Matete faces mauling from Kambwili

Share

Sports minister Chishimba Kambwili has warned ex-400 meters hurdles World champion Samuel Matete and his faction of life bans following their unilateral declaration as an interim ZAAA executive committee on Saturday.

Zambia’s most successful sportsman was elected as interim ZAAA president during a surprise annual general meeting held at Mulungushi International Conference Centre in Lusaka on Saturday.

The AGM went ahead even after Matete and his colleagues who were barred from contesting the December 27 postponed elective ZAAA congress won a court injunction contesting their ineligibility.

“I want to warn Matete and this so-called interim ZAAA executive that under my leadership, we shall not allow anarchy,” Kambwili said.

“What they did yesterday (On Saturday) is illegal and I want to warn them that they risk being expelled from the sport.

“I don’t want to be the one to issue instructions for their expulsion.”

    • a Kambwili masiku onse ni ntota cabe!

Can somebody put this man through some administrative training?

Hey Chishimba, there are things a Minister is not supposed to get involved in. Even when it is brought to his or her attention, you push it back to the lower levels to deal with it because is it not policy related. In other words it is beneath him or her.

Iwe vonse cabe ni kuziikamo. I guess Willie Nsanda was right when he called you a small boy. Where did you think that came from? Your involvement in trivial issues. In management they called it “minutiae.”

niwe minister manje, siya nzelu za cifana. Sha!

    • MUVI TV OPINION POLL RESULTS- AN ARTIFICIAL CREATION
      By Emmanuel Mwamba
I remember UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema leading in Internet opinion polls in 2006 beating Michael Sata and Levy Mwanawasa in a distant 2nd and 3rd.
But the electoral vote and results were markedly different.
In 2008 Hichilema was also leading in the same opinion polls. But the voter results remained different.

      2015 vote PF(Edgar)

      I thank you

    • Some of these statements are bordering on treasonable issues and I keep on wondering as to what our defence and security officers are doing. People must know how far they can go and a line must be drawn..tekubosa fye iyoo.

    • This fat boy is stupid?? he thinks he owns everything in Zambia. let someone kick the hell out of him. Moreover what message are we sending to have an obis person as minister of sports??

He does not deserve the post.

  2. Does anyone ever listen to Kambwili? Kambwili speaks nonsense all the time. He is the only reason I d like the PF to exeunt. Lungu if you win please get rid of such trash

  3. KAMBWILI YOU HAVE REMAINED WITH 18 DAYS TO GO. YOU OUT OF YOUR SENSES.

MY FRIEND MATETE KEEP IT COOL YOU HAVE BEEN LEGALLY ELECTED DEAR, MULEKE UYO KABOLALA

    • @Senama, Kambwili is not remaining with 18 days. These are only by-elections. (“We won, we won!” “It’s only half-time”). However, he’ll haunt us with unreasonable utterances until 2016 when there will be parliamentary elections.

  4. MATETE HAS SIMPLY TAKEN THE ROUTE TEAM EDGAR LUNGU TOOK IN BECOMING PF PRESIDENT. NONETHELESS,THAT IS A WRONG ROUTE. I THINK THE COURTS SHUD B GIVING DIRECTION T THOSE WHO ARE GRANTED INJUCTIONS AGAINST THE RIVALS. B4 INTER-PARTE HEARING TAKE PLACE,THE AGGRIEVED PARTY COUP THE SYSTEM? THIS IS ANARCHY WHICH MUST NOT BE ALLOWED AT ANY LEVEL OF OPERATION

  5. Kambwili the man who only knows violence. No ethics in his world or diplomacy just brutality is all he knows. Getting a real education can get you far in life and will also teach you how to communicate with people efficiently while sending a message at the same time.

  6. Ba PF – you have just shown everyone how to get away with illegal way of putting someone in power. Before you expel Matete start by expelling one Edgar Lungu

  7. LIARS should not be given time to rule Zambia again especially after failing to govern their small party Pf after the death of our beloved president who bcoz of pf liars Zambians dont no if he got sick or just collapsed dead. Pf is very divided as at now , the kabwaato is sinking! Zambia deserves better!

  8. Kambwili, You must suspect he supports a certain political party (hint: not yours) and so you’re persecuting the guy.

And quit with the threats. Just be a nice civilised human being. For a change.

  9. Can some one get a promotion at work through court injunction Just thinking. P.F has taught many how to get what you want when you want it.

  10. Sieze Banda you are right in all aspects of your comments. This is the problem of putting semi illiterate as ministers. He go his degree from Copperstone University on a distance learning

  11. A kettle calling a pot black. Isn’t this the way democracy operates in Zambia? Kambwili has to be careful and address the issues leading to this problem. Isn’t this how EL became president of PF? Tone down and reflect before threatening people. Matete has contributed a great deal more to the development of athletics in Zambia that this gentleman will ever do. Being in a ministerial post does not mean that you can sideline some people and use instruments of power to exclude them. Mpondela has always used illegal means to maintain the status quo and you should be ashamed to come out ranting in support of him. It is time for change!

  12. UPND suportrs we are on matete not lungu. Its like you have now taken our position of illitart. we told you that politics is not a children’s play ground its for big pipo. lungu i think kambwili shud be talked to or be given time to grow

  13. I may not support the approach taken by Matete but the question is, how long is Elias Mpondela supposed to remain as ZAAA president? We were also beginning to get irritated with the ZCTU leadership of Hikaumba and friends but lo and behold they said enough was enough and they are gone. When will this ever happen with ZAAA. Mr Mpondela is always coming up with excuses as to why the others should not stand. I think this is what Kambwili and all are failing to see. Unfortunately even the Sports council appears to lean on his side. Bushe bufumu?

  14. Kambwili must be so very dull! 20 days to go before a critical status changing election and you come out breathing vernom aganist publicly popular outcome (not sure though about its legality)!!!
    Let’s wait and see!

If Edgar did it, why can’t Matete ‘did it aloso’!

  15. KAMBWILI ,ZAAA IS NOT FOR PONDELA ALONE .MAYB HE SHARED SOMETHING WITH U ALSO FROM INTER PARTY RELAY AS HE DID TO SPORTS COUNCIL (MK) .TRY TO REASON WHY HE GETS ON TRYING TO SIDE LINE HIS FRIENDS FROM PARTICIPATION.WHAT HAS PONDELA BROUGHT TO ZAMBIA BETTER THAN MATETE.U NEED TO MOTIVATE THESE SPORTS MEN SO AS THEIR PARTICIPATION WILL IMPROVE KNOWING THAT IN FUTURE THEY CAN STILL BE IN ADMINISTRATION.
KAMBWILI THINK TWICE,INCLUDE THESE GUYS IN THE NEXT AGM ON THE CANDIDATES.MAYB THEY JUST DID IT THE WRONG WAY,BUT HAVE ANOTHER AGM.LIKE U DID IN PF.

MIND YO TALK ON THE MEDIA,U DONT SOUND LIKE A GOOD LEADER.AND U WANTED TO B PRESIDENT LIKE THAT.
NOW READ THE COMMENTS AND SEE HOW MANY ARE FOR U.NONE
