Government says it will not take seriously the resignation of Geoffrey Mwamba as Defence Minister.

Chief Government Spokesperson Mwansa Kapeya said in an interview that this is because Mr. Mwamba has not officially written to Government that he has relinquished his position.

Mr. Kapeya said Mr. Mwamba has only resigned by word of mouth making it difficult for government to believe and make a comprehensive statement.

“It’s difficult to take someone seriously by word of mouth until they put it on paper. At this stage, we are still not sure if he has resigned or not,” Mr Kapeya said.

Mr. Mwamba earlier announced his resignation as Defence Minister with immediate effect citing the impasse between Government and the Bemba Royal Establishment as the reason behind his unexpected resignation.

Mr Mwamba told members of the Press that had gathered at his home that he had been given an ultimatum by the head of State to choose whether his allegiance lay with him as president or with Paramount Chief Chitimukulu designate Henry Sosala.

He however, said that looking at the history he had with the Patriotic Front as party and Mr Sata, he felt the president had put him in an awkward position by asking him to take sides.

“Naumfwa kwati bamfutatila,” he said in icibemba meaning he felt like the president had turned his back on him.

The ultimatum follows the visit he paid with his wife Chama to Chief Chitimukulu’s town-house Sunday evening. During the visit, he pledged to continue supporting the embattled chief whose has outstanding issues with Government over his succesion.

Mr Mwamba who himself is a member of the royal family and is closely related to Mr Sosala whom he refers to as his Grandfather, said he could not turn his back against the paramount chief designate as he was a blood relation.

He said when President Sata received information of his visit to Mr Sosala’s home, the head of State gave him an ultimatum to choose between being a member of his Cabinet or aligning himself with Mr Sosala.

“I received a call from George Chella. I don’t know what he meant by calling me on George Chella’s phone But I picked up and Chella said hold on for the president. When I spoke to him, the president asked me why I lied that he had sent me to see the Chitimukulu.

“The president then said “You and Chanda Sosala don’t speak for me. The OP (office of the president) have told me that you went to say I had sent you,” Mr Mwamba said.

He said he explained to the president and vehemently denied that he had not uttered any words to that effect as allegedly reported by intelligence officers that where present during the duration of his visit. He said he had earlier requested that representation from the intelligence service be present for clarity over the purpose of his visit.

“My former commander in chief however, said ‘I don’t trust you. I trust the OP’, when I am a member of his Cabinet and minister of Defence for that matter. Well, what could I do, he is my boss,” Mr Mwamba said.

Mr Mwamba said he was told that Cabinet decisions were made collectively especially after Tourism Minster Sylvia Masebo brought up the issue of standoff between Government and the BTC during one of the meetings.

He however, said he would not be part and parcel of a collective decision that would affect his family. Politics to him were a temporal thing while family ties were permanent.

“So we continued talking with the president back and forth and he said well, it’s entirely up to you. Choose between Henry Kanyanta Sosala and your job.”

“So here I am now, I have chosen Kanyanta Sosala because he is my grandfather. It is for this reason I have decided to resign as Minister of Defence with immediate effect. I will still remain a member of Parliament for Kasama Central, but if the so wish that I should also step down as MP I will come back to you and consult you so you can advise me on what I should do.”

During his visit at Mr Sosala’s home, Mr Mwamba said he and Minister of Finance Alexander Chikwanda had declared interest on issue surrounding the appointment of Henry Sosala as Paramount Chief Chitimukulu of the Bemba speaking people because he was there relation.

Before resigning, Archbishop of Kasama Ignatius Chama was seen arriving at Mr Mwamba’s home where the duo discussed the events leading to the resignation. Insiders said the clergyman tried to dissuade Mr Mwamba from resigning to no avail.

Others seen at the residence apart from the scores of supporters that had been camped at the house since Mr Mwamba’s arrival on Saturday were Lubansenshi MP Patrick Mucheleka and Home Affairs deputy Minister Alfredah Nkasembe.

Mr Mucheleka said he was happy with Mr Mwamba’s decision saying he was no longer a lone voice. He also called on other MPs from the Northern region to follow suit by resigning from the various Government portfolios.

