I am Chitimukulu, says Sosala

Mr Henry Kanyanta Sosala has maintained that he is the rightful heir to the Chitimukulu throne and that the statement by President Michael Sata that he was masquarading was unfounded.

He said claims by President Sata that he was masquerading as Paramount Chief Chitimukulu of the Bemba people were unfounded because President Sata did not belong to the Bemba Electoral College.
Speaking through his special advisor Mr Musonda Mwamba, the Mwinelubemba said that it was unfortunate that the Head of State could not leave issues of tradition affairs to the people that were supposed to deal with them.

Mr Mwamba said Mr Kanyanta Sosala was duly recognised and installed after observing all traditional requirements as Paramount Chief Chitimukulu Kanyanta Manga II of the Bemba people by the Bashilubemba and that it was time that President Sata accepted this decision.

He said it was unfair that instead of providing leadership aimed at uniting the Zambian people, President Sata was openly dividing the nation by interfering in traditional matters.

The Mwinelubemba’s advisor said all the traditional relics were handed over to the Mwinelubemba and that he had been accepted by all people except those who did not understand what the role of the Bemba Electoral College was all about.

“We are shocked that the Head of State has continued to despise what we the Bemba’s have decided but we don’t understand why he harbours so much hatred for our Paramount Chief. As Bemba’s we are happy that we have a Paramount chief in office and he is performing his duties diligently even if he has not yet occupied his royal palace.

“Nonetheless, ‘Apasangwa infumu epe sano’(wherever you find the chief, that is his palace) and he can perform duties bestowed on him. What Mr Sata is saying is something that we cannot describe because he is in his own world. If he cannot recognise our Mwinelubemba now, time will catch up with him because soon another President will recognise him,” Mr Mwamba said.

He said claims that the President degazeted Sosala as senior chief Mwamba in 2013 did not affect the Bemba selection process as the Bashilubemba had no issues with the current Paramount Chief and that they recognised that the Head of State had no powers to dictate to them on who should be the heir to the throne.

Meanwhile, Mr Mwamba said the Paramount chief Chitimukulu has not yet shifted to his royal palace despite the decision by the armed police officers to leave the palace.

He explained that the officers were still staying in the villages surrounding the palace because they did not see the reason why they had been assigned to guard the place.

He said the Bashilubemba would only allow the Mwinelubemba to occupy the palace once the State completely withdrew the officers it had deployed to the area.

    • @ Nubian Princess, what do you think about your own question? Does it really come from yourreasoning or just off the chuff?

    • Mwinelubemba, mwefumu yababemba, twa kukula pa kumichilela. Ichebemba chitila, epowasanga imfumu, epesono. Eicho, bakapokola nababe uku kwisano (palace), patu emwe muli imfumu apopose muli.

translation: Where ever you meet The Bemba Chief, Chitimukulu, that place is regarded as a palace (kwisano). Therefore, PF is waiting they time surrounding the palace.

  1. Your Highness just ignore the i diot. Sata is simply an imbecile with no brains. He forgets he won’t be president for ever. His evil deeds are fast catching up with him.

  2. Bembas are useless chaps who don’t stand up for their chitimukulu but always bragging to be smart on the street.action speaks louder than words.

    • The problem is Sata is son from the soils of Bemba speaking people and what he has done is simple but complex. What do you do if a son does wrong to his family? You surely can’t disown him but let passage of time solve issure. Punishment can come in due course.

    • THAT’S TRUE THE THING IS THAT THE PIPO (BASHILUBEMBA) ARE DOING NOTHING COZ THEY AR TH ONES WHO APPOINTS A CHIEF. SO IF ALL STARTS FROM THERE THEN TH REST CAN FOLLOW…..

    • @4 chikubabeniso – Look who is talking! Sata is dragging his feet over the new constitution which is far more important than this Sosala issue. What have you done about it? Ukusonkelekanya will not wash. We say umwana kasembe kalakoma watola wakobeka. This will be resolved somehow.

