The Patriotic Front (PF) leadership in the Northern Province have maintained their stance that Kasama Central Member of parliament Geoffrey Mwamba should resign from the constituency.

PF Provincial secretary Evarist Chella accused Mr. Mwamba of bringing the name of the President into disrepute through his utterances when he resigned as Defence Minister this week on Monday.

Mr. Chella was speaking when two members of the Central committee Jean Kapata and Miles Sampa held a meeting with party officials in Kasama today.

Mr. Chella said the PF in the province will not tolerate party members disregarding laid down procedures in airing their grievances.

And PF Member of the Central Committee in-charge of Commerce Miles Sampa called on the party members in Northern Province to remain united.

Mr. Sampa, who was in the company of Central Committee Party Chairperson for Community Development, Mother and Child Health Jean Kapata, said unity is key in strengthening the ruling party structures.

He has since urged the party officials to respect to the party’s top leadership at all times.

And on calls by Mr. Chellah that Mr. Mwamba be expelled on allegations that his loyalty to the party is questionable, Ms Kapata said that the party will follow the normal procedure of handling the issue.

Ms Kapata has since urged PF members in the province to put all their grievances concerning erring party members in the province in writing so that the disciplinary committee could take the necessary action.

She has since called for total discipline from all party members and urged them to respect the organs of the party.

Earlier, Patriotic Front (PF) Member of the Central Committee (MCC) Miles Sampa said that former Defence Minister Geoffrey Mwamba is still a member of the ruling party.

Mr Sampa who is also Commerce Deputy Minister said Mr. Mwamba exercised his political will by resigning from his ministerial position but that he remains a member of the party.

He said Mr. Mwamba has the right to decide on whether to remain in the party or resign adding that every member of the party has the right to do so.

Mr Sampa said this at Kasama airport today when he addressed hundreds of PF party members who welcomed him on his one-day visit to Kasama.

Mr Sampa who was accompanied by PF Member of the Central Committee in Charge of Community Development Jean Kapata was welcomed at the airport by Northern Province PF secretary Everest Chellah and other senior party members.

And Mr. Sampa has dispelled assertions that the party is divided following the resignation of Mr. Mwamba from government saying the PF is still strong and vibrant.

He said the PF is still intact starting from its grassroots across the country adding that the party is looking forward to another victorious election in 2016.

    • why should jean kapata and Miles Sampa following GBM to kasama?,, what was the purpose of their trip?,, Sata has already replaced GBM? Want more do they stil want??
GBM is visiting his grandfather,,, no offence committed

      why is PF so shaken?

    • Cheek allah GBM has done good to resign. He has shown how principled he is but he should reduce on the talking in the media.I even wonder last time he saw his ubwamba with such a belly.

    • let the 1diots continue fighting each other. when they get tired, there will be no more energy left to fight the opposition, then it will be a walkover

    • PF wrangles and GBM saga are the best Chistmass present that UPND has ever got during the festive season.

More confusion in PF please! I am enjoying every moment of it. Let them continue ripping each other apart until no one is left.
Those remaining in PF have’nt noticed that Sata wants his son to take over. When that time comes he will just elininate Kabimba, Nchito and Mmembe to pave way for his son. GBM has saved his life by distancing him self from Sata ‘s reach.
The money that Sampa has dished out will run out very soon and people will want more and if they don’t get it, then Wapya munzi nafuti. Bribing people does not yield lasting solutions,it simply opens up more blackmail opportunities .Gone are the days when you would bribe people and control them for longer.
      Bantu…

    • Am reading very poorly written articles on LT these days. Is a good English grade still a prerequisite for journalism in Zambia? How many times has MR. SAMPA been mentioned in this article and why do politicians have to be addressed as MR, MISS etc?

    • Wanu Ngwee I have also sen how the quality is poor what is happening kansi mwe bantu. can we do anything properly

    • IWE @SHOOTIST U HAVE craked my ribs!!!!! throw another one. I think he sees it pakusunda yah but iliko tricky futi maybe he uses ka mirror

  1. Yes GBM(Great bag of maize) must go.I just hate how he is shaming the president in the media.A man of his status and stature must know when and where to open his mouth.I respect his decision to resign from cabinet but that doesn’t mean he should continue disrespecting the president in the media. He is bringing the party into disrepute.

    • Zambiano, f.cuk your ka president waumfwa boyi? It’s not even funny anymore, I bet that’s why your ka mentor has even stopped showing up to comment coz he has also seen how hopeless your i.diotic president is. Ubunga K100 pin kwati we are at war?? Ifyabupuba uko kwine ba swine! Firing nurses and people are dying and then you stand up pa christmas to talk about compassion and forgiveness?? Even the maggots that occupy sata’s brain were shocked and some of the moved out coz they couldnt handle ubufi! And then you want our children to suffer from inkongole, will you mother..fcukers ever do anything right ba chimbwi imwe? Ka zambiano am talking to you, ninshi uku ipaila you blockhead??