Ms Kansembe however, left the residence without saying anything to the Press. Mr Mwamba later in the afternoon asked his ministerial detail including his aide de camp to take their leave.

Meanwhile GBM has just released the statement below to the media explaining his resignation

Dear Friends,

I know you have waited for my position following the developments of yesterday and today. I wish to confirm that the uproar following my visit to the Chitimukulu Designate’s Residence Henry Sosala Kanyanta-Manga is most unfortunate. I have not commented on the stand-off between Government and the Bemba Royal Establishment because I declared interest in the matter, from inception. But this did not preclude me from visiting my family members, including the Chitimukulu Designate. As GBM, I refuse to allow political differences to separate me from who I am- a loyal member of the Bemba Royal Establishment and a free citizen of Zambia.

I was born a Mwamba and politics is something I joined along the way. I am and will always be a servant of the people. But each time I am called Mwamba, inside me something does not just acknowledge this as a historical truth about my identity; most importantly, it speaks to my whole being as a Mwamba who belongs to the Bemba Royal Establishment, Mwamba the Zambian, Mwamba the African and Mwamba, a Citizen of the World. This also means that before I am anything to anyone else, I have family obligations, such as meeting with family members, which I cannot disown under any given circumstances.

There comes a time in the life of a man when tough and principled decisions have to be made. This is that decision. I wish to confirm my resignation as Defense Minister from President Michael Sata’s Government with immediate effect. I thank him for the opportunity he gave me to serve the people of Zambia in this capacity.

God bless Zambia

  1. Aaahg, he has resigned. Leave GBM alone. Why is PF worried about GBM’s resignation? State house is shaken! Lol!

    • Wow, I salute GBM on this one. He is really a man. Pan.ga Family (PF) is fu.ck.en dead. Next up to resign is Alex Chikwanda and many more pro-GBM guys.

    • Atleast GBM has some principles and can stand-up to the Catel and Wynter…Zambia needs more GBMs. Congratulations Sir.

    • i was starting to believe that the brain surgery on Sata claus was kanshi naumfwa… some brains can never be operated on,,, more complications will be created…yaba!!!.

I can see 2013 is not going end well for someone… maybe we try TB joshua,, ng`angas from Tanzania have failed, awe shuwa,, i need a drink,, cry my beloved country!!!
Damn it!!! PF please!!! all this OP thing ,, using George Chella`s cell phone is behind information… also this radio drama kapeya is mispositioned,, damn it,,i need a drink!!!.

GBM is/was minister of defence for goodness sake… the`re should a procedure to handle his meeting with the chitimukulu if it was seen as illegal

    • Sata’s receives GBM’s resignation letter

Chief Government Spokesperson Mwansa Kapeya has confirmed that President Michael Sata has received the resignation of Defence Minister Geoffrey Mwamba.

Mr. Mwamba has attributed his resignation to the standoff between the government and the Bemba Traditional Council over the recognition of Henry Kanyanta Sosala as Paramount Chief Chitimukulu of the Bemba speaking people.

source..Qfm zambia,, who is telling the truth???

    • This gvt has messed with too many people… From lozi to north, east to south, nurses to former presidents to opposition, themselves and citizens.

    • It is a problem, because Mwansa Kapeya is 3rd supporter of GBM. Or it GBM who support Mwansa Kapeya?

Wish Sata had used Kapeya’s cell phone and not George Chella’s, what an insult.

    • @Nostradamus
iwe Nostra… you donot the Sata refuses to own a cell phone just like he refuses to drink mineral water,,, in protest of GBM`s riches at the expense millions of poor Zambians

    • OTHERS MAY WAT TO RESIGN BUT HOW ARE THEY GGOING TO SURVIVE? THAT’S THE DILEMMA. GBM HAS CASH NOWANDER THE POSITION HE HAS TAKEN. ITS REALLY A DIFFICULT DECISION. ONLY REAL LEADERS CAN CAN DO THAT BAKAMBA BAKAMBA

    • Well done GBM. The PF administration is the first ever circus of government Zambia has ever had, I think. First it was Deputy ministers either resigning or threatening to do so, and now a full Senior Minister. I think ubuloshi bwakwa Sata balibwishibisha Ba BRE – there’s something to Sata’s phobia for BALDHEADS… Other than his poor health, it’s one of the reasons why he couldn’t attend the Mandela funeral – there were so many bald headed dignitaries, so alitina ukusemuka Mudala!!!

