Players mourn Keagan Mumba

Share

Footballers have paid tribute to ex-Zambia Under-20 and Zanaco coach Keagan Mumba who died on Saturday in Lusaka after an illness.

Mumba died at the age of 52 and has left a wife plus six children.

Nkana striker Ronald Kampamba, a former Under-20 captain under Mumba (2012), described his death as sad.

“I am sad that Dad is gone. I will miss him,” said Kampamba.

The youngster was part of the Mumba coached – Junior Chipolopolo squad that won the 2011 Under-20 Cosafa Cup in Botswana.

And Kampamba’s colleague at the same competition, Evans Kangwa said:”Coach Keagan was a like a father to us footballers.”

“He used to fight for us whenever there was a problem between the executive and the players,” Kangwa added.

Mumba’s former players at Under-20 and Zanaco Roderick Kabwe said the deceased was a good coach.

“Of course he was a very good coach and he played a very big role in our careers.”

Mumba coached Green Buffaloes, City of Lusaka, Konkola Blades and Choma Eagles as well.

  1. I always tell people not to ban a person for “life”. At least he should have died on “suspension”, and FAZ would have been more than glad to take-over the funeral. Now in this situation, kufilwa no kufika pa chililo.
FAZ should lift ban on Simata Simata, am sure he is shaken too.

  2. ba LT Guys do some research. The guy was not only a coach. He used to be a player too so give us a comprehensive obituary not bits and pieces each day
