Warriors pause on Mondo appointment

Share

Wesley Mondo’s appointment as Kabwe Warriors coach has been put on hold.

This is after the club sponsors Zambia Railways requested that all ten candidates be interviewed.

Warriors settled on Mondo from a short list that included two other ex-Warriors coaches Levy ‘Chabby’ Chabala and Peter Mwila.

“Our sponsors say we need to interview all the shortlisted coaches, so the interviews are on Monday,” club deputy chairman Hayden Dingwall said.

“We had advertised and ten applied for the job and four we shortlisted and we settled for Mondo.”

Warriors have been without a head coach since August following the dismissal of Dick Ngwenya.

Happy Sichikolo was put in temporal charge before he in turn was sidelined in October and replaced by Chintu Kampamba.

Warriors finished 10th in their first season back in the 2013 Faz Super Division season after spending the 2012 campaign in Division One.

    • Why not let Kampamba coach? He is far much better than Mondo. Remember Mondo once coached Warriors, failed and sacked. Why eat your vomits?