    • POLITICAL LESSON NUMBER1 TO OUR LEADERS: This is a game of the financially independent, and not those joining it for survival. There are many that differ with Sata’s style of leadership but will just hang in there for their next meal – slaves of a sort !

    • I am supprised why my church has gone to the bed with PF. The bishop of Northen province! No wonder they have remained silent on issuess affecting the country.

    • Sad that GBM has decided to leave cabinet. I think it is wrong for my President to be heavily involved in succession issues of old royal establishments. However, I do not understand why government has taken that stance, especially the president.

I emphasise that it is difficult really to know why government does not want to recognise Sosala. may be they know better, especially with the OP….

Well, government continues running and you MMD and UPND guys, you will trumped again in 2016. This issue is gonna pass…. Mark my word, and know that GBM is still with us, wether you like it or yes you do!

    • @1.17 i guess it’s all about one side trying to correct a perceived wrong that has apparently been perpetrated while the other one refuses to bend on the basis of ultra superior and dominance. Mind u the Bemba succession line is dualistic

    • @1.18 Awesu you may be right. The only problem is that we do not know the real issues. Like you put it, “a perceived wrong”, that is all we know.

    • Chikwanda might be the next to resign according to ZWD. Listen to the link given to ZWD below.

      **********888

VIVA ZWD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. MULIBAKALI KA. Thats why Sata blocked you so that only him and his government officers can access your news in Zambia. Unfortunately Zambians are clever and even PF ministers are ZWD free lance journalists.

  2. I am sure the caller was under the influence of some drug when he was telling you off gbm. Now that he is no longer in a stupor he qucikly sneds this useless man to make such a pronouncement. Just wait for the regisnation letter to reach Plot 1 and then take a stance. It is still in Zampost somewhere……….

    • Didn’t this development begin with the confirmation that Kabimba will, in a few days, be the Acting Presido?

Oh, did I just hear somebody say, “boat”? What boat? Are some people still in there? Come’n get them out of there! The thing is sinking!!!

    • It’s difficult to take someone seriously by word of mouth until they put it on paper. At this stage, we are still not sure if he has resigned or not,”

The statement from kapeya above implies a lot in itself, one of them being that this cohort finds easy to lie as they cannot be taken serious on their word of month. Therefore, next time ask Kapeya to put his answers in writing before you print them. What a bufi family indeed.

      GBM you are the man.

  3. This can’t possibly the only reason GBM resigned, it’s infact a final nail in coffin. There has been frantic effort in recent past to frustrate him by the A-team which includes the cartel and KK. first KK publicly humiliated him for endorsing Sata as 2016 sole PF candidate even calling stupid minister.Second internal wrangles spilt onto the streets of Lusaka exploded in machete fights his and Kabimba’s supporters that resulted in his lieutenant badly hurt and hospitalised. Adding salt to injury no condemnation followed from Sata. Soon after at the regional defence ministers summit GBM was nowhere to be seen. Contrary to expectation Zambia sent Justice minister as its representative and no explanation given. Tension has constantly been simmering below the surface. This has been coming!

  4. Ba Kapeya, bushe you don’t believe sure! Perhaps you now eying now the Defense portfolio. Is your current position not enough coming from a Program Officer at ifya bu kaya?

  5. Hehehehe, the man is still in Kasama. The letter is on its way, probably given to his bus driver to take it to Lusaka. The letter will finally be delivered to State House tomorrow. GBM is the Man!!

  6. kapeya please attempt to be a bit intelligent! GBM out of the ordinary shown you the middle finger! enough of empty threats.

