KCCA dent Nkana ‘s dreams

Share

Nkana have been held to a 2-2 draw by Uganda’s Kampala City Council Authority in a thrilling 2014 CAF Champions League match at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe on Saturday.

Nkana failed to capitalise on 10-man KCCA’s numerical disadvantage after their midfielder Tom Masiko saw red from Djibouti referee Abdi Djamal for a second bookable offence.

Striker Tony Odur punished Nkana for missing early chances through Ronald Kampamba when he shook the net with a powerful shot to hand KCCA a 27th minute lead.

Eight minutes later Kampamba headed in an equaliser a minute after he had his penalty saved by keeper Omar Salim Magoole.

Fahad Kalule had handled in the box forcing referee Abdi to point to the spot before the two teams went to the break with a 1-1 score line.

Five minutes after the restart Shadreck Musonda sent Nkana in front netting a long range effort.

Fifteen minutes later KCCA levelled matters when Brian Majwega converted a penalty after Maybin Chishimba handled in the box.

    • @Nostradamus
where is Nostra?? ba nkana ba li mpwa? how can they be playing Billy mwanza a PF cadre who resigned from MMD,,, and in those days when all zambian teams used to win ba KK used to kick or touch the ball before kick off. But this Sata doesnot care about football,,, he loves zimbabwean weddings better

    • @Ndobo I was pa Chilata just to be told ati bayama bola is pa Arthur’s stadium.
The game was sansetional muleumfwako fye ba mwisho. That Shadreck Musonda, Sydney Kalume, and that namba 3 mayo ine… I thought it was Zambia vs Uganda.
You know what, these national teams sometimes should just take a club like Nkana or Power club as a national team, not mixing ukusashila. Nkana is only missing a goalkeeper, ine ichifukushi!!
Nkana please buy that goalie from Kaoma whom Patrice has found, extremely sensational mwaiche ulya as if he is not Lozi man.
I am in Tequila. Kalampa 2-2 Kampala, who can complain they are twins.
Next will be Kampala 0-0 Kalampa or vice versa

    • Hahahahaha namumfwa Ba Saulosi (Elf), ati Sata kicking ball to welcome a foreign club/players. But imwe @Ndobo you want to have a 3rd injured player in name of SATA!
Enough is is enough, Jacob & Chamanga are injured. don’t add SATA, a name like political party.

  1. Today’s 2 all draw looks likely to be the beginning of the end for Nkana and so far the defense appears their weakest link. Allowing six goals in three continental games – four of those goals at home – is a clear cut index the defense is porous. Much as they say it is never over until it’s over, one is compelled to speculate courtesy of history that they will not have it easy in Kampala and are thus likely to exit the competition.

  2. I believe there’s room for politeness now rather than retire Nkana FC under the penalty of law. Great effort ba Nkana.

  3. @ Ndobo

Mufana, gone are the old days. Never in modern footballing word can you see a president kicking the ball as a gesture of opening the match.

  4. Ba’Nkana mujje (come to) e’Kampala tubalage ebyana (and see the beauties), forget about the game. Ebyammwe ebyokuvuganya CAF bikomye, muwedde mwe (youre competition is over). Naye (but) how i used to love Cranes versus Chipolopolo matches this ishow kabiriti they used to be. Tewamanya (you couldnt predict) anawangula.

    • Mukwano Zed Its called Kiganda, i know many people in Zambia understand it because we used to listen to football braodcasts from Zambia in their local dialects. You say “iwe” we say “gwe”.

  5. kNANA you have an uphill battle on your hands.Generally the performance of Zambian clubs at international level is a direct reflection of the mediocricy of our local league. It has been a downward trend and in ther next few years if no deliberate action is taken to arrest this trend, football in Zambia will be relegated to cricket levels

  6. its over forget about progressing to the next round ,u guys u dont take home advantage seriously, how can u allow 5 goals at home in two matches ,the coach is mainly to blame why do u always use munthali and billy when they ve been costing team game after game

  7. I said it here and I am saying it again, to be able to compete on this stage requires investment and talent poaching from other countries. Gone are the days when you could win the African Champions League with local player. If in England or Germany where the leagues are more advanced it is not possible to win the champions league with only local players, what more here in Africa where we don’t even have facilities? Come on guys, lets be real. Can’t you see how we have lagged behind? That is the reason why every time we host a game at Ndola Stadium, instead of talking about how the game will be played, commentators are busy elaborating how modern the stadium is. Solution: invest in football, start buying foreign players from Malawi, Rwanda, Burundi, Egypt, South Africa, Kenya etc.

  8. Uganda should not be stopping Zambian clubs’ progress. They dont win anything. Kitwe has seen one African clubs champion so we should be teaching these people a footballing lesson!