    • Iwe Zambiano, this party has brought both ITSELF and the COUNTRY into disrepute just from the way it conducts it’s business – no official spokesperson, anyone can say anything to anyone about anything anywhere any time in any way! A schizophrenic president whose utterances are always toxic, provocative, divisive and always have to be explained and justified. A party in which you can’t independently apply your mind and contribute to the best of your abilities – it must just be done the Sata way!

    • Mwebena Zambia inkonko……GBM can never be called a principled man by resigning no.He could have qualified as such if at all he there and then stood up in that cabinet meeting where the collective agreement was being finalised, not after all the deliberations which of course symbolised that he himself also agreed to the conclusions of the day. By going out after sometime only shows us the type of a coward with hidden agendas GBM is. Secondly,Sosala has been an MMD cadre for quite sometime now who used not even respect or welcome the opposition at that time only paid homage to MMD and it’s leadership like RB. Sata was not welcome and the so called grandson GBM used to move with the president, saw what was going on. If for sure this big sack was principled that was the time to part…

  2. He has the right to resign yes, but not the right to hold a press conference in the village & bark @ the presido. If this GBM, the rare breed kangaroo douchebag jerk with Kilimanjaro Mountain on his barel-shaped belly like a 24 months pregnant hippo and stumpy legs is really principled, why did he not resign when being investigated for corruption instead abandoned his official vehicle?????

    • You are very dull.
You said that GBM has the right to resign but not to Shane the president, but then you on to shame and insult GBM. What can we learn from you?
You are giving advise you yourself can’t follow. You think GBM must respect his leader but you you don’t respect GBM your civic leader.
      Shame on you

    • @CS ….Callin me dull & you lecture me on insults.Motherfacka you desersve to be fornicated by a 3 foot piece barbed wire.I blame your parents for using expired contraceptives otherwise you are a wasted sperm. What can you learn from me?Well I would rather teach a Chimpanzee how to screw yo mum from the butt than teachin you the unknown.DON’T EVER TRY ME @ HOME,SCHOOL OR ANYWHERE…####

    • Haleisa sweety, you promised you’d be gone only a week coz this time you only had to bang Sata up the a.ss one round not your usual 3 because remember you said his ka wrinkled butt gives you the hardest hard-on ever and that i shouldn’t be jealous coz my butt was almost as wrinkled as Sata’s. Well baby I examined my butt and I think you were lying! In fact, I heard you were screwing Chikwanda and giving him head mu toilet ku shoprite! At this rate am not sure we are going to last. Plus Munkombwe called and said he is waiting for what you promised, I can only imagine what that is!

    • iwe nokh ichinenahh ukulamba, taumfwa insoni ayi?you want to come out funny but unfortunately your jokes can not come out.they are horrible dry jokes.if it were me
i can give up in shame now it shows you are not normal.you and madiba funeral interpreter
are made of the same cloth.

  3. Hypocrites! Because it’s GBM, they have spoken. The Wynter saga raged on for months. Even a life was lost and no ‘big head’ or ugly face boarded a plane to meet provincial officials. GBM has the support of Kasama Central. If you want to suffer embarrassment greater than the 9-1 you suffered in Mkaika, expel him and see!

  4. Imwe chi Geoffrey is not even rich he not on Forbes 100 rich list let him stay ku Kasama mambala. Imwe me personally I never liked Geoffrey i don’t trust fat people.

    • remember how much rupiah banda made noise about him owing FRA,remember how so quick he paid that amount?and sending a junior accountant for that matter.thats what you call a rich man.he has money to make your father yawn for the rest of his life at his disposal
      he is a rich guy.

  5. Was that all Miles Sampa and Kapata had to say after flying all the way from Lusaka?
The PF leadership has been thrown into total panic and confusing following GBM’s actions.
They are playing in his hands as he calls the shots and taking full advantage of their panic by taunting them with all manner of statements such as, ”I used a lot of my money to ensure PF and Sata won the elections and I am ready for anyone in a political battle and I have a lot of support at home and in the diaspora”.

    • Nice one! And out of TOTAL SHOCK, SataNa has remained numb – can even utter a word otherwise Mwamba will spill the beans!
GBM has a temper which even scares SataN – kuti atampa ukulanda fya money laundering ya ku South Africa where SataN was caught with a bag of money anso USDollars like Liato!

