The United Party for National Development (UPND) says Kasama Central Member of Parliament Geoffrey Mwamba is still a political giant whose endorsement of its leader Hakainde Hichilema will boost his chances of emerging victorious in the 20thJanuary, 2015 presidential election.

UPND deputy Spokesperson Edwin Lifwekelo says Mr. Mwamba’s endorsement of the UPND leader is a clear indication that the UPND has penetrated Northern Province and Kasama central in particular.

Mr. Lifwekelo says this is also a clear sign that the UPND embraces everyone regardless of one’s tribe or religion.

He adds that the move by the Kasama Central lawmaker to endorse the UPND leader is a bitter blow to the ruling party.

Mr. Lifwekelo says the UPND has done its home work and is fully prepared for victory in the presidential election next month.

    • The Source Sept 6,2013: As the results for Mkaika Constituency bye elections pierced through the hearts of PF members last night, PF sources immediately pointed fingers at the raucous Defence Minister Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba (GBM), who they have accused of costing the party the elections.

“Wherever GBM has been leading campaigns, we have lost elections. He was campaign manager in Muchinga Constituency and we lost to Howard Kunda, when we should have easily won. He was in the forefront of the campaigns in Chipata and Mkaika, where he overshadowed the campaign manager, Edgar Lungu, and look at the results,” the sources complain.

“It shows that people do not appreciate GBM and you cannot make him the face of the campaigns. It’s like whenever people see him they get irritated. He brings…

    • Continued…….. He went to Mkaika with a lot of thugs from Lusaka just like he did in Chipata. Thugs who were fighting other PF members. Well, we’ve been punished. Particularly, people of Eastern Province do not like aggressive people. GBM comes across as aggressive.”

    • GBM, you are late, no position for you in my party.

We regret to inform you that all ministerial positions in my party are fully occupied.

      No obesity in my party.

Thank you for supporting the winning team at last hour.

      Yours Faithfully,

      UPND

  1. Iwe chi lufwekelo ,stop dreaming GBM was known in kasama central because of the late, nevertheless Under 5 he has a mountain to climb ,he will be lucky to get away with 15% votes in these areas c/b,northern,luapula,eastern & muchinga.

    • I agree that HH may only manage 15% in Luapula, Eastern and Northern due to TRIBALISM being practised in those provinces. CB is cosmopolitan(mixed Tribes) not like the provinces above so He may score 40% or more which will set him on the path to clinch the Presidency.

  2. HH HAS SOLD THE PARTY
We are diehard UPND feel betrayed for HH to make PF CADRES his bedfellows. This is because of being desperate for power. There are so many reasons why HH should step down if he loses on 20th January.

    1. HH has overstayed without an election (now on 4th term) this is dictatorship;
    2. HH has made our party to look inferior to PF by borrowing people and ideas from PF so that we no longer have originality;
    3. HH has abandoned his own language for fear of intimidation by other tribalsmen sometimes he speaks bemba in Southern Province. This is an insult to our ancestors. Is our tribe so inferior we have to be subordinate to any other tribe? HH is almost worshipping GBM a man with corruption cases, a savage.
    4. HH must be replaced on 21January at a convention.

    • I agree with you my dear, Ba GBM is reach, that’s a well known fact but on popularity….I doubt it. is he even popular among his employees?
UPND convention is long overdue…where are the big brains (Milyata) ignoring this democratic tenet?

    • You just a PF cadre trying to throw stones at UPND but such petty hallucinations shall not yield a thing.

      Its Zambia 4ward Just.
Flight HH 2015 Gate 20.Jan Boarding big time.

    • @Brian. Only Shallow people think the way you think.

Firstly, UPND is a Zambian Party. There is room for 14 millions Zambians. There is no discrimation of any kind.

Secondly. HH has only been UPND president for about 8 years. A term is 5 years. He was first elected into office in 2006. About 5 years later, 2010 he was re-elected. Hence only warped thinking can say he has done 4 terms.

