Patriotic Front Mpulungu Member of Parliament Freedom Sikazwe says the opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) should be prepared for a rude shock after the January 20th presidential by-election.
Mr. Sikazwe who is also Northern province Minister says the UPND is busy sending wrong information to the media that it had successful rallies in Northern Province when most of the rallies flopped.
Mr. Sikazwe says UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema has a strategy of not going with the media in places he knows he is not popular so that he can manipulate the media that he held mammoth rallies such areas.
He says he was shocked to hear in the media that Mr. Hichilema had a successful rally in Mpulungu District when he showed up for the said rally after 18:00hrs which was only attended by children.
The Mpulungu PF Member of Parliament states that the UPND and other opposition political parties will not perform well in Northern Province because it is one of the strongholds of the ruling party.

Politicians and their handlers strategic or not, are better off realizing early that in societies with limited social
preoccupations, people social loafers or not tend to take political rallies as outdoor events of social recreation. worse still in a culture of Don’t Kubeba, mass rallies or overhead campaigns can be terrible barometers of political leverage. They are realistically poor tools of ascertaining winning support unless underlying issues are invoked. There are more underlying issues which should instead be invoked to trigger voters bias in the booth. Failure to realize this reality in the campaign, triggers shocks in many politicians. It is no mistake that campaign and elections in the USA take the dimension of town-hall meeting fostering better connection with voters.
A true picture is worth a thousand words…… and a false or doctored picture is worth……to be dumped into the trash.

If you dont know,in 2011 HH got 2 400 and Sata 260 800 votes in Northern then again in Luapula HH got 1 700 and Sata(PF) 151 600 plus!so UPND cadres check huge gaps and think if your HH can beat PF in its strongholds!dont be deceived by pictures.the reality is harsh for HH in those areas just like its harsh for PF in Southern!PF is for sure winning in 2015!

The winner of the coming elections will be the won who will collect from ALL the provinces AND SO FAR, HH is way far ahead of Lungu. Deny this fact only if you want to delay your heart-attack until the results day on 21st Jan.
Fi PF nanomba tafilaleka ubukopo. What will it help EL if he collected 90% in northern province but lost in all the other provinces? You can’t just rely on one province to win the election. Fact of the matter is that since Sata divided the northern province infact the population of northern province is even lower. If the UPND was not a regional party, a Bantustan party, it’s victory would have been assured in this election. But equally, it won’t be easy for them because they have done nothing to extend the influence and appeal of their political party beyond the borders of their Bantustan. They are now trying frantically to recruit a few personalities here and there to give them the appearance of a national character. Such desperate moves often don’t work. Instead of addressing the challenges of their regional character, they became defensive. If they had positively taken the criticism of their party having a regional character and taken positive measures to address it, this election would be a walkover for them.
