The Zambia Congress Trade Unions (ZCTU) says it is deeply concerned with recent remarks by President Micheal Sata on the constitution.

ZCTU President Leonard Hikaumba has told QFM News that it is unfortunate that the Head of State is coming out so negative about the new constitution.

Mr. Hikaumba says President Sata himself promised the Zambian people a new constitution, wondering what has necessitated the change of heart on the issue.

He says Zambians want a constitution which will be in tandem with their aspirations.

Mr Hikaumba says the best government can do is to complete the constitution making process considering that the process has already gobbled huge amounts of money.

He adds that President Micheal Sata knew from the beginning that the current constitution needed to be replaced.

  1. IT IS VERY SIMPLE HIKAUMBA.
A NEW CONSTITUTION WILL INTRODUCE REAL DEMOCRACY
A NEW CONSTITUTION WILL STRIP SOMEBODY OF MANY DICTATORIAL POWERS
    SO WHY CHANGE IT?
    ASK KK!!!