    • @ Chims

You are right. Yet we have our own people being cheated to believe we can only win by importing finished players from PF. Look at how many people follow GBM in Zambia. His character is so bad it has become a dent on our party. I am 100% sure our MPs are bleeding in their hearts. If big brains like Nkombo and Syakalima go for GBM I will have a funeral because they are the remaining pillars in UPND.

GBM is looking for shelter, or may be a complicated spy for LUNGU. In Kabwe, let me repeat, he said all Kasama people should rally behind Edgar Lungu, just a few days ago and to suddenly jump on our party. This is the worst form of politics I have ever seen.

  3. @Brian Bweengwa

I really dont think you know what you are talking about, and someone it is better to just keep quiet. UPND is trying hard to break the tribal tag which the party was known since Mazoka died and here you are talking rabbi.sh. we should thank HH because he remained strong and focused other the years he has been loosing because of the tribal tag on upnd. Now you want HH to start chasing those from other tribes who are changing the face of upnd. I don’t think you are a true upnd supporter.

    • Chocking with envy, not so? You PF cadre, leave UPND matters to UPND sympathisers. Your party will lose bkos of arrogance and lies. Anyone is free to join a party of their choice. Welcome aboard Flight HH2015. Hope u have a boarding pass. We are boarding from Gate J20!

The ruling MMD has congratulated the Patriotic Front -UPND pact for winning the KASAMA Parliamentary by-election.

MMD National Secretary KATELE KALUMBA however, said the PF UPND pact’s victory in KASAMA will be short lived because the ruling party will capture the seat in 2011.

Dr KALUMBA, in an interview with ZNBC, accused the PF-UPND pact of having capitalised on falsehoods to get the KASAMA central seat.

THAT IS HOW THE PF THING IN UPND STARTED OUR PROPLE SHOULD NOT BE CHEATED ABOUT GBM BEING POPULAR.

HH has let his own people down. Our strong campaign is to have him out immediately after 20th January. We have enough people, educated for that matter.

  5. Zambia united, that is what zambias are interested in. Edgar is increasingly being isolated. By voting time, he will only have a handful of kaponyas supporting him. Upnd will win this election with a landsllide.

  6. You think running a party is a small thing, we have over 30 political parties in Zambia, where are they? They have gone into oblivion because of lack of money yet hh has managed to keep upnd strong and a force to reckon with that’s why people like gbm, mutati,Maureen, etc are supporting it. Make my words if pf losses on 20 January, that’s the end of pf because Lungu has no money to sustain any business let alone a non profit party like pf. Remove HH ,the upnd is dead.

  7. @ Joxer

Continue attacking me and you will regret. see my research above. I am not just a supporter I am a very strong member of UPND researching on behalf of the party. My views are personal and meant to enrich our party.

There is no secret that we have been infiltrated. We need people who are vigilant, who will comment where a leader has made a mistake. Yes bwana yes bwana mebo no please I can’t do it. We need to emerge a very vibrant uncompromising party. Listen we can do without these imported crooks including Maureen Maule Mwanawasa! If they are your friends tell them. UPND is not for morons, that is what KING MAZOKA believed in! He never borrowed thugs, 2001 he won you know, the same thugs rigged! Mbubo. Kwamana!

  8. @ brian bweengwa you are not a UPND member. Every genuine upnd member is happy with current development in the Party. So stop to pretending to be a upnd member.

  9. Brian Bweengwa, you seem to be new to blogging. If you are a very strong member of UPND, am sure you would have used another method of bringing out your grievance. This method you have used of writing on social media will certainly dent the image of your party which is now in pole position for the presidency. Talk of bad timing! Please bring out these issues in your NMC meetings Mr.Strong!

  10. who can surely endorse this muppet (HH)? these desperate actions will cost these politicians their careers. support this ******(HH) at your own peril!

  11. Brian Bweengwa your are a fool to say the least! You are even cheating to be doing a research for the party.Which Party ?obviously not upnd! We in upnd such compulsions are alien! Such single minded & indiscipline outrageous rantings towards our party president are not condoned.Take those manners to your PF!

  12. It’s flight HH2015 cruising. Wapya munzi.
Where is flight VL2015 before we report it as a missing plane? It was supposed to have landed in Northern Province over the weekend. Can our National Airports trace it on the radar please.

