Patriotic Front (PF) Northern provincial secretary Everest Chela has said that he has information that Former Defence Minister Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba (GBM) is no longer Kasama Member of parliament.

Speaking in reaction to GBM’s attempt to have him from the party, Mr Chela the former Defence Minister accused of sowing seeds of discord and de-campaigning civic leaders in Kasama adding that his future was bright in the party and it is Mr Mwamba whose stay in the PF would be short lived.

” In fact I want to take this opportunity to tell the people of Kasama Central that they do not have an area member of parliament according to the information I have,” Mr Chela said.

According to a meeting which Mr Mwamba held in Bululu Ward were PF Northern provincial secretary Everest Chela is a councillor, Mr Mwmaba asked Bululu residents to look for a new candidate because he would ask the PF Kasama District officials to recommend Mr Chela’s expulsion from the party. He said at meeting he held in the ward that Mr Chela had failed to spearhead tangible development.

Mr Chela however, responded that it was not his job to bring development like roads when Mr Mwamba as Kasama Central member of Parliament who had larger influence and finances than him had failed to help the people of Bululu Ward.

Meanwhile, the provincial Patriotic Front (PF) leadership have decided to suspend GBM with immediate effect from all party activities until a petition against him has been heard.

In a letter addressed to him and signed by the party’s provincial secretary Everest Chela and provincial chairman Chomba Chipili, Mr Mwamba has been asked to answer charges of desperately trying to destroy the party and in the other case for de-campaigning party councillors.

“Therefore we have had no option but to suspend you from the party and from performing all other party activities unless and until your petition is determined by the national disciplinary committee and eventually the central committee,” reads part of the letter.

The letter, copied to President Sata, the party secretary general, the Kasama Central Constituency and the Kasama district executive committee further states: “While serving your suspension you should not interact with party officials or members of the party.”

  1. Ha ha lack of education in PF govt.Full of kaponyas indeed.kwena ubu bupuba mu party.teti ivote party yama fotini again.shatalamonapo ubupuba ngobu.

    • I’m actually one of the most disappointed PF sympathizers, Iv never seen disorder like this in the history of Zambian politics. When this thing was about to happen in MMD under RB, he acted swiftly and disciplined people like then Hon Shakafusya who thot they were untouchable! Where is the VIPER in all this MESS???????

    • @KapsD, well said mate. RB hate him or love him, the man was able to show leadership when there was disunity in the party by quickly stepping in and disciplining rebel members of the party who were causing trouble. Look at our “man of action” (more like man of inaction nowadays) he is locked up in the comforts of State House and can’t even say anything about cadres who are busy beating and threatening each other on national TV. Can someone pull him from under the bed so that he begins sorting out the mess in the party and government so that they can finally concentrate on what the people voted them in for?

    • Iwe kapsd stop reminding us of that corrupt Rupiah Banda. Lets just celebrate the implosion of PF. At least we now know these arrogant noisemakers are about to lose power

    • Nobody has asked you who you will vote for and no one is interested to know. Leave the PF alone n concentrate on your illede association. We know your mission.

  2. This is the worst thing you guys have done. I think politics should be done or rather run this way. If we continue moving this way, believe me, we shall continue receiving insults and discredits from the general populace. M sad.

    • IF WHAT I READ IN THE POST NEWSPAPER YESTERDAY REGARDING GBM FAMILY AND ZNS CONTRACTS IS TRUE THEN IT IS VERY DISAPPOINTING FOR GBM. HOW CAN PEOPLE BE SO SELFISH GETTING ALL THE CONTRACTS TO THE FAMILY MEMBERS AND THOSE CONNECTED TO THEM. I THINK THERE IS ALSO A SOSALA DIRECTOR IN ONE OF THEM. SO THAT GIVES YOU A GLIMPSE OF WHAT IS REALLY BEING DEFENDED IN THE BEMBA LAND. GBM AND HIS FAMILY NEED TO COME OUT CLEAN ON THIS ONE TO CONTINUE ENJOYING THE SUPPORT WE HAVE ALWAYS GIVEN HIM OTHERWISE IT’S NO NO NO!