    • @The london eye
Really? are those the best cadres PF for the kasama event?.. Matero church terrorist Miles and musali wa mwa lififi Jean kapata

    • @ndobo,
‘Matero church terrorist”, that tickled me into laughter ni musali wa mwa lififi.
What a shame that a ruling party should go into the new year in disunity. We are about to witness the climax of it all.

    • @cindy
This whole thing has been mismanaged,, the president must have summoned GBM back to Lusaka and warned in lusaka if he was unhappy with him,, instead of blasting him on George Chellah..

The sending of Miles Sampa and Jean Kapata to Kasama is NOT a good move on the part of PF… They should leave GBM alone,, he is visiting his mbuya the chitimukulu…ala!!

    • @ Ndobo,
That means someone is not sitting comfortably somewhere! Under pressure is actually the right description, we havent seen it all yet, wait for next year or is it next week?! Aha… more scripts coming our way!

    • By the way, does anyone have any idea what our beloved President has to say about this saga? Would love to hear him say something even if it’s through Chellah!

  6. Jean Kapata behaves like those UNIP Women’s League members in tbe past. She was vocal saying Wynter should be expelled not long ago and apparently in GBM’s camp. That never happened. Now sbe is having a go at GBM I assume to pacify and get back to Wynter. The UNIP women’s League members were clueless and so is Jean.

    • This is the highest level of primitivity exhibited publicly by PF official. What is wrong with somebody resigning from his position out of principle? Minister do it in developed countries with attracting such nonsense from fellow ministers. Any poverty is the root course because very few people can resign from such positions on principle.

  7. They went to offer soliderity. Something nice is cooking. Sata will remain with membe and winter ; THE A TEAM

  8. I have said it before and I will say it again, that GBM in the next few days, weeks or month will either make it big or be thrown in the dustbin of politics. He should be very careful how he handles himself. He certainly is the man of the moment by the one single act he made by resigning from the unpopular PF government. His timing was impeccable. But that is all. For him to start thinking of forming a party or being president of Zambia is a bit far fetched. He is not presidential material. Let him get this in his head and I am trying to drum it in him. His friend Sata has messed it up for all uneducated people like GBM. Putting Sata in state house has been a huge cost which the country is not ready to repeat in a hurry. Let GBM concentrate on his businesses.

  9. Just a philosophical note….How do you as an Opposition Political Party start the New Year with a Public Protest?

…If I were UPND President I would start with a review of the year 2013 and take time to plan for the new year.

Opposition leaders please read my research paper on the role and position of Political Parties not-in-government: the case of opposition political parties in Zambia.

  10. My concern is whether the two Ministers used our money or PF money to pay for the outing to Kasama. That I do not like and would support future investigations to make culprits to pay back or go to prison just as Mr George Mpombo has been sentenced.

We must open our eyes as Zambians and use the “Abuse of office” Clause that the MMD had removed but the PF government put back. Remember that government money is taxpayers’ money. The Audit0r-Generals’ Reports will be used in future to recover all moneys from so-called “clever” people, If you think it cannot happen ask the boers who lost land they grabbed thinking the black people would never wake up.. If you will be dead, the money will be recovered from the assets you will leave behind in trust or with your relatives. This is a…

    • @ let me say this, of course these guys used our money. P.F. as a party are broke and in fact still owe GBM a lot for the money he pumped in. The dullness of the PF government is beyond measure that is why they feel the treasury is their own personal cookie jar. The scary part is they see nothing wrong with his, especially that Sata thing, that is why he even had the audacity to send a helicopter to go pick up some chief when he held one of those hopeless meetings he holds with chiefs. We are in shipikisha club till 2016. PF will never ever improve as long as that lizard Sata is at the helm and people like bene Nsanda are chairmen of institutions as strategic as RDA. Can you even begin to fathom how ridiculous this govt is?

  11. Mealie-meal at K100, confusion with the chiefs, failure to go to Madiba’s funeral, K1.5 billion to Kaseba’s office, Judge Chikopa wasting our money, Trade deficit of K327 million for the first time since 2009, US$38 million loan for fighting climate change (to benefit 800 thousand households) US$40 million loan for fertilizer, IMF already warning us that we are heading for a debt trap, intra party violence that has led to death, Sata saying we don’t need a new constitution, countless Bye elections, salary increment 3 times in two years, sneaking out of the country for medical treatment, no press conference in 2 years, resignation of Defence Minister, sending of hundreds of police to an area where there is no emergency.
If the above happened under MMD, what would mmembe have said?

    • Garbage In Garbage Out! People voted for Ukwa and it’s Ukwa they got. Why is it that all of a sudden people are crying foul?

