Former Communication and Transport Minister, William Harrington has welcomed the decision by former Tourism Minister Sylvia Masebo to sue him.

Ms. Masebo has sued Mr. Harrington for allegedly bringing her reputation into ridicule and disrepute after the tribunal cleared her of allegations of obtaining pecuniary advantage relating to the operations of the Zambia Wildlife Authority (ZAWA) when she served as Minister of Tourism.

But Mr. Harrington has told Qfm News in a telephone interview that he thinks Ms. Masebo may not have seriously thought through her decision to sue him.

Mr. Harrington however says he cannot wait to receive Ms. Masebo’s Court summons.

He notes that once his lawyers have studied the documents, he will raise preliminary issues with regards Ms Masebo’s law suit.

Mr. Harrington could not however state what preliminary issues his lawyers intend to raise pertaining to Ms. Masebo’s legal claims.

    • It is obvious to anyone with a brain that Masebo’s case is misconceived and wont be going anywhere beyond the writs issued. It is clear that the likes of Masebo and indeed the PF consider public funds (tax payers money) as their personal money, if the earlier lawsuit filed by Harrington is anything to go by. As a citizen he suit Masebo for abuse of office with evidence that Masebo used public funds to fly, house and maintain a load of witnesses during the tribunal hearing. She is now counter-claiming that she used her own money? but then again. who asked her to bring this army of witnesses to Lusaka? was it the courts or was it Harrington? Why did she need them? and I am sure the tribunal didnt just focus on the Ministerial Code of Conduct which she seems to want to rely on..Weak case

  1. “But Mr. Harrington has told Qfm News in a telephone interview that he thinks Ms. Masebo may not have seriously thought through her decision to sue him”……..True

  2. Ba Harrington I told you, please find worthwhile things to spend your time on. Mwamona nomba, another wasted mileage in Legal Battles. Awe mwe.

    • Harrington and Dante Saunders need jobs. The two have one thing in common, they seem not to have fixed abode, they are semi muzungus and want to make money through bogus lawsuits. Who ever is using them should feel sorry for the two and just employ them full time.

    • @Chilankalipa and Chabwera
Both of you must be very thick and unable to reason. What is so difficult to comprehend in this saga? Masebo was wrong in the way she conducted herself as a Minister and we should thank Harrington for the stance he took to take on Masebo. To me, its does not matter whether or not this was so selfish gains as long as he has exposed the abuse of power in those who benefit from tax payers money. If Masebo was deligent in her operations, Harrington would not be such a “Champion” that he has become. People elected to high offices should be “above board” in how they discharge their functions..Not arrogance with impunity as is the case with most PF ministers. Both of you must grow up and use your brains..unless of course you are paid to support blindly..

    • I still insist that Harrington has nothing to do except obtain money from proxies and carry out litigations on their behalf. In Short he is just another shameless mercenary.

  3. ba Harrington: mwanawasa told us that you sued your own mother.the man like court. However why cant you two just reconcile perhaps even DATE

  4. Masebo thinks Harrington is soft target to sue, why doesn’t she sue Sata, he fired her
With no proper reason, Harrington is still challenging why she was found half quilty
So the first case is far from being over, stupid of her, Harrington can also counter-sue

  5. Is Masebo not supposed to be charged for lying under oath? She told the tribunal that President Sata is the one who instructed her to fire the ZAWA managers. But she could not produce the evidence to that effect. Or is it okay to lie under oath to a tribunal?

  6. Chabwera, it is your right as a citizen to ensure good governance norms are followed by officers in entrusted with jobs of responsibility. When best practices or codes of conduct are being thrown to the wind, you have a right to point out these things for the betterment of the nation. In short, you as a citizen and tax payer has a part to play or say in the manner that you are being governed. Do not poke fun at Harrington or Saunders. The people in power always tread carefully when they know citizens are wide awake. There is a direct relationship between being backward and keeping quiet in the face of government transgressions.

  7. Shameless lady, she cant even take time to think over her dismissal & the soon to be recalled retard son who cost Lubindas job.
She thinks she is too special but she keeps using the masebo name instead of mulambiwa.
