Acting president Guy Scott has been reminded to be way that while he presides over the affairs of his party the ruling Patriotic Front (PF) he still has the responsibility to ensure that there is peace and stability in the country.

Opposition Zambians for Empowerment and Development (ZED) president Frederick Mutesa says this means that Dr. Scott should not let his personal preferences in the election of the successor to late President Michael Sata cloud his view of the broader national interest.

Dr. Mutesa states that superintending the ruling PF’s elections at the on-going General Conference in Kabwe is only one hurdle that Dr. Scott has to clear.

He tells Qfm News that the next and higher hurdle is the presidential by-election that is due on the 20th of January, 2015.

The ZED leader has suggested that Dr. Scott must therefore show his mettle now by not allowing the intra-party power struggles in his party derail a national programme in which all citizens have a stake.

He says Dr. Scott must be decisive and impartial.

The opposition leader has also observed that while it is a fact that in every election, there are winners and losers it is obvious that Dr. Scott is on the losing side of the power-play within the ruling PF.

He says by facilitating what the majority of the PF members want, Dr Scott can however redeem himself and earn himself a place in the annals of the ruling PF’s history as an impartial umpire.

Dr. Mutesa has wondered how the people of Zambia will have confidence that Dr. Scott as Acting Republican President will superintend over free and fair presidential election in which his party will be one of the many competitors, if he does not put his personal biases aside now.

He states that the last thing Zambians want to see is the confusion that has rocked the ruling PF spill over to the national electoral process.

    • If not HH who? Please tell me who. We are headed for one of the best finishes in modern history. Accept it or not, like it or not, after 20 January 2015, HH will be inaugurated as Zambia’s 6th PRESIDENT.

  1. Scot is a PIG, PF is finished and Ba mukamfwila is another useless failure, she killed her husband in Vain. wailashya Kaseba.

    • Juvohabe
Your ka screen name boss…tafuna kuziluma ka

My friendly word to you is that Scott is not a Pig..he is human just like you

” I don’t condone racism, whether it comes from a black man or a white man”
      Nelson Mandela

      2015 vote PF

      I thank you

    • IF Scott is a pig then what are you? Please desist from racial comments it does not help or build, soon someone will be calling you a monkey. We are simply human beings period. Let us differ in opinions and put the color of our hair or skin aside.

  2. Brilliant point Mr Mutesa. Mr Scott mist not be seen to be supporting anyone at this moment, he will only have himself to blame if this country goes up in flames coz he won’t manage to runaway

  3. Leopold II was King of Belgium from 1865-1909. With financial support from the government, Leopold created the Congo Free State, a private project undertaken to extract rubber and ivory in the Congo region of central Africa, which relied on forced labour and resulted in the deaths of approximately 3 million Congolese. The regime of the Congo Free State became one of the more infamous international scandals of the turn of the century. The area of land privately owned by the King was an area 76 times larger than Belgium, which he was free to rule as a personal domain through his private army, the Force Publique. Leopold’s rubber gatherers tortured, maimed and slaughtered until at the turn of the century, the conscience of the Western world forced Brussels to call a halt.

  4. From the start, why did zambians allow this pig to rule us, is it because we have that inferiority complexity of saying whites are better than us or what. I don’t fully blame Scott for all this, since even the late didn’t entertain this rubbish. The person who knew him never allowed this to happen but we out of ideas went against his wishes, and now it’s biting us.

  5. If it is evidently walking like a duck and quacking like a duck right now in Kabwe, how on earth can we expect it to behave like an Eagle come January 20th? A duck will behave like a duck. Period. Solution is to solicit help from neutral external organisations including international community.

  6. Mau Mau

Now this shows that all these guys in the opposition know who will win the elections. …it’s all eyes on PF my friend
They all know HH is just having a tour of Zambia burning gas for nothing….

    2015 vote PF

    I thank you

  7. Why is he poking his nose in another party? He should be selling his party now. Is he going to stand on his partys ticket? I dont know what your party is promising the Zambian people.

  8. I agree with you Dkar. My mind fails to understand those so called president of katemba party. They seem to have advise for Scott or HH and yet we can’t see what they’re doing themselves. Those insulting Scott should be ashamed of themselves. How can we Zambians sink so low to insult people who have been created by God? Disagree with Scott but don’t insult him because of his colour. Would you be happy to be called a pig yourself?

