Government has disowned statements by some government officials on the constitution making process, describing them as personal opinions.

Chief Government Spokesperson Joseph Katema has told QFM News in an interview that statements being issued by government officials on the constitution other than those by the ministry of Justice are personal opinions.

Dr. Katema has since advised people not listen to personal opinions by government officials on the constitution, but get the government position on the issue through the ministry of Justice.

He says there are no contradictions in the government position on the constitution as perceived, stating that government’s position remains the same as stated by the minister of Justice.

Dr. Katema states that people should not complain about being misled by different statements by government officials, stating that the right information can only come from the ministry of Justice and the President.

  1. Bottom line, not just that the People of Zambia are in the dark on the issue of Constitution but also Cabinet Ministers.
One question, has the Minister of Justice assumed extraordinary powers in abrogating “collective responsibility” of the Cabinet?

  2. Dr. Katema has since advised people not listen to personal opinions by government officials on the constitution…

this is a true sign of a divided house and it will not stand the storm coming in 2016. now we have Ministers giving personal opinions on government matters, what a shame. Truly we have useless ministers.

  3. The constitution is in the wrong hands, Kabimba’s ministry?
Anyway, Only God will fight on behalf of the people of Zambia and deliver them from these oppressors.

    • God helps those that help themselves. This is your fight, your constitution.

Take up this responsibility on an individual level and this goes to everyone including myself.

  4. Why should I listen to a Minister of Justice who neither I or any of my fellow citizens voted for.

Wynter Kabimba simply has no mandate to talk to us about such an improtant issue. He doesn’t have any mandate from the Zambians.

  5. What is going on at RTSA Ridgeway? Some PF cadres have parked a hiace bus in the middle of the road and have all rushed inside RTSA offices. Very strange.

  6. Hahahahaha! I am enjoying the headless chicken jokes from the PF. Of all people the incoherent Kapimbe is given the role of the omnipotent spokesperson on the constitution? Surely PF can do better.

  7. How can they be perosnal opinions? From Cabinet Ministers? Indeed it is confusion all the way through.

  8. Press Release.

The PIG has observed many contradictory reports in the press on the Constitution making process, the latest being from Dr. Joseph Katema.

The PIG advises that this is just his personal opinion and should not be taken seriously and best be ignored.

The PIG states that people should not be misled by more lies by government officials and that the right information can only come from the opposition as the useless government is absolutely clueless on this matter.

  9. BUT HON KATEMA, YOU TOO ARE MAKING A STATEMENT AS A MINISTER. SO ARE YOU SAYING EVEN YOUR STATEMENT IS JUST A PERSONAL OPINION AND SHOULD NOT BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY??

    • Chisenga that is correct especially since he is Minister of Information and not Justice. What a bunch of jokers.

  13. Quote “Chief Government Spokesperson Joseph Katema has told QFM News in an interview that statements being issued by government officials on the constitution other than those by the ministry of Justice are personal opinions.”

DOES THIS INCLUDE SATA’S REMARKS ON THE SAME SINCE HE TOO IS A GOVT OFFICIAL AND NOT FROM MoJ?

  14. The circus continues. Each clown can say whatever they want, it is their personal opinion. Please give us a break, you clowns!

  15. Two suicidal issues from PF which they could easily have used to their advantage, 1) constitution making process 2) Henry Sosala.

The other unnecessary issue is that of language learning in school
