Janza hails Bafana Bafana friendly

Share

Chipolopolo coach Honour Janza is thrilled that Zambia has secured a high profile friendly against South Africa.

The friendly will be played on January 4 at Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg.

Both teams will use this match to prepare for their 2015 Africa Cup outing to be hosted by Equatorial Guinea.

Janza described the friendly as important to Zambia.

“We need such high-profile friendly matches,” Janza said.

“It is an important game because playing South Africa will give us an insight if what we should expect in Equatorial Guinea.”

Janza hoped that Zambia be able to secure two more friendlies before the tournament kicks-off on January 17.

Zambia is in Group B with DR Congo, Tunisia and Cape Verde.

  1. FAZ should not be misguided that playing teams going to Equatorial Guinea is the best way to prepare. Some teams out there who failed to qualify can still give zambia a good run or practice and thats what matters. Angola or Tanzania are teams readily available and willing to give us good games. Bafana Bafana might even dump the game few days before something they have done before. When football fortunes appear to improve on their side, they get bothered and want to play high ranked teams for example Tunisia who they will play and it has relevance because they have Algeria in the group. So why will they want to play Zambia anyway? Last played them only because we were african champions during the Mandela cup, they wanted to make a name for themselves but they lost. So get physical Angolans.

  2. Any way is the best. South African is a strong team. They will give Zambia a good game. Who knows maybe play each other during the tournament. It is about time to checkout loop holes.
