Acting President Guy Scott has asked the people of Mkushi to vote for the ruling Patriotic Front candidate Edgar Lungu in the forthcoming Presidential elections slated for January 20, 2015.
Dr Scott said the 2015 Presidential elections are about continuity, saying the people gave the PF a five year mandate which it has to finish.
The Acting President was speaking when he addressed hundreds of Mkushi residents during a rally at the presidential square in Mkushi today.
He said the forthcoming elections are not about change but about continuing with the massive economic development projects that the PF government is implementing countrywide.
He urged the people to ignore lies by opposition political parties who he said have nothing to offer the people.
Dr Scott also called for a stop to finger pointing among party members following the holding of the party’s extraordinary conference that elected Mr Lungu as party President.
Speaking at the same rally, Sports Minister Chishimba Kambwili said Zambians need to be careful with parties that have tribal inclinations.
Mr Kambwili said it is because of people that tend to think that their tribes are superior than others that sparked war in certain counties.
He said Mr Lungu is the best candidate among all the other aspiring candidates to steer the country forward.
And Agriculture Minister Wilbur Simuusa explained that the delay in paying farmers is because government had to buy one million extra tonnes of maize in addition to the 500,000 tonnes it bought for the strategic food storage.
Mr Simuusa however, assured the farmers that government has released funds to pay farmers that supplied maize to FRA for the 2013/2014 crop marketing exercise.
He said government is committed to developing the country by using agriculture as a priority sector to anchor national development.
And Central Province Minister Obvious Mwaliteta said PF is the only party with a formula to deliver development to the people.
I dont see the PF succeeding in cheating the people. It is very clear that people are fade up with the daily lies we are being fed. We saw and heard the Chitimukulu lambasting the PF in their face contrary to what has been reported that he is happy with the PF. Muvi tv showed the visibly annoyed Mwinelubemba. I wont be surprised if the PF loses in Kasama.

PF cannot lose in NP, Luapula, Lusaka, Eastern, CB, Central and Muchinga. The Chieftainship issue is an internal problem for Bemba people as well as Govt. If you live in Zambia, have you heard that Bembas are complaining about this apart from the the Royal Establishment?. There could more to it than sees they eye and PF popularity may not be affected at all.
However, UPND is making a serious mistake by attacking the security and millitary machinery of the country. Uniformed men and women will begin to fell uncomfortable with having HH in power and remember they also vote. HH is getting too excited and losing political rationality. Please advise him to take it easy before he alienates more sections of Zambian society. Just a friendly advise. Politics can be cruel if carelessly handled.

Continuity is for worthwhile programmes while change is for failed projects. PF is a failed project thus need for review and change. Scott must not cheat voters that by voting in PF the voters promised a 5 year mandate for PF or indeed any other party that assumes office is just a project not promised to last full 5 years if the review funds it to be a failure. This is why recall is important in the constitution.

All rich people of the world, rich families from generation to generation invest in their businesses, spend less than what they earn; similarly nations are built on investing in future, infrastructures-roads, power plants, factories, agriculture and so on and this is what late Sata resorted to. He copied the vision of MMD but at least he did it and took bold steps to develop infrastructure, a pre-requisite for launching Zambia into growth trajectory. That is what Dr. Scott is calling continuity. If investing in future for the welfare of our children is what Dr. Scott is calling continuity, I the headman of Ngoya will vote for PF.

The certainty of who will win the forthcoming Presidential By-election has become very clear with 107 MPS endorsing the candidature of PF President Edgar Chagwa Lungu.
The MPS are now expected to go into the countryside and embark on a vigorous campaign that might secure the win in the 107 constituencies out of 150 Constituencies in Zambia.
The 26 MPS are drawn from the 35 MPS from MMD.
The MPS mostly drawn from constituencies with Zambia’s biggest voting population have provided the clear swing that Edgar Lungu needed.
PF draws most if it’s support from Copper belt, Luapula, Lusaka and Northern provinces.
MMD draws it’s support from Eastern Province but has support from Central, Western and Northwestern…
