PATRIOTIC Front (PF) president Edgar Lungu says he is both mentally and physically set for the filling of nomination papers today ahead of the forthcoming January 20 presidential election.

Mr Lungu, who is in charge of ministries of Defence and Justice, said he is more than ready to file his nomination papers because he has waited for the exercise for a long time.

He said this in an interview in Lusaka yesterday shortly after visiting the funeral house for Minister of Home Affairs Ngosa Simbyakula’s mother Mary Msango who died on Wednesday after an illness.

Mr Lungu said he is overwhelmed by the support he is receiving from party members who have made it possible for him to file his nomination papers today.

“In terms of politics, I can say that I am growing from strengthen to strength and I am assuring all the PF members that we will carry the day come January 20, next year,” he said.

Mr Lungu said the actual celebrations for the PF will start today after filing the nomination papers ahead of the presidential poll.

“The challenge for me is not easy, but I believe that God will give me more strength and wisdom to lead the people of Zambia after the death of our beloved republican president.

“The time for me to reflect on what President Sata left has come and I believe that its God’s plans that I become President of Zambia one day and I am praying to the God Almighty to continue playing a role in my leadership,” he said.

Mr Lungu also said the reinstatement of the 570 health workers is a Christmas and Jubilee present to them.
He dismissed claims by some politicians that the reinstatement of health workers is a campaign gimmick by the PF government.
“Christmas and Jubilee all point to the time to forgive and give and this is what we have just done as a government. This is non-political as alleged by some politicians,” Mr Lungu said.

And spokesperson for the PF campaign team Harry Kalaba has urged PF Members of Parliament (MPs) to go flat-out and campaign for Mr Lungu ahead of the presidential election.

Mr Kalaba who was also at the house of mourning said time for the PF has come and that the MPs including adopted cabinet ministers should go round the country and explain the development projects that the government has initiated and continues to implement in all parts of the country.

Dr Simbyakula’s mother Mary, 85, died on Wednesday at Lusaka’s CFB Hospital after an illness and funeral gathering is held at Plot No. 2406/L Ibex Hill in Lusaka.

She survived by three children, several grand and great grandchildren.

  1. Fyabufi ka Lungu iwe. You will fail lamentably on Jan 20, 2015. Just continue ukukaba iwe. Thats what you know better. You not presidential material.
    Ifintu ni HH.

    • Thank God you reconciled , we want to beat You clean game as UPND our preparation has been on going for the whole. And we were prep airing for sata himself come 2016. I don’t see how u are so excited about this under 5 malnutritioned EDGAR lungu. He is an under weight to HH. You lied to us Ba mambala ba PF, teti mutu washe na don’t ukubeba na futi..

    • When God say yes, no man can stand in the way of his choice. God bless the candidates your tribulations are ours for mother Zambia.

    • 10 REASONS WHY PF WILL WIN THE BYE ELECTIONS

      1) They still command much support (leading) in
Lusaka and Copperbelt. these two provinces have
the largest numbers of registered voters

      2) They are likely to benefit from regional Voting
      (Muchinga,Northern, Luapula, Eastern)

      3) In whichever province they loose they are likely
      to take a 2nd position

      4) They have functional grass root structures
      spread across the country

      5) The voters register has not changed from that
of 2011 where 42% supported PF

      6) There economic performance cannot be
outrightly rubbished as they have scored on
      infrastructure development especially in Rural
      Areas

      7) The charisma effect of Sata has not totally been
lost, as people seem to have a natural love for EL
      as they did for SATA

      8)…

    • 8) The sympathy Vote effect for Sata loyalists

      9) Empathy vote to shame the rich who have been
      fighting Edgar Lungus candidature

      10) Humility and simplicity of EL that makes
majority people in Zambia identify with him easily…

    • Our smear campaign of Lungu has only helped bump up the Lungu ticket to a definite victory. We should have learnt by now that EL’s rise to the Republican Presidency is a triumphantly entry against all artificial odds deluded people in our Tonga party and the accomplices have created yet have lamentably failed. We the Tongas are not meant to rule but remain the opposers in Zambian politics to strengthen national unity and democracy. We can rule our cows and goats but not beyond our tribal party. Like the Nkumbula father and son then Musokotwane and Mazoka failed, its no surprise that HH is heading for his 4th crash.