  3. Do these people really sit and follow these procedures that they have developed on suspending or running the party? Even if you are not educated, but you must be wise enough on how to handle issues or even run a home. You wonder how they run their homes if they can exhibit such running of the government or party affairs.

Truly what has GBM done? May be he has done something serious that majority Zambians dont know only those in PF know. Learn to dialogue with dignity and find solutions to these squabbles in PF you people please for the sake of running this country for the betterment of our children.

  4. It must be really frustrating form sane People in PF like Madam Inonge Wina to see her boss consistently failing to up his hand and show leadership. One wonders what happened to the King Cobra Man of Action. Does Sate House have that ZOOOO (zeeee) effect on animals like snakes? I wonder.

Just last week Ms Wina told everybody to stay zeeeee and leave GBM alone. Now despite that they go aheard and suepend him. Clearly shows that they don’t respect her as party chair lady. What is she going to say now? I sympathyise with her, though am cognizant of the fact that her poor judgement to be aligned with Kaponyas is proving costly and she needs to pay for that. All the best madam.

    • Wise words MCB, they are some credible people in PF who are now stack and can’t really do anything because they will be dealt with by the Cobra. People like Inonge Wina, Lubinda, even young and upcoming leaders like Sampa (the man does do his work despite his extra curricular activities) are loosing their credibility due to their PF association. Shame

  5. I now agree with wynter kabimba when he said the PF had one of the most indisplined cadres in the history of zambia, let me even had the party president to kabimbas statement. PF at the moment is operating as a headless chicken. I highly regret having wasted my vote on PF.

    • @ Shi Kafula,
You are spot on regarding Kabimba’s statement but typical of PF cadre mentality Shamenda does not see all this insanity and wants to shift blame to UPND.

  6. Who is Chela by the way….?,I thought he is just a small fish in an ocean…! Am calling the headman where this boy stay to suspend his stay in there too.Because mwamba was just protecting ubufumu is that what he has done wrong…?.Young man do not be used remember Chanda chimba,William banda Swilapwa and many more they were just used and left with nothing same will happen to you what do you think GBM is going to loose he can feed your entire family kumo nabafyele ba wisokulu.Just leave him alone bakolwe.

  7. Guys understand Politics. GBM is not EXPELLED and will NEVER be EXPELLED. He will just act like Lubinda where he WILL JUST BE MUTE. Sata cant afford to LOOSE GBM.

I kno Sata he is a seasoned POLITICIAN he READS between lines.
    Ni guy Sata.

Developing Zed he will fail but NOT POLITIKING.

    BECAREFUL ZAMBIANS !!!

  8. “According to the information I have, Kasama Central has no MP says Chella as he suspends GBM”

HOW CAN A PRESIDENTIAL SPOKESMAN SUSPEND AN ELECTED MP!….LUSAKA TIMES, ZAMBIA ON LINE PUBLICATIONS GONE TO THE DOGS!

  9. i wish i could have supported pf all the way, the only thing is that i cant bare the embarrassment that come along day by day…

  10. Leaders who lack leadership and management skills always resort to such actions of suspending members for any simple reason. You have weakened your party in the province and Kasama in particular because I have been made to understand that even the district PF party officials differed over the signing of the suspension letter for the MP GBM! It is retrogressive to our constituency and district at large. You will now concentrate on suspension issues at the expense of developmental matters that the district and the province at large has been crying for.

  11. This is intra party democracy. The only problem in Zambia is that it took us so long under one party participatory democracy where divigent views were percieved as being a rebel and should call for a displinary action. What ever is happenning within our Political Parties should be be encouraged. It is health for the groth of our democracy. Gone is the time when every one should be a YES BWANA.

  12. The degree of indiscipline among political players in the PF has assumed alarming proportions. One can wonder what has gone wrong in a political party that stood a better chance to win massive support by exhibiting maturity. It’ s like there is leadership failure in the PF as everyone has got the stamina to suspend the other. What an indisciplined organisation I have never seen before, these guys are neither fit nor ready to run a country. Anyway, it’ s the fault of Zambians because the majority are not serious with the governance and future of their country.

