PF REGIME WILL SOON PAY FOR ITS ARROGANCE ON CONSTITUTION

OSF is concerned that the PF Government has continued to speak in tongues over a matter as crucial as the Constitution. Attempts by PF to reduce the demands for a new constitution to an agenda of the elite are nothing but cheap propaganda, which is arrogant and vexatious. We wish to remind PF Government that such arrogance will turn around to haunt them not very long from now.

PF seemingly is taking pride in it remaining deaf to their factual demands considering the current constitution is a heart without a shell, inefficient and will not deliver the Zambia young Zambians hope for.

The glimmers of hope for a new constitution stands adulterated by inefficient and lack of political will. Zambians have repeatedly paid for constitutional commissions that by now should have delivered a good constitution but elected leaders have taken pride in betraying the citizens. When citizens speak out on the need for a new constitution, there Government accuses them of being traitors.

Zambians from all walks of life must stand up to demand a replacement of the current constitution with a new one founded on modern doctrines of good governance and respect for the ordinary citizens.

The current constitution in its shape is a threat to democracy and the future stability and prosperity of the nation. 50 years after Independence, Zambia is a country heading for self-destruction and becoming a serious embarrassment on the continent. 50 years after Independence, corruption and theft reign supreme in Zambia.

Intimidation and corruption have become acceptable traits of every Government we have had. Unless we give ourselves a new constitution, Zambia is beginning to almost resemble of a cesspool; a backwater.

Zambian politicians in general and in particular, those from UNIP, MMD and PF must take responsibility for all the failure of democracy in Zambia. Both the governing party and opposition parties are equally guilty of this decay, and their failure to stop the destruction.

OSF is concerned that while we are seated with a country whose corruption is spiralling out of control, we have citizens who would rather that we continue embracing a constitution that withholds democratic gains. Zambians must realize that poor service delivery, dysfunctional and corruption-ridden institutions in this country are offsprings of a bad constitution.

Zambia is in dire need of a constitution that gives power back to the people. Sadly, we note that the PF Government has failed to consult adequately and has ignored the opposing views of citizens, business, NGOs, political parties and even the churches.

OSF wishes to place it on record that demands for a new constitution are morally justified because over the past 50 years, Zambians have come to agree that there are no Good People at all- ranging from UNIP, MMD and PF. There can only be Good Institutions supported by a Good Constitution in order for Zambians to reap the benefits of Good Governance.

    • There is money more It is not there on this one, donors have already stated that they WILL fund the Enactment of an new constitution under a referendum, don’t ask where the money is at this stage. Money is available, political will is what is not there by the PF government.

    • CORRECTIONS: There is money more than It is not there on this one, donors have already stated that they WILL fund the Enactment of a new constitution under a referendum, don’t ask where the money is at this stage. Money is available, political will is what is not there by the PF government.

    • This sounds like a gay organization.

The fact is the constitution cant be handed to the PS who is not the appointing authority.

    • PF BE WARNED THAT:

Society is all happy when the government is changed.(Remember the dance when MMD lost)
In an election men and women vote primarily to remove the leadership they don’t want rather than for the one they want.

All PF actions clearly indicate that they have lost favour of the majority Zambians and people vote against PF not necessarily for the party they like.

PF needs to practice what they preached pre 2011 election to regain the people ‘s confidence. Otherwise PF is headed for doom. And if they bull dose their way they will be met with people’s wrath.

UPND and HH I am in!

SATA AND PF ,WE WANT YOU OUT NOW!

  1. Imwe ba Lusaka times, the country is reeling about the news of PF cadres locking RATSA offices in Lusaka … you’re quiet about it. even ZNBC has out done you on this one.

C’mon guys do some ka report on it. Atleast we’ll get to know why the police let the PF cadres go ahead with that whilst they arrested those youths for wearing constitution demanding regalia. I guess preventing public workers from doing their work is not a route to anarchy whilst peacefully demanding for something due is.

  2. We cannot continue listening to trouble makers. We are on the path to develop this country and we are going to ahead.
Constitution —-panse( We shall talk about it later).

    We are serious!

    • Just like we are serious about kicking you out mu 2016. These ‘achievements’ of yours DO NOT MATTER to people who are hungry. Under previous regimes, development was slow because they knew a balance had to be struck between ensuring an affordable cost of living for the masses and also infrastructure development. Right now, your government is starving people and concentrating on long-term projects at the expense of immediate needs of the people. On top of that, your arrogance and failure to LISTEN to advise has null and voided your tuma roads. I live in Zambia, Chililabombwe right now is basically a no-go area for PF coz of massive job losses. They are making no secret of wanting the UPND to take over.

  3. PF policies have started paying dividends. Luo and Simusa are on record of being put to shame within their constituencies, Sata and his show ground experience in full view of Mugabe (the reason he is scared to visit public places), and yesterday RATSA got a feel of PF cadres (having having had their offices closed by force), police experience in Lusaka west and Chilanga. Yes, the dividends are there for them to see and reflect on, lies never pay.

  4. History will start by judging LPM first. He prioritized the constitution review process. History will then judge RBB. He failed to conclude the process. History will judge MCS. He kept the promise. He appointed the Silungwe led Technical Committee. He also set into motion the process of completion. However, the issue of census of population and the issue if referendum must be understood as costly projects that need more than sheer wishful thinking.

  5. 2016 elections are elections over nothing but only the constitution. This will be the deciding factor. We have tried everything else but failed. We have tried depending on good leaders but they have failed us. Our only hope is a people driven constitution that will form the foundation for good governance in the nation. The PF government have totally failed beyond doubt in everything. They will cry come 2016. Zambians are now clever and know why leader after leader we are going nowhere. We now know that it is the constitution which is not defective.

  6. Ka chanda just shut up,are not the same. Chap who used to support the same monster you are condeming today?

  7. seems pf has not bank rolled his pockets. Mumembe will be next the next shootist. Mwapya baPF, though we dont seem to have an alternative. I dread a government run by bena mweetwes. then we shall have kraals in the backyards. eish zambia!

  8. KA CHANDA,JUST SHUT UP?? No SPEAK AT LEAST YOU ARE BACK TO YOUR SENSES,I HOPE YOU ARE HAVE REPENTED OF YOUR SINS OF SUPPORTING THE SERPENT. UPND IS THE ONLY WAY TO GO.

  9. IM A MEMBER OF THE PATRIOTIC FRONT AND IM PROUD OF IT, but the only issue i have is the issue of street vendor’s in KABWE can the powers that be look at this issue, it’s unbelievable how absolutely filth our town has become , where is the coucil ?