    • Why did the skeleton go to the party alone?

Well, he had NO BODY to with him!

29 days left till PF is democratically kicked off, counting down. PF will soon have more confusion, let wait and see and hope not.
They need to be voted out overwhelmingly, teaching them their own concoction of Donchi Kubeba sickness and they will scamper around into oblivion.
Hope Dr Scott is not leeched.

    • Thank you for the post. Your hatred for this guy, EL gives us the impetus to give him even more support. Keep on insulting him and we will keep on giving him the votes.

  2. Thank God you reconciled , we want to beat You clean game as UPND our preparation has been on going for the whole. And we were prep airing for sata himself come 2016. 3. Mr Lungu Sir, We are behind you.

Walk forward with Strength and Confidence. Now is the time to win hearts and minds.

Every step you take is swept with Blessings. May the prayers and well wishes of your supporters carry you, up lift you all the way to victory. Walk confidently, you great and favoured son of God. The day is here, receive your blessings.

    No Enemy will prosper.

    GOD BLESS EDGAR LUNGU. PRESIDENT.

    • Patriot Abroad, you have stated the truth; am back on this LT and it is great. Mr. Lungu file in your papers, so as you Doctor Mumba and HH can battle it out.

  4. Brief reconciliation, but people are going to view that as EL trying to get his hands on our money, the post informed us PF is broke.

  5. Who are you cheating vodka kaminamisa Lungu. You are desperate for votes now you do every thing that think in your lack of wisdom will get you votes. Our memories are still fresh what you said and how you treated the hard working nurses. How hideous nkandu luo belittled the bemba paramount chief.

  6. Ka Lungu ka chokolwa, voetsek. Ichinso ulemoneka fye ati uli ka mambala iwe. Waibile shinga kanshi iwe sha client? Elo shonse wa twala ku ma pint? Chibuku. Tawa katuteke ka mambala iwe.

  7. yes yondo sister, what better way to a new year, kick the past behind us and start afresh, we can’t be voting these proud desperate rejects, we not even sure Lungu is the candidate, courts still have to decide, Lungu is so boring and always looking for support, he can’t do anything by himself, forcing ministers to back him up or sign stuff.

    • I would not put too much hope in PF. These guys have a way of causing havoc where there shouldn’t be any.

      Shameless people.

  8. people, did u know that 99percent of hh mps come from southern province????????? this party is regional . now imagine his cabinet!!!!!!! and by the way you our friends, the other bad thing you poses is stigness, akaso!!!! be it school, in mariage, at work mulibakaso sana. sisters marry a tonga and you will be buying pamela ubunga, sugar, salard etc. i have a tonga neiba with a shop but his wife buys pamela saladi and sugar all the time. you wont go with money guys, change. hh president????? tekwesha!!!!!!!

    • Don’t generalize my friend. Would we be fair to say Bembas are thieves, Tumbukas are drunkards, Nsenga women are prostitutes? No my friend! FTJ, Chungu (former Intelligency Director) and Samuel Musonda ( former ZANACO MD), Dr. Kaseba (the money she got from Govt for her unconstitutional office), RB’s abuse of Govt funds, Richard Sakala who was even jailed. These individuals errored and not the tribe.

  9. It angers me how these PF politicians can invoke the name of God Almighty and yet act in a manner so contradictory to the teachings of the Holy writ–stealing huge sums of public money while the masses languish in poverty, lying and deceiving the masses; promoting a culture of fear and intimidation–and then shamelessly invoking the name of Jehovah—enough with this group of individuals with no morals!

  10. Shame that Guy Scotthas been put in a very awkward position, such that his thinking has become unpredictable .

Anyway, after PF lose he will breath.

