THE latest Auditor General’s report for the year ending December 31, 2012 has been made available to the public. This is according to a statement issued by the Office of the Auditor General in Lusaka yesterday, the report has revealed that unvouched expenditure under the PG Government has significantly increased from K77 billion in 2011 to K553 billion in 2012.

“Unvouched expenditure is where payment vouchers are not availed for audit because they are either missing or inadequately supported and this is worrying the Office of the Auditor General as it may be a means of concealing wrong-doing,” the statement reads.

  1. mmmmmmmmmm, from K77billion in 2011 to K563million (which is K563 billion old currency) in 2012. awee ba PF this is an increase of over 618% in just one year of unsupported expenditure, or rather unvouched as the article has put it. so in short stealing has increased by over 618% under the PF government. SHAME, though am still PF

    • This is what we call “Gross Misconduct” or Violation of other law crime under section 106 sub section a and c under the Zambia constitution(In acted). failure to follow procurement procedure

Remedies require at least 1/3 MPs to move a motion of impeatchment

  2. “PG Government has significantly increased from K77 billion in 2011 to K553 million in 2012”
Really ba Lusaka times! I guess copying is also hard.

  3. Glaring irregularities in PF GRZ showing at least 5 major issues that have marred the regime:
    1. Misapplication of funds up 65%
    2. Unvouched expenditure up 618%
    3. unaccounted for stores up 95%
    4. failure to follow procurement procedure up 2925%
    5. non submission of expenditure returns up 296%
This statistics show that financial controls have weakened to almost non existent since PF took office. This is a gloomy picture indeed!

  4. The PF stands for no corruption – how can there be so much money in non following of procurement procedures? Politicians awe mwandi, you cant win.

  5. Awe what has happened to morals. All of them are the same really demoralizing to the poor voter. Thinking about it these are worse of them all it less than a term for God’s seek.

  6. Failure to follow procurement procedures aka ‘lawlessness’ has increased by more than 30 times compared to the MMD days.

  7. It would be helpful to have an update which is not history ,meaning cant it be as closer to current incomes and expenditures than two years back?It is a good idea to have a central direct public payments system through direct electronic transfers .Such a system would help quick updates and keep watch on any misdemeanors.I am not a fan of centralisation of systems but in this case, indicators are that it is necessary to help some irresponsible and selfish people charged with responsibilities to take care of our resources.

  8. The irregularities cited in the report are as a result of lack of motivation to workers…just mare mention of more money into peoples pocket without the actualizing the promises is taking our mother country to nowhere. Every being is busy fighting for a descent living, hence the results being reflected in the auditors report. As civil servants we desire meaningful pay and no two ways about it.