  7. while while, GBM has demonstrated that he is for sure a man of principles who respects and values where he come from, indeed blood is thicker than water. One wonders why the government has failed to sit down with bashilubemba and solve this issue once and all. Sata should surely learn to have a soft heart, what is it that Sosala has done to Sata kanshi? Sata learn to forgive and forget, above all learn to respect people’s decisions, in this case Bashilubemba have more power to appoint their Chitimukulu than you ba Sata.

  8. This Kapeya is daft, he is taking this issue too lightly while GBM is serious and not beating about the bush. Even Sata knows that GBM means business.
What Kapeya should do is to openly declare his interest to be given the defence ministry since he cherishes left-overs.

  9. prof chirwa is threatening to resign as CBU part time lecture if he is not given his passport by noon tomorow so he can board a plane to england and enjoy xmas with his family….he was seen around the home affairs HQ today wandering around.he says zambian will lose the an intellectual should his passport is not handed in…..in the past he has threatened to renounce his zambian citizenship….years ago he wanted to be president of zambia….with such an attitude like a child can he rule our country?

  10. The reason Mr Sata hates His Royal Highness Chitimukulu Kanyanta Sosala is this, and I will say it in Lozi because it is my vernacular: “Dr Kaseba na somisize kwateni ku Sosala, kona kuli lindwa za Sosala ni Sata ki za buhalizo. Sata u nyokozwi ki sitoyo sa lifufa. Kono cwale esi Sata yena kwatasi kwani ku mung’a siziba ki tuuuuu! Ku sampukile mane neba ku puka mubafu hakuna tuso. Cwale sitole sateni simwa lilulu la kababa, sa hwelisa kusiya. Next luta utwa kuli singe Kaseba si lengulisize ku Nevers Mumba ni HH, ha namunganga!

  11. Ba Kapeya, GBM has openly and without mincing his words stated that he’s resigned, whether verbally or in writing. I know it’s a bitter pill for you to swallow but stomach it and move on.

    Marc.

    • You must be an all round *****. Can’t you see that see that in PF there is the thickest collection of *****s, some of them serial killers with pangas and results which show clearly that they have unfinished business with the Ministry of John Phiri? Their results have the emergency number 9 repeatedly, except for Bemba where they scored 1?

  12. @Ngombala Muhapi wa Mafatsi
    Dr Kaseba na somisize kwateni…
    Why kwateni, why not kwaleveni?
Just joking with you as my traditional cousin!!

  13. Congratulations GBM…now we can conentrate on our bussines…where there is real money.Oh I forgot,GBM,are you coming to Dubai this week because I saw a new C.R

  14. Good move GBM. If Summer Kabimbi was principled like you, ……………………… the wrangles in PF couldn’t gone to such high levels.

  15. Its extremely painful to see what is going on in PF. This is a party that people had so much confidence in. Zambia 1 has failed to instil discipline in his members and worse he wants to fight wars that he can not win. Any one who wants a show down with the mighty Bashi Lubemba is definately headed for catastophic consequences! Bemba people are proud and intelligent people who will never allow anyone to insult them, not even Zambia 1! They can change in a blink of an eye and the good thing with bemba people is that they will support any one regardless of tribe as long as such a person preaches peace and prosperity!
Once more Zambia 1 should immediately retreat and allow bashilubemba to determine their destiny!
    Peace to Bemba land

  16. Kapeya is just too dull to be a Cabinet Minister but in PF he is highly regarded and considered as a genius. Does he really think GBM is bluffing?

  17. Sata is not well. As Head of State, the man does not behave as one. GBM is right to resign now before he sinks with him. He will be a fool to rescind his decision. Sata is used to threatening people then changing his mind later that he did not say or do that. He has continued to look innocent when we know he is behind the confusion in PF. PF is well advised to start reorganizing now instead of later. Sata certainly has no love for his party as well as Goverment. GBM you never know how many people are clapping for you. You did the right thing. You are on the side of history, believe me. Don’t bulk down. Don’t allow hungry people to persuade you to stay on because they want to continue to eat with Sata. Stay with your principles intact.

