Defending champions Nkana crawed into fifth place on the FAZ Super League table after beating ten-man National Assembly 3-2 in a Week 15 fixture at Nkana Stadium in Kitwe on Saturday.
A brace from Evans Kangwa and Ronald Kampamba’s late goal pushed Nkana to 23 points from 12 matches.
Kangwa put Nkana in front two minutes after the half time break when he converted a free kick from the edge of the box after Morgan Kanjolo had handled.
Three minutes later, Isaac Lungu headed in Assembly’s equaliser from a corner to beat keeper Rabson Mucheleng’anga.
Kangwa completed his brace two minutes later – tapping in Ronald Kampamba’s pass from close-range.
Assembly were reduced to ten men in the 78th minute when Kanjolo saw red from referee Francis Lombe for a second yellow card.
Three minutes from time Kampamba scored Nkana’s third after he was set up by Kangwa inside the box before Assembly scared Nkana with Peter Mwaangani reducing the lead to 3-2 from a penalty kick.
Nkana move up from seventh to fifth on 23 points from twelve games with three matches in hand and are ten points behind leaders Zanaco.
Assembly drop from sixth to seventh on 21 points.