  13. We shall vote for GBM to teach PF a lesson that individuals can decide to quit a ministerial post. For treating our Paramount chief PF will pay for it in the Northern Province, Copper-belt, Lusaka province and Central. I wonder whether PF will be looked at in the Western Province where PF has not treated the chief very well. Sata should ask RB who fought with Chief Nkomeshya. The end of PF for mistreating chiefs and for being insincere about releasing the draft constitution at the same time to the ;president and the people. We shall see if Chela shall smile when GBM wins the election.

  14. @ chikubabeniso

I D I O T, WHATEVER THE NAME IS, THE SO-CALLED HEADLINE SHOULD HAVE BEEN ENCLOSED IN “QUOTATION MARKS”.

IRRESPECTIVE OF THE ERA, LUAPULA WILL NOT AND SHALL NOT SHARE THE VOTING PLAT FORM WITH YOU.

    • Go back to school ,don’t say luapula because once northern denounces sata’So will the majority of people in luapula, use your brain and not your fingers in thinking.

  15. where is the cobra kanshi? is he there? is he ok? is it difficult to see what is happening? my God, so GBM will just be silenced like that, the way they did to Lubinda? ala chakupapa. some of us have so much hope in people like GBM, Given, but slowly they are being chopped off. The Cobra needs to realize that people like Winta are lying to him, let him ask RB how it feels to be cheated, we dont want him to realize late…man of action you still have time to put things straight, deal with these issues fast otherwise HH and Chipimo will beat you come 2016. is that what you want?

  16. If a blind man leads another blind man both will fall in the ditch, says the Bible. It follows therefore that if an ***** leads a pack of *****s the consequences are alarmingly predictable. This is happening in PF!

    • Everyone has their own problems in PF. I think Sata error ed in appointing the Party’s CEO into GRZ before he put his house inorder. They are now prior occupied with surviving the mess they have put themselves in. Kabimba has no capacity to do anything but be a ‘chola boy’ for the King. He needs refills like a paraffin lamp; each time the fuel runs out, it goes off. Sorry guys we in for a rough ride coz the Matero boys will definately fill this leadership gap

  17. What is happening of late is very embarrassing to be in pf. I pity bo Inonge Wina despite her advise to pf members stop harassing GBM but all in vain. Mum I am sorry a well behaved and mature person like you were not supposed to be in pf right now as things has turned to be, who is this chela to suspend GBM? Is he in order junior as he is to suspend the mp? Bo Inonge amuzwe mwa teni seli maswabisa luli ze se liezahala. Nakomoka luli kulu mukona cwani kuina nilika ze cwana ku zamaisa batu kapa naha?

  18. I fear for my country. Is there any one out there who can bring some sanity in our Zambia?
    1.Sata is just confused
    2.RB was corrupt
    3.Levy??? atleast he tried
    4.FTJ stole big time
5.KK took us to the stone age

  19. There appears to be one man with capacity to apply wisdom in PF and that man is the VP. When he opens his mouth, he is right on track 90% of his time but this racist constitution of ours seems to be not giving him the freedom and space to operate freely and as such he seems to be docile. Otherwise the VP would have risen to the occassion in periods of such a crisis. Certainly the PF is in a free-fall mode and if opposition parties had proper political marketing strategies, it would have become very clear by now that PF was going to pack in 2016.

  20. People are fired by Sata day in and day out. Is there anything wrong in one resigning? If people can be fired people can also resign!!

  21. This is a classic example of what happens to any organization, structure or entity – whether it be a country, a home, a company or political party – when a leadership vacuum is created. Any buffoon, scumbag or Im.becile within that organization can just wake up and spew any nonsense they feel like spewing knowing there are no consequences due to a lack of responsible leadership. Such a party, home, company orrganization or country cannot last long because it has no identifiable leader to speak on its behalf.
