its a great experience you just continue building your CV at the expense of these docile Zambians like HR did, until a good offer comes knocking.

  2. You always need to be positive. The past we can learn from in order to build a better future. We have to make do with what we have and this coach and these players is what we have at the moment. We need to criticise them constructively but also remember to commend them when they do something good. A bronze at CECAFA is not bad for a team that is in the building process. Don’t give up coach. Keep going and prove your critics wrong. Kudos to all the players who participated in this tornament. Bravo Chipolopolo, we always love you!

  3. well said Jay Jay. I don’t and will never understand why a bunch of my fellow country men always have to settle for second best or worse in almost everything. Look at the caliber of people we elect to office both political and non-political. Here we are throwing confetti on some unknown chancer who can’t even be hired as a coach for a middle school in the developed world. Really disappointing.

    • The boy has been an assistant coach through out…he has never managed even a club and we let him manage a national team. Only in Zambia!!

    • The worst thing to do in the history of Zambian football is to have this Bumelle to coach the National team. Nangu nikufuna ma expartriates to coach Zambia surely not this one. We have better Zambian coaches than this.

  4. Kuyamba timayamba bwino koma poor finishing ndiye nkani.

Even in Christianity very few performers finish the race so dont worry, problem of Zambia is the many coaches we have, The Kambwili, the Kalwisha, the Mtonga and the Nation. Be strong, Zambians talk a lot. When they win, they will praise you when they loose they will hail insults on you.

    • You clearly have NEVER heard of the British or French or Spanish media. … these guys can cause a football manager to commit suicide through mere words.

  5. A coach who has confidence in strikers like F Mbewe & B Mwape can not take a team anywhere. Had we good energetic, burly strikers we could have won the championship. In the past we had real ‘bombers’ no any more.
In fact if you look very carefully at Mwape you will notice that he is a shy character who is always looking down. As for Mbewe he is not a fighter and does not pack shots in the legs.

  6. My family every time say that I am wasting my time here at net, but
I know I am getting know-how everyy day by reding thes fastidious content.