  18. Mwansa Kapeya should be the last PF politician to open his mouth. The most well informed Zambians know very well that Sata was trying to impose a Bisa ( aclan of Chibesakunda) on the Chitimukulu Throne – quite un-heard off in the history of Southern Africa – and Zambia in particular.

We are watching the unfolding scenario with a Prayer to God to redeem this Nation from evil Men.

MWANSA KAPEYA MUST SHUT-UP! He has no idea of the depth of the undercurrents flowing in Kasama and Chinsali.

    • Problems, when they come, follow each other. GBM’s resignation is timely and instructive. He has done well to protect family honour. On this one, boGBM has scored highly on my scorecard. Blood is thicker than water. The presido has ALWAYS been a person associated with violence and one-track-mindedness, as a village bully/rogue who is prepared to knock off any head that disagrees with him. This time round he has, in GBM, found someone man enough to say NO! That’s GBM, Chitumbuwa or Fat Albert! Then you have the rot that is going on in the First Lady’s office in as far as expenditure is concerned, and the distribution of condoms in ALL hospitals! What did the donors (condom makers) give her? She even supports abortion! Awe mwandi.

  19. No one in Sata’s government can claim to be happily serving him, unless they choose to lie. His cabinet is full of desperate job-seekers striped of dignity. They are humiliated, insulted, belittled and treated like little children in public in exchange for a vehicle, some free fuel and a pay no worth the indignity. These cannot make grade in decent government for their principle and integrity.GBM don’t rescind your decision, show this dictator that men of integrity and principle still exist out there Let him paddle this fast-sinking canoe on his own to appreciate the input of others. And hats off to people like Lucky Mulusa who have turned down a job under this dictator. please stay in MMD as the future of this country lies in hands as strong opposition worth the name.Don’t be…

  20. Ha ha ha ha!!! Chanda Kapayipi, this is not ifyabukaya wise up and come out of the shell of your group denial. Time to face the reality sir. They say that if you are in sh I t step in it.

  21. Mr. Kapeya, how far up your a.s.s do you have to stick your heard before you smell the stink coming from it? You refuse to accept his resignation because you have not received his written resignation? How stu.p.i.d is that? Is it up to you to refuse or accept the resignation?

    • Mwansa Kapeya is a man in denial in all his outlook. How can you take seriously a man who denies himself by using skin lightening creams, as if to say the Lord made a mistake. If you have a person who has such a low self-image , to the extent that he wants to (unsuccessfully) become a ‘Whiteman’, the rest of his thinking is obvious. He can be written off.

  22. So it goes atleast GBM has won some trust unlike some summer time…..just out there to suck whatever come across even they call themselves interlectuals. This indeed showing the reality of panga family and it’s real clan. Not so much to sing glory for when it comes to PF, they have been jokers and indeed failures.

    • Not sure why Sata thinks he can continue leading this Country while at loggerheads with ba Mwine Lubemba… Mwemfumu shesu, ala mukandeni uyu Mwachusa.

Sata ninkulungwe alya mwaka umo. Ala napena. What a waste of my valuable vote in 2011.

  23. George Chella – You see with your big mouth. Ati hold on for the president.

Now your boss thought he would threaten GBM but he has ended up with severe diarrhoea, loosing his trusted Lieutenant

    • GBM has just opened the dance floor for “pelete”. Those of you in PF who are able to dance to the tune, please join him, the floor is open.

  24. History repeating itself.I foresee another Penza/Tembo case.GBM must beef up his security.Sata relies too much on the O.P’s.His days are numbered.Zambians were wrong.Do you remember my words in 2011 before the elections?GOD BLESS ZAMBIA.

  25. Good for you GBM. You take your money and stick it to them! This is a lesson in why it is important to have money and funding sources independent of Government contracts and relationships. He has nothing to lose as he has been one of PF’s biggest bank rollers. The only down side to the situation is that the risk of PF using state funds to bankroll their activities increases exponentially…..

