Share

Shepolopolo qualified for their maiden Africa Women Championship on Sunday after beating Zimbabwe 2-0 on aggregate.

The Charles Mwale coached Zambian side beat Zimbabwe 1-0 in the return leg of the final qualifying round match at Nkoloma Stadium on Sunday to rewrite history.

Striker Hellen Mubanga scored the lone goal in the 37th minute which Zambia defended well.

Mubanga was also the lone goal scorer in the first leg tie played at Rufaro Stadium in Harare two weeks ago.

Shepolopolo becomes the second Zambian female football team to qualify for a major competition after their Under-17 counterparts made their debut at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Cost Rica earlier this year.