  13. I am left to laugh at jokers. GBM is not a factor in Zambian politics. He may be a figure in Kasama Central but not in Northern Province nor Zambia. Recently he was humiliated by sampa at an illegal general conference. Now where is his popularity? Tell me Zambians. He had fought Edgar with sampa, scott and homosexual membe, and he expected to be welcomed in PF? The man has no wisdom. Several times when he was in cabinet, he picked up childish quarrels with other ministers. Now he is hungry for presidency, and UPND is celebrating. These people UPND is embracing, GBM,Mangani, Mutati,Lungwangwa, Alexander Miti, Kalima, Vincent Mwlae, etc, will detsroy the party. Come 20th Jan.2015, they will ditch UPND after its defeat.Mark my words.

    • @Zamleaks

Whatever fate has befallen our party, I don’t know. I have been called all sorts of names, PF whatever, and people do not understand the dangers in embracing GBM. I am still against his coming to UPND because he does not mean well. Nobody likes him. He told northerners in Kabwe to vote for LUNGU just last week. We need people who have a following, and critical thinkers not these funny bloggers who fears even a small insect falling from the roof when they are drinking munkoyo or chibwantu.

Alexander Miti has been disowned by the in MMD Eastern Province, our people there say even the MMD vehicle has been withdrawn from him. Let them not steal our money the same people de-campaigning UPND in eastern. Let’s have a different team there.

  14. Guys don’t even wast your time GBM is buying those poor people in kasama not the entire Northern Province. He is not a factor in N/ Province as evidently when he was beaten by a young man miles sampa. Those guys are just eating his cash, he is not a leader that one.

  15. Honestly……people, Of the two,….GBM and Mpombo…..if you need votes, how many votes is Mpombo taking to PF??? Compare that with GBM……..Mudala…you better have GBM on your side that Mpombo..Viva HH and Viva UPND.

Zambia United is the motto….Zambia Forward

  16. As a way forward, I would argue that GBM attempts unconsciously to twist a given normative description of a noun, but he is aware that he does not possess the necessary ‘knowledge’ or abilities to undertake such a task. Furthermore, he attempts to mask his deficit in higher mental abilities by throwing all sorts of accusations at his pre-chosen opponents not knowing that he slides back into the divisive trap which he initially attempted to avoid. GBM must question his approaches in lieu of sugar coating his misdemeanors or rather serious criminal acts. GBM needs to de-escalate serious situations which are orchestrated by himself and his disciples. Viva, Tongas and well meaning Zambians.
THE ABOVE WORDS WERE POSTED BY “BOOM&WHATEVER ON LT
I am vindicated. I don’t just hate BGM

  17. HH got 2 900 votes from Northern in 2011 while PF got 260 600!so you can see the huge gap between 2 parties such that even if GBM campaigned daily for HH,he wont manage to attract even 10 000!voters never change easily!HH will lose to PF badly no matter how hard GBM campaigns for UPND!plus cant win his seat on UPND ticket-NEVER!

    • but you guys want to give us a crook? GBM has no personality we don’t need the fellow.

If you think your gimmick is beyond recognition you are cheating your selves. First MMD gave us Alexander Miti, Mangani and about 3 crazy MPs fooling our President. Easter has been a disaster and we are praying for God who was with MAZOKA to bless us there with good results. Now we have GBM from PF and a few other crooks. Me I feel like vomiting! Our party’s image is defaced, but not beyond on redemption. Tell him all positions are full. From President to Cleaner. And when we win he should not claim a share of anything. That bemba thief.

  18. PF needs to reorganize. We will still need a formidable opposition in Zambia after January. First order of business should be to identify a true leader to fill the vacuum that is causing thier implosion right now. Unfortunately Edgar is not that leader. Lungus biggest mistake was to give in to the AG without a constitutional challenge. Even if the courts had letter decided that he should yield it was important for him to portray strength and authority. Second he should not have picked a fight with Guy Scottt over the position of SG. Finally Edgar made the mistake of accepting the PF nomination under very questionable circumstances. While there was a time and place to be known as a person that can drink anyone under the table, that is not a reputation that a leader should hold.