  26. Just after the death of Mandela who showed us what real principle was GBM has just won my heart with this move. Lest I get misunderstood I ‘m not comparing GBM to Mandela because as it is GBM is not even fit to tie Mandela’s shoes but what he has demonstrated is that when you believe in something, live by it. When a government is trying to mix politics with family declare your interest but this should not preclude you from visiting your family as a free citizen of Zambia. Even for me if someone told me I cannot even talk to my grandfather because the ruling government does not recognize him I would tell them to shove it down my a***. I know it is a bitter pill for PF to swallow but the last I checked Zambia had over 12 million able bodied men and women so ready to serve.

  27. Mayo !U may end up defending what cannot be defended.Tata ba Sata we have supported u alot. Alas!what do u do?U undress in public Ulubemba.Awe naya naine!

  28. On the bench we are all waiting for appointments,at least he has tested the post now it is my turn to take over watch the move. That is the position I have always wanted, bakateka please I can now start off for Zambia. I like politics, they are like on a dancing floor show your dance and give others chance to do the same ..fumamo naifwe tu fwenkulemo.

  29. I remember asking about what GBM and Chikwanda are doing about the issue between Sata and bashilubemba a few months ago. I have been waiting to see somebody react in the sensible manner. Now Chikwanda should counsel that retard in state house at least him he listens to him. It is good that GBM has stood his ground, I’m sure many minsters would like to follow suit but they cannot survive and lack of principle many are ready to be scorned at every now and then by the silly man at state house. Ba Sata bamena amaka nomba after twababika pachambaso! Kwena eeh baletola nobwapona.

    • I heard on one ZNBC main news the president telling one of his officials that KWATI CIPUBA unless am i don’t understand English it means a MORON, means psychological problem, disused term for a person with a mental age between 8 and 12, and a common insult for a person considered stupid (or just a generic insult)
Ba GBM bakana because soon he may be called such names.
Mr President my advice is when you realize you are getting emotion over a matter don’t talk keep quiet when you calm down you can then talk. The nation of 15,000,000 looks up to you for leadership.
Proverbs 10 Vs 19 In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise. Ecclessiates 7 Vs 21 Also take no heed unto all words that are spoken; lest thou hear thy servant curse thee:

  30. Such are the tough and brave decisions we adore from real men. Everyone must know that Sata has come to destroy democracy and chiefdoms but his decisions shall never work. Tuli bena Lubemba, this is just the starting point. Sata must must know that he was just elected into that position and he is not a God therefore, he should not temper with people’ s minds.

  31. Mr president, do you have a personal problem with the Chitimukulu Designate? If so should you allow this to over ride institutional governance? Since when, Mr. President, did you become an expert on issues of Bemba succession? Is it really necessary Mr. President to antagonize the Bemba Roya Establishment? If Bemba people have to take a stance on this issue, are you sure you will handle the consequences to your government and the nation at large. Without you coming out clearly to justify your stand we Bembas will remain skeptical of you stand and take your approach as being too high handed and unnecessarily so. GBM (and kudos to him) is only one person, many Zambians feel extremely hurt by your action

  32. Mr. Kapeya, has anybody ever attempted to explain to you the meaning of the FUNDAMENTAL FREEDOMS as clearly stated in the Constitution of Zambia? By the way, if you remember, Constitution is the one thing you did swear to protect. No your friends, no your political associates but Constitution.
What I find amazing is that in a 21st Century there are still pseudo-political dinosaurs (like you) involved in politics and think that failed slogans of the past are still relevant.
You, and people like you MUST accept that GBM has exercised his FUNDAMENTAL RIGHT and that it is.

  33. Mwamba Muluba umwina Ngandu, umwishikulu wakwa Sosala mwana Chiti muluba uwakwa chitapankwa umwina lubemba. ne ngwena shilatota ati shamfumu alepita. bashimweshimwe bakabila umwewo obe nomba balaluba pantu ulimwina muluba.

  34. kaya kwamene tiyenda , the PF…what a party.had so much popularity when coming into office but internal wranlges have taken a toll on the party and there leader seems so arrogant

  35. Again I say..Mwansa Kapeya, are you okay in the head? You seem to always shoot from the hip – un-thought through statements that simply make no sense. He has resigned and his letter is coming. The president called him using Chella’s phone and put him on speaker. The president asked him to choose between him (Sata) and Chitimukulu designate. Did the president write any of this down? Did the president give him an opportunity to respond via letter? Hell no! He wanted a response right there. So you Mr Chief Government spokesperson somehow thinks GBM has not resigned because there is no letter? Maybe we forgive you as you may not have attended yesterdays cabinet meeting? Why is Sata who promised to take care of Zambians putting them in mortal danger? GOD HELP US! SAVE US FROM PATHETIC FOOLS!

