Patriotic Front (PF) Malole Member of Parliament Christopher Yaluma and his counterpart for Lukashya Alfridah Kansembe have dismissed assertions that the ruling party has lost popularity in the Northern province.
And the two senior members of the ruling party have described the decision by PF Kasama Central MP Geoffrey Mwamba to endorse opposition UPND Leader Hakainde Hichilema in the January 20 Presidential by-election as his democratic right.
The MPs have since dismissed as false claims by Mr Mwamba that the ruling party is losing popularity in the area.
Mr Yaluma and Ms Kansembe said that contrary to Mr. Mwamba’s assertions, PF was intact in the province.
Mr. Yaluma, who is also Energy Minister, said Mr. Mwamba’s move to support UPND president Hakainde Hichilema in the January 20, 2015 presidential election has not affected the ruling party in anyway.
He said the Kasama Central MP has only exercised his democratic right of supporting a presidential candidate of his choice.
And Ms. Kansembe said PF members in Northern Province were behind the leadership of their party president Edgar Lungu.
She said party structures at Constituency, District and Provincial levels have all endorsed the candidature of Mr. Lungu ahead of the presidential polls next month.
Ms. Kansembe has since urged PF members to remain loyal to the ideals of the ruling party.
The two MPs were reacting to Mr. Mwamba’s decision to rally behind the candidature of UPND president Hakainde Hichilema in the January 20 presidential polls in Kasama today.

If he manages to pick just 15 percent from the farmers in Northern, Muchinga, Luapula and Eastern, he is going to State House. Our mistakes are as follows: 1. PF president and candidate for the January 20 Presidential election Edgar Lungu will not participate in the Presidential election debate organised by Economic Association of Zambia.
Emmanuel Mwamba who is in Lungu’s media campaign team said the PF candidate will be out for campaigns until December 31st.
Reacting to HH’s campaign manager Dipak Patel’s remarks that he was happy that HH will face Lungu during the debate, Mwamba Said Patel should have consulted before issuing the statement.

PF would disintegrate if they were to lose the elections in January. It would be a desperate situation the party would not be able to come out of. Like on commentator has said Lungu cannot be able to take PF when its out of power. Weather EL will be decisive as president, if he becomes one, is another issue yet to be seen. In short PF’s future is uncertain. I must say the party was not ready to get into power in the first place. I worry for the party. One positive from the party is Guy Scott. PF denials is killing them, they need to face reality, how are they going to fix the party, when in such denial and EL hardly campaigned there, it will be foolish to think people in Northenwill vote for PF, they too need to see and hear the person they voting for. Politics never change; in 1991 Alexander Kamalondo used to tell KK that everything was ok on the Copperbelt; not long ago Bwezani was also told he was very popular and he was wining the elections. The rest is history….
Although GBM is exercising his democratic right, in the normal and right sense that is indiscipline at its highest in the party. After the by-election can PF NEC sort out GBM so that he sees that he is not above the party regulations. People in Kasama and Northern Province as a whole are still appreciating what the PF government has done for them in the few years the party has been in government. It is not the first time GBM has behaved like that! Every time he wants to be nurtured as if he owns PF. Can you sort him out after 20th January, 2015. GBM is not a factor in Northern. Yes he has gone with 200 votes but PF remains with 10,000 votes. The fact is that GMB is a criminal so he found it hard to steal in PF so am sure they must have discuseed with HH how they are going to steal money from government even selling the remaining state companies so that they can get kick backs
PF remain resolute. gbm’s presences in PF was a thorn. he is a cartel member together with scott, sampa,gay membe. Its good that he has pruned himself because he never fitted in well. Let PF remain with the pure cream and not the contaminants like gbm. These people are spoilers and HH does not know. They will destroy his party by fighting to take over. Already, there was a problem in Chipata on saturday during a poorly attended rally addressed by HH. There were divisions among organizers mostly those who have infiltrated the party. Wait UPND, you are stocking nuclear weapons that will finish the party. PF is still strong indeed thanks to RB, Eastern which has one of largest number of voters has now turned to PF. The 17 councilors in Lundazi who endorsed HH are withdrawing their pledges
i thought GBM was suspended long time ago by then Sata and lost then lost heavily to parallel elctions to Sampa? this guy has lost direction and suprisingly HH is getting the rejects from MMD and PF.
