Transport, Works, Supply and Communications Minister Yamfwa Mukanga has urged employees in his Ministry to engage in active exercises in order to keep their bodies healthy.

Mukanga said active participation in sport is cardinal in keeping a strong and vibrant work force that can contribute positively to the economic development of the country.

The Minister reiterated that activities away from normal work schedule are fundamental in building strong and lasting personal relationships among employees.

ZANIS Reports that Mukanga said this in Lusaka today when he flagged off a sports festival organised for his ministry by the Zambia Telecommunications Company (ZAMTEL) held at Barclays Bank Sports Complex in Lusaka yesterday.

The Ministry and Agencies taking part in the sports festival include the Road Development Agency (RDA), Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA), Zambia Information Communication Technology Authority (ZICTA), Zambia Railway Limited (ZRL), and the National Airports Corporation (NACL).

Earlier, ZAMTEL Chief Executive Officer Mupanga Mwanakatwe said his organization will continue to organize sports festivals aimed at promoting physical fitness as well as a platform for exchange of ideas.

  1. Well said,Minister,it is true the devil will always find idle hands to use, just like is happening in your goverment.A lot of pilfering of CDF funds, nepotism, not following tender procedures and lack of tranparent in your party. This has made the Devil to use you and others, if you can be busy the better the Devil won’t use to you to pilfer and others.

  2. Say what! This coming from a chipub.a gettig fatter on tax payers’ money! And to think Zambian voted for these clowns with their own pens!

  3. Thanks my dear brother. Dont listern from a minority bitter group posting insults. You are an accomplished engineer.

  4. THIS IS NOT COMING FROM YAMFWA!!! YAMFWA HIMSELF LOOKS LIKE AN OVER-FED PIG. WHY NOT MAKE YOURSELF HEALTH FIRST? IN ANY CASE MORE THAN 80% OF ZAMBIANS ARE NOT EVEN SLIM BY CHOICE BUT VERY THIN BECAUSE EVERY FOOD THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO EAT IS GRABBED AND EATEN BY MUKANGA HIMSELF. LOOK AT YOURSELF GUYS BEFORE YOU START ACCUSING OTHERS AS BEING GLUTTONS.

  5. Really laughable these empty tins like Yamfwa think donning a track suit with trainers with a matching cap is keeping fit….god knows how he even managed to get up from that chair in that photo.

  6. Dear all, take what Yamfwa is saying. This man appears to have diabettes and hypetension, and understands better what is the importance of exercise, how we all can avoid struggling with our bodies in future. i believe he is speaking from his heart and with love.

if you dont see it, continue ignoring his advice, and remain fat. the day you will want to lose weight, you will fail because the weight will be caused by the medicines, not food