  3. Never ever before in tradition Africa has the head of state refused the rightful heir to the throne, and worse still wanting to find someone else to be installed! This is not real, we are dreaming as a people. Its a mirage of thinking.

  4. “Epo wasanga imfumu ninshi epe sano” – I should know coz I’m from there! A palace is nothing but a plush building if the King does not reside there. Even a small hut can be a palace as long the King calls it home. Wasting money and manpower guarding an empty building when we need those officers in Chibolya and other places. Exam time 2016 is just around the corner, better start working now.

  5. These tuma-paramount chiefs, they all look the same utwapwa na ma-para kwati twalafwa nombaline – aka kene, ka Mpezeni, nakalya aka ku Livinstone ka Mukuni. Uwa puswa fye niulya waku western eu lemoneka ukulila but naena ali lufya umukashi.

    • Being a small body, being thin or call it whatever is not tantamount to being finished, ukupwa as you put it. These people are real original people. Yes you are what you eat including being fatty with nothing in the brains. Being fat is a health hazard, ever complaining of problems of the knee, sweaty, high blood pressure, heart failure, general uncomfort, cant run, etc. Fat people ever complain of this or that healthwise. So whats the point in saying the slim people look like finished? Anyone you see, what matters is the thinking and works that one can achieve. For instance a very, very short man, late FTJ Chiluba was a really small man, but do you remember him? He lead the Trade Unions in Zambia and later became Republican President. Big fatty chaps just followed him!

    • You have no brians MUPU or what ever you call yourself, *****. Did you fall from your mothers Ass hole?have manners and grow up!

    • @MUPU is very right. Utuma Chief utu twine alumbula twalipwa. And yet etu panga ne chongo sana. Utumyendo kwati to mastiks. What a chief! Are your subjects not taking care of you?

  6. I do not understand why the whole Republican Presidency can entangle itself in such matters that are largely independent of that office. Surely does the President’s office have the luxury of time to expend its time on such matters? Please let us get on with more serious issues. Leave Sosala alone. Just recognise him and your responsibility ends there.

  7. My feeling is that mcs hates pure bembas,he has a hidden hatred towards u folks, its only that his mother side married a lot of bemba crowns that he has infused some of his relatives in govt, otherwise he would have wiped out all the bemba tribe by now.anyway u my docile cousins continue to enjoy the comedy of trial and error. To the chitimukulu all I can say is forgive sata as forgiveness benefits the forgiver.

    • @12 chikubabeniso – Our cousin also! At least Sosala has refused to be used like your PF cadre Mpezeni. Anyway, Sata is probably trying to settle some old scores i.e. his brother-in-law Steven Mutale was removed from the Chikwanda chieftaincy some years ago thereby preventing him from advancing to Senior Chief Nkula and possibly Chitimukulu.

  8. Seriously, Sata is dividing the Nation and creating anger an hatred instead of unity for developmental purposes. 60% of our Country’s population is in the rural Areas. These are the people who put him into power. Is this how he treats them?

  9. Sata is busy writing his autobiography. the fifth president of Zambia. The rest of the storry is his.

  10. Yes you are…..politics had never had a role in traditional matters, only that we have got a sitting President that is so insecure that he wants to dwell in any single issue that he does not have any idea about. And if h has been calling his mps as fools, i wonder if he is the smartest cos i donno where we heading to.

  11. Never ever listen to a finished lion because it fails to catch up with prey. Bashilubemba don’t even argue with him. One man can not fight a dozen. That is how it is with one when he or she has reached his/her finishing point. These his last days (Kicks of a dying horse).

  12. It doesn’t work to play hide and seek in matters of this nature. Why is the president and the Chitimukulu using the media to play tag? Don’t they have a clearly defined forum where this issue can be addressed once and for all? This is a total embarrassment not only to the Bashilubemba but to the presidency as well. Must Zambians continue to behave like children even at such high level? It is a disgrace.