  36. Imwe SATA did not want Sosala as Paramount Chief because he is a relative to GBM (who we know has Presidential aspirations and not a favourite of Sata). If Sosala is recognized as Chitimukulu the entire Northern Zambia will be behind GBM and this the President cannot accept. This is the main reason if you did not see it.
    Elo yawama nomba…Watch this space!

  37. I THINK SATA NADONKWA. ALEMONA ATI KUTI ACHITA INTIMIDATE EVERYONE. ABAPEZA BAMUNA. NOT TU KABIMBA, INSALA YALICHILAMO NE ULE LYAKWE NAMA KWENKWE MASEBO!

  38. This is interesting, only if we can have such people in the society who do not accept to be used by others but take their own stand, Zambia can be liberated. Who is next?

  39. Bravo Mwamba..Sata is NOT fit in any way to lead a Nation like Zambia..May be north korea..PF forget about northen province… Bembas dont take shi$$t..

  40. Ba Kapeya seems to use jaribu in his old age to lighten up his skin. Why those browny patches all over his face. Utukulu tumo nato tesana. Kwati tuli ku Congo DR.

  41. My advice to appointed and elected politicians:

    Part 1
    1. Consult widely before resigning. Consult family, close compatriots and friends and key representatives of your constituency if need be.

    2. Look at all legal consequences and possible impact of your resignation

    3. Draft a clear candid and well thought resignation letter after reviewing your terms of engagement.

4.You are not obliged to give reasons for your resignation…you may politely say ‘to pursue other interests or to have a private life for family..etc.

5.Address your resignation to your appointing authority. Do not copy any other parties, not least the press.

6.Do not resign at a press conference. You may hold a press conference only after you have submitted your resignation letter whose receipt you must…

    • Good procedure that can be engaged by people without money like mummembebembe. The situation is bad and such revolts are expected. Hail the revolutionary GBM!

  42. Mwansa Kapeya you are saying you don”t recognise it but The Past (PF paper) have screamed what Sata has said on the resignation. This Govt. is disjointed thats why Mumba’s press conference was spot on.

Lelo, Lelo panga Family in troubled waters.

  43. Sata to have a soft heart, forget…amidst critical shortage of Nurses,he fires more than 700 countrywide.Amidst the countless number of deputy ministers,he fires 2 and amidst a number of economic woes e.g. rise in prices and late delivery of FISP still harbour a grudge against Sosala..where does Gvt come in?Someone has keen intrest in the throne..GBM is number one,the Post is last chronologically to leave him but eventually they will.watch the speed

  44. IT DOES NOT MAKE SENSE FOR PF TO BE SPOKING ITS NOSE IN THE AFFAIRS TRADITIONAL POLITICS. LEAVE THE BEMBA TO CHOOSE THEIR CHIEF.

SHAME ON YOU PF. LEAVE THE BLE ALONE. NO VOTE FOR PF IN 2016 FROM BEMBA LAND.

  45. GBM should be careful now. He may have money but messing up with the Government of the day is risky! They can finish him off. Let him just maintain a quiet life and not talking unnecessarily.

    • And you think the Bemba Kingdom will watch GBM go down? Sata is the one that must trade carefully- he is walking on thin ice and he has just gained a kilo!

  46. Sata tali serious. People must wake up to this dictorship. There will never be a free and fair election in Zambia until Sata dies.

  47. @kapuli. …..this is great and timely advice. Potential resignees must strictly adhere to the procedure you have highlighted.

If I were GBM I would have asked to meet the appointing authority and indicate my will to resign before even penning my resignation letter and addressing a press conference in a standing position.

At the level of Defence Minister and being of royal parentage GBM should have exercised decorum.

