FAZ protests FIFA fine

Share

The Football Association of Zambia has vehemently protested against FIFA’s hefty fine on them over international transfer irregularities.

FIFA on Wednesday hit FAZ with a US$56,000 fine for breaching player regulations after transferring eight players without any International Transfer Certificates (ITC) and outside the governing body’s International Transfer Matching System (ITMS).

Meanwhile, guilty clubs Power Dynamos and National Assembly were fined US$28,000 each in the scandal while Zanaco were fined US$22,000.

“If we are being punished for the statement as it reads on face value then it is wrong. If we are being punished for issuing a licence if you remember at the beginning of the season one or two players featured in one match before the FIFA was effected worldwide,” FAz spokesperson Erick Mwanza said.

“The moment FIFA announced the ban was worldwide we withdrew that licence nobody played. So which transfer regulation did we flout, which ITC did we issue? Which TMS did we not go to? I will wait for the response from TMS to clarify I want to understand the statement clearly.”

  1. Eric just pay the fines INSTEAD of issuing useless confusing statements…you empty suits are good at eating but when it comes to abiding by the rules in another story. And please don’t you go running to the Ministry of Sport for assistance in paying these fines.

  2. This management circus amuses every reasonable thinking. What’s wrong with this fuzzy? Just apologize you were not clever, you are not dealing with zedians.

    • “If we are being punished for issuing a licence if you remember at the beginning of the season one or two …………”

Its really preposterous, young Eric is issuing confusing statements which even he himself cannot understand. He assumes FIFA conducts its business from hearsay…they have the data right in front on them.

  3. ..Eric always warns and condemns FAZ members issuing ‘counter reactions’ thru the media as against FIFA rules. I’m sure for FIFA to settle on that figure and inform FAZ, there must have been prior correspondence between FIFA and FAZ to which Eric was supposed to dispute and exculpate themselves then.

Another $100,000 for communicating thru the press…..

  4. Bo jay jay please offer solutions at times always criticizing is off key.Scrutinizer make more sense than most comments.Try your best FAZ an effort is better.

  5. FIFA just ban them if thy can not stick to rules. Teach them that lawlessness should not extend to football, they can do it in their country but keep it there.

  6. Is this the official statement from FAZ or personal statement by a FAZ official. Can FAZ the teams involved tell us their side of the story so that we can debate intelligently and give advise to the affected clubs.

    • …this is exactly the ‘predicament’ the Vice President- Scott provoked when he gave a comment on South Africa whilst he claimed he was on holiday. On holiday or not, once the VP speaks , its official. So, in the same vein, Eric’s comment is official too……….

  7. Reporting nayo! If someone doesn’t make sense you dont just quote him. Phone him to find out what he meant. The statement “if we are being punished doesnt adhere to logic rules of grammatical construction I dont know whether its LT to blame or the quoted person but knowing Zambian journalism the reporter was sleeping and decided to transger nonsense to the reader

  8. I should have said; The statement beginning “if we are being punished….” doesnt adhere to logic rules of grammatical construction I dont know whether its LT to blame or the quoted person but knowing Zambian journalism the reporter was sleeping and decided to transfer nonsense to the reader
