PATRIOTIC Front (PF) president Edgar Lungu has said the New Year gives Zambians the opportunity to reflect on past successes and challenges, which will encourage continuity in the country’s achievements beyond its Golden Jubilee.
“Jubilee, according to the great book of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Bible, is a year of emancipation and restoration, the restoration of faith, love and unity for all.
“I cannot overstate the fact that Jubilee has meant for us in this great country, the beginning of a new leadership, a listening leadership and, above all, a leadership that delivers, servant leadership,” he said.
Mr Lungu said this in his new year message to the nation yesterday.
He urged citizens against over indulging during the New Year period since the party needed as many people to vote for it on January 20, 2015.
“You can only vote if you go through this period safely. We need your vote in order to complete the start of the Jubilee and continue reducing poverty and creating jobs,” he said.
Mr Lungu pointed out a number of development programmes the Government was undertaking which he intended to continue with once voted into office.
“We are erecting 650 health posts that will reduce the distance mothers will travel in rural areas in order to give birth and, consequently, reduce mortality rates
“We are increasing bed spaces in colleges and universities as well as rolling out a plan to capture more young people from vulnerable families on a working bursary scheme as we introduce a loan scheme,” he said.
The Government is also employing 5,000 teachers annually in order to seal the black-hole left by previous administrations and slash the teacher-pupil ratio.
Other development projects are building more than 8,000 kilometres of new roads as well as 4,500 houses for defence personnel.
Mr Lungu reiterated that his Government would take milling plants to rural Zambia so that the grain is milled at the point of production in order to push down the prices of mealie meal.
“I personally have already given you a Draft Constitution during my first two months of my taking over as your minister of Justice, a clear testimony of my sincerity and commitment to give you a new Constitution,” he added.
Mr Lungu said from what the PF had delivered in three years, it was clear that the (PF) Government was about delivery and not empty promises.
Where others were promising roads, schools and jobs, the PF had already delivered and this was an indisputable fa
Don’t be deceived by the PF rally crowds, people are only going to see the visionless Edgar Lungu who again lying to his charlatan cadres how he will capsize their sinking canoe.
Voting for Lungu is suicide and therefore endorse a Hero of Humanity to economically, democratically, politically, socially and culturally govern the country. This Hero of Humanity is HH. Hope and Health for the nation and not the visionless Lungu.

Dear Illiterates,
There is isn’t much infrastructue for social amenities in rural areas in Zambia so if someone visiting the area comes in a helicopter,private jet or convoy of cars thats a big crowd puller.Its the entertainment of the day.
The crowds you are seeing at rallies mostly there out of curiosity.It’s ridiculous to say EL had a larger crowd than HH or vise versa hence they will get more votes or are more popular.Besides some parties are known for ferrying supporters.Please Zambians let us demonstrate that we have more than meets the eye between our ears!!

I was reading a certain South African website 2 days ago in which they were casting doubt as to the seriousness of the Zambian people, especially politically. The word that caught my attention is “stolid”. “Zambians are stolid”. After looking up this word I was outraged!
Other ditionaries describe a stolid person as one who is “seemingly stupid”, or “who lacks seriousnes” or “passionless” about a serious subject.
Surely folks what is the world going to think about us when we vote back PF into power with the likes of Willie Nsanda and group at the helm?
The world already knows we are not serious . Willie Nsanda with no formal education is board chairman of RDA which is comprised of well qualified engineers. He knows nothing about organizations operational efficiency and yet we entrust him with such a huge undertaking.

Black South Africans have elected black presidents since end of apartheid who have NOT DELIVERED half the development we’ve had in the last 3 years to their blacks who still live in shanty compounds. High unemployment, poor pay in Mines. At least we in Zambia are correcting the poverty gap.

I have been to many African countries in Africa, Zamb is a better country in many ways. It sad to watch small scale farmers in Serenje and Mkushi stranded in town. They were informed by PF Govt that money for their 2013/2014 crop is in their district banks but NOTHING and now forced to spend nights at the bus stop and shop corridors waiting . As PF is telling these rural people the infrastructural development they put up in the district they (PF) must ask themselves :- 1 Are the families of these farmers going to eat infrastructural development? 2 Are the roads going to pay school fees for their children? As Scott rightly put it last night Zambians can nolonger be cheated. 19 days to go!