  12. Basalie Ba Mwalifiefie and Miles hv been sent to Kasama to access the situation. They on what’s called a fact finding mission to that they come with the detailed situ report meant for the Man with rotten teeth whose never visited a dentist all his life yet he has money

  13. Sata never played his cards well. When he called GBM o blast him Sata underrated GBMs temper.
GBM is arrogant but he is at least sincere in either way (good or bad).

One must get to the core of the Problem. This is about the power struggle between Wynter sind Geoffrey. One thing is crystal clear Sata is on Wynters side.

Sata is being blackmailed by both. He should have longtime fired them but hes no longer the Sata- the man of action. Very sad.

The PF govt is clueless. The Central Committee has Chairmen for whats going ob. But why send Sampa and Kapata?

  14. From today onwards I will take Zambian watchdog seriously!! They told us specifically that Miles Sampa would fly to Kasama!!! Exactly thats what happened!!

  15. LT, why have you allowed ROTten brain chaps from ZWD infiltrate your site with insults from their dirty mouths. These cow chaps thinks winning an election is about insulting ubuteko on internet.

    • Albert, Haleisa Halenya in my opinion has a gold medal in insults and he is a PF cadre like you, so what are you talking about?

  16. Iwe ka haleisa hanya, don’t bring your watchbwa mentality on this blog.should you continue with your to a useless insults then I flood your ka pc with real insele, try me.

  17. My only problem is trying to find the strength and will power to tune off and turn away from all the political trash happening in Zambia. I know its all trash but somehow I can’t keep away, wasting valuable time. No matter how we write things don’t seem to improve. Could all this ‘addiction’ be motivated by the love for my country? Anyone else feels the same? How can we ensure that our feelings we express here have an impact and contribute positively to the governance of this country?

  18. Hon GBM has massive support in Northern province therefore all these dimwits waffling rubbish are just afraid of their own shadows and besides they know that Kambwili very soon is following suit.

  19. Ubupuba bwafula mu PF; these chaps should leave GBM alone. Sampa is right, GBM has the right to resign and maintain his well deserved position as MP. He was not appointed to that ticket, he earned it.

Ba mungulu-oriented PF supporters, don’t think you chaps are more PF than the rest by adopting the bupuba-mentality of getting rid of those that seem to be working hard, even your own limbs! If anything you need to kneel down in prayers thanking God for letting absolute nonentities like you to have had the favors of the likes of GBM and Lubinda.

Sata (already in my Out Tray), doesn’t have the intentions of standing … and believe you me, he’s got nothing to lose in 2016. You are the ones to cry!
… watch the space, Kambwili is the next target!

  20. All these dull guys using Radio Mano do not understand why I birthed the station. For more information why it was created let them call me on 0974552305. I never birthed the idea for political mileage. Let the registrar of society and the funders revisit the noble cause under which this station was formed. I am ready to challenge them because I have a lot to tell them

  21. Have u seen that the Sata endorsing was not genuine?GBM is unprincipled and a political u5 who must only concertrate on his businesses.Challa in kasama just let him alone. His persived popularity z not going anywhere.Soon he’ll b in ptical oblivion

  22. @WANZELU,

I AM CURRENTLY IN THE SWAMPS OF TONGA LAND CAMPAIGNING FOR MY PARTY. FROM HERE I WILL PROCEED TO BAROTSE LAND, ENDING UP IN MBEBA LAND.

COULD YOU GIVE ME TWO REASONS WHY I SHOULD ASK LUAPULA TO VOTE WITH ME FOR HH?

    MINE ARE FAIRLY SIMPLE:

    A. I WAS WITH HH UNTIL HE BEGAN TO PATRONIZING RB. PLEASE NOTE KK WAS IN POWER FOR MORE THAN 2 DECADES. NONE OF HIS KIDS, DOCTORS AND PROFESSIONAL SOLDIERS, EVER CHARTERED A PLANES. RB’S KIDS WERE NEVER IN GAINFUL EMPLOYMENT UNTIL THEIR DAD BECAME OVERSEER OF OUR NATIONAL RESOURCES.

    B. INSULTS FROM HH’S CADRES.

  23. Ubushiku insofu ifwile ,awe nelyashi ni pa nsofu…….In the past we heard of an MP in the same constituency resigning and throwing all sorts of misles at his party.I don’t even know where this gentleman is,what is wrong with that constituency bane? Kondi niyamaloza ? So many frustrated people have formed tuntemba parties.

  24. Referring to GBM as principled is being foolish. Why didn’t resign when he was being investigated for corruption. His resignation was more emotional and than principle.

  25. My brother GBM, don’t talk much. This time just observe the turn of events by responding to any call by people you will end up losing your step which I have already seen you have.

  26. Umutonga thinks by insulting the President daily, it will result in more popularity to their candidate. The opposite is true comrades. If given the instruments of power, you will insult the rest of the country.