  11. Chakolwa kachasu Lungu teti ateke chalo-aleisundila muma pants- Kambwili insists & have reviewed.Surely the name of God is being used wrongly by these Outgoing Lairs Party PF after all lies, corruption, tribalism, nepotism,& all vices of bad human & economic development.Who really will vote for these diabolical pathetic failures in all aspects of social-economic development.Even voting for them on tribal lines is now proving to be impossible as their so called stronghold(s) are being terribly hammered economically. No any region in Zambia is now interested in Lairs & selfish politicians for they can not eat their tribal voting, hence anyone depending on the past voting patterns will surely be disappointed.HH, Uncle Tati, Nalumango,Katele, Mucheleka & now almost the entire…

  12. Your continued insults for Lungu is a great campaign tool for him. You have made him very popular and his campaign will be easy. People like myself have believed that UPND is a party of insults and name calling. I would not like to associate myself with such a kaponya’s type of language party.

  13. What arrogance you have Edgar Lungu! You are an insult to Christianity. You have the nerve to say a “Christmas gift”. First of all these nurses have earned it this is not a gift. Secondly yes this is a political gimmick! You really have no respect for the intelligence of the Zambian voter. Please don’t call justice a gift. First lesson in big league politics “never belittle the voter”. In any case this is too little to late the damage has been done. Some of these people have already lost too much. Children kicked out of school, defaulted on mortgages and other obligations some have even died from depression and a lack of income to support critical and essential needs like medicine. All this drunk can say is “its a GIFT”. Get out its not a GIFT. THESE HARD WORKING MEN AND WOMEN…

  14. good will always triumph over evil no matter how long it takes. God has fought that battle for you Mr. President and always be mindful of God’s hand in your leadership. Reconciliation is the only way to go so that together we can address the so many problems this country grapples with. VIVA Edgar C.Lungu

  15. Thank you to hear from LT that Scott and Lungu have reconciled. It is the outward reconciliation and not deep down their hearts. Lungu shall blame Scott that day when he fails the election.
I foresee the the big crack in PF. I am told that even some DCs have stopped 100% supporting PF in fear of the job loses and only DC Party Cadres are the one in the forefront trying to make strategics failing campaigns.

  16. Why can’t we just chase these fools back to northern/luapula,they may choose to call their country luapula or Democratic republic of vinkubala bcoz zambia remains with zambezi river,go and preside over Vinkubala not our natural endowments,us we are already rich and educated, that’s why you are the poorest tribe in zambia viva southern, you will remain in perpetual poverty.IWE CHI Cynthia bwalya for how long do you think we allow you to continue rooting our resource with your below standard leaders that you continue floating, poor in everything including human resource, keep on floating the your sub-standard leaders we will show you that we leave in the 21st centuary just continue setting up the fire.

  17. Too bad flight hh2015 is now eminently crashing. If you are still on board,JUMP! Failing 4 times? upnd needs to elect someone else by involving all provinces, not just some lumpens declaring a winner on the basis of tribe. Just look at HH, surrounded by old southerners with worn out jackets dripping of moths and a strong scent of mbolokonya!May we please see people like Gary Nkombo reorganising the party, not people with deep rooted tribal hatred.

  18. The picture of great damage is done inthis pangs camp which possesses no worry to the general voters after scandalizing themselves in open and name giving especially on Guy Scot. Though with him he has to be extra careful with these Africans. We are prayerful that he watches against mismanagement of govt resources.

  19. No 20 called Realzambian you may kill yourself over tribal UPND!check 2011 results to stop dreaming about HH winning!your HH only won in southern, too bad!in any country, there is a leading tribe or language,so in zambia bemba speakers are majority and have great influence in politics!a candidate they back always win!Mazoka almost won due to bemba speakers support!this is what HH lacks but Edgar Lungu has a huge bemba support hence he’ll win 2015 elections!with peace returning to PF,HH is in hell now!TRUTH BE TOLD,PF IS SUPPORTED BY MASS VOTERS THAN ANY LOCAL PARTY TODAY!

    • @ eddy, wake up my dear and be a little analytical. Common sense tells me that the individual you are responding @ # 20 is not actually a UPND supporter. His aim is to alienate UPND by making people believe just like you have done that UPND supporters are vulgar and bad people. You have just danced to his tune. For all I he is an enemy of UPND.

Secondly, whoever you are @ # 20, please use your real blog-name because real Zambian is my blog-name and I am too decent to use such language. I respect and love every human being regardless of color, creed or indeed tribe. I believe we are all made in God’s own image.

Please use your name next time.