    • True..GBM should not have disclosed all those things….it is always best yo lie low…it dhiws maturity…look at Given Lubinda and myself!

  48. And in this exchange, with the current facts we have gathered, who appears more presidential, GBM or Sata? Now am not saying GBM should be president but evidently Sata should not.

  49. why LT has so many LOZI chaps writing in their primitive language??? is it mmembe who has sent them? get out of this site if u cant comment in either english, bemba or nyanja ATASE BULOZI UKOKWINE

  50. GBM had it coming and should not use the Bashilubemba standoff with Sata as an excuse. As a new comer he shouldn’t have started a fight with Kabimba and group who are the founder members of PF because of his money. This eventually led to his isolation by the president and further his sponsored Chikwelete uprising crumbled to his misery. Zambia is not short of men and women to replace a corrupt and self confessed wife beater like GBM. Even as he is leaking his wounds there are clean & capable Zambians waiting to stand on the Kasama seat and still win against him. Zambia is bigger than individuals and he should be thankful that he was given a ministerial position against better educated Zambians. The Bashilubemba issue is for dialogue and I trust it will soon be resolved with or without GBM

    • @Ba Joel.

I like how you want to comfort yourself.

New comer or not, the one who is dented most from this whole saga is SATA. This issue has brought SATA’s intrinsic dictatorial make-up. Only a leader who is wired up as a dictator can even conceive or think of giving a senior member of his cabinet an ultimatum to choose between family and allegiance to the leader. That’s madness.

In addition. This saga has also exposed SATA’s obstinacy. Even when he knows he has blundered over the Bashilubemba issue. He wants to cling on to his erroneous stand coz he thinks he will be ridiculed. Such obstinacy will only bring ruin to his PF.

And ba @Joel, you should remember that GBM has cited his visit to Mwine lubemba as the reason for resignation. So expect the entire BTC to be behind…

  51. Shocking though it sounds, it was a long time coming. With conflict and hostility clearly there between GBM and Kabimba, something had to give. The stand-off between the President and the Chitimukulu designate is just an excuse, or should I say opportune moment, to bail out for GBM. If you ask me, it is good riddance. Despite his undoubted affluence, GBM does not give value to the government. His ascendance to government has been through his connections and money. He has tried MMD and then moved to PF. He is an opportunist who thinks he can buy his way to the Presidency. I don’t see Mr Chikwanda lowering himself to the GMB level.

    • And a renowned lawyer who cant win a single case or even an electoral vote in his village brought what? There is nothing that WK brought and I am not even bemba but I know all the parties personally. I hope Chikwanda also, once again, gathers up some courage to leave. Yes, Chikwanda wanted to leave so dont comfort yourself.
Btw every one in PF knows how arrogant WK is and they hate him. It is a known fact that when he was given that ministerial position one of Sata’s close associate asked to be transferred. GBM may be a late comer but he is more tolerable to people than WK. Let WK stand in Lusaka.

  52. Pretty soon we shall hear from HH that GBM will be UPND’s candidate for any eventual by-election for the Kasama Central seat! Such are HH’s antics.

  53. @2201, Kalanga Street,
U must be one of the least morons wherever u hail from. Are u not ashamed of yourself to expose your folly by mentioning HH’ s name which is very far away from the topic at hand. It’ s not wrong to suggest that your head is an empty skull. u are a wasted sperm.

  54. And as Kapeya lies through his teeth, his boss has transferred Edgar Lungu to Ministry of Defence. So if its not been taken seriously, who is the clown in this case?

  55. We have seen consistency in lying or denials by this former fyabukaya personality so next time he opens his mouth we should all assume the opposite. You see why education is important. A press statement is prepared for him and he cannot use his own brain to objectively verify the contents but just goes to read like a parrot. Now that the truth has emerged who looks like a fool? Surely the state must have its intelligence network that should have known GBM had surely resigned but what was the use of denying it? Yes the blogger who said the last time he checked denial was a river in North Africa was right! Sekani is on a ventilator but the same man was busy crying like a river denying what ZWD was reporting until the man died sibili.
