Kitwe Playing Fields stirs back to life

Share

The new Kitwe Playing Fields (KPF) board says it has started reviving all the inactive sporting disciplines at the facility.

KPF had facilities for football, tennis, hockey, weightlifting, swimming, badminton and darts among others before the multi sports infrastructure ran-down.

Board chairman Pater Manda said he was happy that rugby and hockey have been revived at KPF.

“We have to put up a tennis court now, so far we have done the rugby field, soccer pitch and hockey pitch,” Manda said.

“We are inviting all the children from nearby communities such as Buchi, Kamitondo, Kwacha, Chimwemwe, Bulangililo and Parklands to come and take up a sport of their choice,” he said.

Manda added:”We can not do well if we don’t develop sport from the lower level. We want to see that when a child is ten they are able to control the ball of soccer, pass the rugby ball and hit back a tennis ball.”

The KPF board of directors was reconstituted in January following a successful conclusion of a court case.

  1. Thank God finally KPF is back to life. The road leading to KPF from Parkland shopping centre is a marvel to drive on and thanks to the caring Govt. Please keep it up all. Zambia is indeed being restored. If only President Sata came in much earlier, Zambia would have been paradise by now.

    • The KPF grounds are a sex fields. The rugby fields and HOCKEY FIELDS so much spoken about are are spread with condoms . The name should be changed to KSF(Kitwe Sex Fields)

  2. We want to see that when a child is ten they are able to control the ball of soccer, pass the rugby ball and hit back a tennis ball.” Yes this how Serena willliams did at ten.
Now this children will be motivated if you give them a pamela and a packet of beans from Solwezi.