  9. Everyone has seen what a MESS that Galu Scott has made in PF. The rot started when Lungu handed power to Scott and it has been downhill since then! The pig has been changing rules and making decisions alone but the tide towards Lungu is even greater!

The stup.ity of this white APE is there for all to see. There was even no need for this conference or convention but Scott unileterally organised it thinking his prefered candidate would win the party vote even when all the odds were stacked against his flawed thinking.

Foolishly, even dinosours like Kambwili and that Great Bag of Sh.it [GBM] fell for this nonsense! Now Scott, Kambwili, and GBM will eat SH.IT together when they lose to Lungu at the Conference and Convention which they organised! The only winners are Lungu and Wina

  10. Mj Banda if you are a Victim of racism, please take it to the Toilet not Zambia.

Obvious you must be a backward Zambian, lack of exposure and uneducated imbecile individual. For once Plse leave Guy Scott alone.

  11. Wise words from my friend, Fred – Scot would do well to heed the advice. It is clear Edgar is popular! Any machinations to rob him. Again will be chaos.
May I add that even when Edgar heads PF may not mean he will be automatic president. If he indeed become president, Scot can revive Lima Party and fight to form next government in 2016. Other wise Scot will go down as colonialist who tried to impose a divide rule tactics and he wil be dealt with harshly.

So Scot do not set this country on a collision course with your misguided position .

    • Forming another party after one loses? That is stoopid! When will you realize that Zambian political parties have the same ideology?
      Just stoopid.

  12. Fred is right. Guy has taken a side that is why he is failing to accept what is on the ground. From the look of things on the ground the s lungu has more support than any other candidate at the convetion. Guy can not accept this hence the delay to open the conference. (How can Guy give a lift to Dr. Kaseba who is a competitors in pf. It seems Guy is for Dr Kaseba. Wil wait and see

  13. Leave Guy Scott alone you mentally retarded monkeys! What would you have done better yourselves when you have failed to develop your small country over 50 years. Idi.ots. I will not tolerate racist language about somebody who is trying to do his best coordinating a bunch of monkeys who can’t even add 1 +1 without using a calculator. Vipuba va imbwa. Chi Dr Fred Mutesa a total failure should just go where he comes from originally, he is one of those who can never be Republican President in Zambia and he knows that. I don’t even know why he is heading an opposition party. If he can’t understand the national constitution is he the kind of person with credibility to illogically criticise Guy Scott? You talk too much with empty heads in Zambia. Deekheds!

  14. Truly Dr Mutesa is very right on this one. Dog Scott is the most useless, indecisive, divisive and uncaring person I have ever come across. It is clearly written on the wall that his preferred PF presidential hopeful has no chance. The tricks he is applying will not help him. Let him concede defeat and allow peace to prevail.

  15. The confusion in PF is not new, it has been there before. Even running the country has been confusion after confusion. Zwaaa

  16. @mau-mau, you are really sellout, it you were in South Africa, you would have been necklaced. what are you benefiting from supporting the dog scott. whether you like it or not, its EL s’ time. For your own information, am not that kind of a guy who swores at my fellow blacks and i have alot maybe more than you who can hide your name as mau-mau. are you even an indeginous citizen of Zambia?

  17. At this point, the UPND has gone into gear 5 were campaigning is concerned and it seems like they have all the popularity at the moment. I guess the moment these PF wrangles goes to sleep, therefore after they (pf) choose/settle for their preferred candidate; we shall then see how truly popular UPND is at the moment. For now, UPND seems to be competing with no one in its campaigns since PF is ‘sleeping’. But if the PF’s convention comes out fruitful, i foresee fire coming out from them. UPND may just tremble. They may be overwhelmed with PFs support and aggressive campaign. Lets wait and see. (My opinion)

    • Ni donchi kubeba again. Let pf alase kamayo icigayo, chief flat screen TV, Katondo boi incinga! Get them fitenge but donchi kubeba ati you are voting for HH.

      Donchi kubeba!

  18. Tell me someone if Scott is failing to preside over a party conference to choose a leader, how is going to preside over the national elections? Uyu kansi, ni munthu wanji? What did HH call him again?
