Former Defence Minister Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba , popularly known as GBM, has also broken his silence on Vice President Guy Scott’s call for him to resign as Kasama Central Patriotic Front Member of Parliament.
In reaction to calls for him to resign from the party by DR Scott, Mr Mwamba said that the scheme by some PF members calling for him to resign was to divert attention from the real reason of his resignation from government.
Mwamba said Scott was just parroting other people’s agenda by calling for his resignation.
“I think it is about time I reacted to this stupid reporting about negative things all the time. I know their game plan they want to divert attention from the real reason I left government which was on principle,” he said.
“Guy Scott has never been to Northern Province he has never campaigned there and he has never campaigned for me. He was just parroting someone’s agenda. Let them expel me if they want and we will see what happens.”
Meanwhile, Mr Mwamba lawyers have taken the first step in suing the Post Newspapers by giving them a 48 hour ultimatum to withdraw their lead story that alleged their client Mr Mwamba was in Luanshya de-campaigning the PF when he was actually in Lusaka.
Mwamba’s lawyers Makebi Zulu asked the The Post Newspaper to retract the libelous article or face legal action.
The Post Newspapers has however refused to retract the story and instead published another story today alleging that GBM was in Luanshya.

What is wrong with the electorate of Kasama Central? Every other time they have difficult in voting for a very committed selfless MP. Once during MMD government there was former Hon. Chishimba something, who resigned mid-term, I think that was when GBM came on the scene. Either the people of Kasama are not interested in development that they fail to elect humble servant leaders as MPs, or they will remain depending on ‘psychology of big names’ candidates who take them for granted and wish to be idol-worshipped. If the present MP is royalty, let him leave the service required to be provided by ordinary progressive MP to be carried out by such a humble person for the sake of development. Otherwise Kasama will lag behind during this term of PF Govt.

The little that I know about Guy Scott is that he is undeniably Zambian by birth. His late father was the first who owned a newspaper publishing company in Northern Rhodesia ( now Zambia) some 61 years ago when I was born. Guy himself once served as MP for Mpika Constituency, as well as former Agriculture Minister. Therefore in civilized context, he is indeed Zambian especially that he is currently a sitting elected MP for Lusaka Central and deservedly Republican Vice President.

Kasama constituency will never lag behind in development. Those of you bacilande lande criticising GBM have not been to kasama constituency during the tenure of GBM as he has performed wonders . There is rapid development taking place there, forexample almost all the roads have received a new facelift of tarmac which was not there for the last 20 yrs or so you chaps have been moving from one party to another to practice politics of hero worshipping and of the belly. Stop criticising GBM, he resigned on principle and since when did resigning your ministerial position become an offence to warrant ba mumbwe imwe ukulatukana a hard working MP like GBM.
