PRESIDENT Sata’s family and friends congratulated him on his 77th birthday, which fell on Sunday.
In a statement issued to the Daily Mail yesterday, family spokesperson Chanda Kasolo said the family was delighted to spend time with the President on his birthday.
“We would like to congratulate our President, His Excellency Michael Chilufya Sata, on his milestone birthday that fell on Sunday,” Mr Kasolo said.
He said President Sata’s family, especially his grandchildren, were very happy to spend a wonderful time with him.
“We wish you nothing but the best of health and happiness as you continue taking charge of the affairs of the nation. We would like to also welcome you back home,” Mr Kasolo said.
The family also thanked those who prayed for President Sata while he was on a working holiday in Israel.
“…God bless you, Mr President,” Mr Kasolo said.

My advice to the president’s handlers is better keep quiet than releasing information that is purely window dressing. The problem with deceit is that people will always through it and you have to keep inventing more deceits. An employer can fire an employee who has failed to perform without stating the reasons for the action. Equally, an employee can be allowed to proceed on medical leave upon production of a medical report and his pay can be affected if he goes on this leave for more than three months. It is high time we started demanding performance from the most important worker in the country.
I propose the brains in this country should start thinking and not allow people like Kabimba and Mmembe look like stars from the back door. Where is Kasemba in all this? I used to think she was the most followed first lady. So many people are being paid for not doing nothing in this country.

This headline is misleading: “President Michael Sata celebrated his birthday with family and friends at State House-family spokesperson…” I see family in the two photos taken by the president’s son Mulenga Sata, but I most certainly do NOT see any “friends”. Mr Kasolo and/or Mr Mulenga Sata, could you kindly avail us of the names or photo of the “friends” that joined the president in his joyful cerebration of his wonderful birthday? Otherwise, please forgive our skepticism.
